Yes yes yes!!! I have been looking for ways/tools to make faux live edge or a groove or valley in a piece of wood and this is the tool I need. So glad I found you. Great videos
Just found this video and you offer some good advise. I mill my own lumber and use a lot of live edge. sometimess mother nature needs just s bit of help and thats wbere a little massaging the edges do wonders at making it look more naturall. Good video all the way around!
I bought a Kutzall disc recently based on another of your videos, but I didn’t realize there was a dish versus a disc. You mentioned in the video that you prefer the dish, but I didn’t see why that is. Can you give some explanation on that? Thank you!
I forgot to enter your code for the discount. I don’t know the percentage it would take off. I would like to give that to you to help support your channel. How can I do that? Thanks.
How is that even close to a proper live edge all u did was sand it i thought u were guna glue sum bark on or take it back shape it to glue a live edge off a bit of waste slab or something ??? Cannot see the point of this being called a live edge its a finished edge bud
Live edge slabs don’t have bark on them my guy… a live edge typically has the bark completely or mostly removed. You certainly can leave the bark if you want that look, but typically it is removed. “Live edge” only means that the edge shape of the board is not cut straight but is instead left to its natural contour. The bark is a separate factor to being live edge. Edit: For further clarification, when you buy a live edge slab from the supplier, it should 100% have the bark to ensure it is a true live edge. But when referring to finished works like a live edge table etc., the bark is not the factor that matters, only that it retains the same shape of the original live edge. Bark is dead and flakes over time and can fall off on any high use material. It is also very difficult to apply any kind of finish too if protection is needed.
one of the best craftsman on youtube
Thank you!!

Thanks Jesse! It's pretty fun too.
I bought this dish after seeing this video. I liked the golden one. The fine one
Yes that is a good one.
But later I bought the turquoise one, and the result were much smoother!

Because the edges are rounded. Just more universal in my opinion.
Great job explaining everything
Thank you! Appreciate that.
Definitely what I need for this badboy
Do you have a video of creating a live edge on a common wood board
Can you use the dish on the end grain so that you can create the end grain look on all 4 sides?
I love the end result but seeing it done in real time would have been beneficial to me.
I went back and forth on that. It was about an hour of footage though lol.
Nice work!
Great tip!!!
Great video.
Thank you!
Cool video man! I have the shaping dish from Kutzall and plan on doing this on future projects. Lefty
Thanks dude! It really is a versatile tool. I love all their stuff but the dish is my favorite.
very cool thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching!
Thank you sir

I really appreciate that! Not necessary though. If you would like to support I do sell woodworking plans on my website. Walkersww.com 😁
I was working with the dish and somehow the grinder cable cord swirled around the dish. Man, the grinder was new.
Oh no! I had that happen with a corded drill once that had a big auger bit on it lol.
Good
Nice!
Thanks!
I mean, I guess this is cool.
Haha. It's alright....
I have been doing this for around a year. No one has ever noticed it
It works well!
