I like how Klaymen's first reaction to being randomly shot into space is to take pictures.
I thought there's gonna be a picture gallery in the end.
Tobiasz Karoń
YES! There is one, during the end credits! :D
Prediction of future confirmed
This game is soooooo criminally underated but I'm glad I'm one of the few worthy to know of this gem and The Neverhood, Doug TenNapel deserves to be remembered amongst Miyamoto and Kojima
KennyKC You're still a loser.
+13Gangland Babe, can you whistle for Daddy?
KennyKC 😗😗

YRSX
I don’t blame you.
It’s criminally underrated that nobody has ever made sprite sheets out of Klaymen and it’s really sad
Remember when Game Developers really tried hard to make unique games?
Skullmonkeys does
They still try hard, they have tried hard before your comment. Garbage. Also 53 robots.
@@lel1103 bullshit
I think about this topic SO often. Unfortunately for the past decade we seem to be stuck in the “graphics wars” gamers only give a fuck if their games are “pretty” anymore. Doesn’t have to be good, doesn’t have to have a great storyline, doesn’t even have to be hard. As long as it “looks pretty” and realistic. I’ve noticed whenever companies are brave enough to make games outside the norm they get shit on anymore
ok na po ako
They didn't have the tools we have today and hence that made creative choices better.
Hands down, one of the best Videogame Soundtracks ever created, still listen to it regularly! :-)
The bonus room song is a bit weird
И я тоже )
"Word."
- Klaymen
Visual masterpiece
.
A little expressionist, a little steampunk.
Dynamic, fun, creative
.
1998! :O
So underrated!!!
This is the game I played with my friend at the age of 7. I remembered it clearly because one of the teachers came towards the tv in panic and switched to the news channel. There we saw the twin towers.
wow that's ironic lol.
Well... That's a story alright...
I was born a few days after the Twin Towers Attack. My mom was terrified at the moment.
DJ Techno um... what did the teacher do in your house? Or did you literally live in school?
Big oof
Very creative game and great quirky soundtrack. Takes a hell of an imagination to come up with something like this. I do miss playing this game.
This was one of my favorite games ever.
This and oddworld were my all time childhood games
been trying to remember this game for years and i finally found it!
I'm so glad others got to grow with this game too
I'm so sad many didn't and many won't :(
When I was a kid playing this with my friend, I remember the scene with the beans and the fart melting the dudes face making us cry laughing XD
The more you eat the more you chew
this game is one of the best games ever developed
Игра детства...впечетлен владением игровым умением,отличное видео!
so Fucking creative . I loved playing this as a kid. now this motivated me to get a hold of it again. epic
Extraño, memorable, divertido y de creatividad sin igual - uno de los juegos que más anhelo de mi infancia.
Ya lo puedes volver a jugar en celular con emulador es fácil y vale la pena
He wanted us to listen to the music I guess.
This game is not this easy folks!!
Yeah... Whoever wishes to play this should be ready to scream... a lot.
it's the first and only game, that made me break a controller in anger. my thumb felt broken and numb after trying that last level for the 200th time. never completed it.
I'm on emulation and I can''t fathom fucking playing this game on a regular console.
Yeah... The controls are weird... Klaymen feels always too fast, there's no momentum for his movement. Even when he jumps, his movement in mid-air feels like it's too fast.
@@kensuke0 emulators fuck up games and make them more janky than they ever were
I wish games today would take some risks, like these games did.
GunvorPlays This was the total opposite of risky in its days.
Rubén Gómez Radioboy Well, nowadays people just makes CoD and Battlefield over and over again. Also, FIFA. Back in the day you would sometimes see weird games that tried something different, like this and the Oddworld games for example.
GunvorPlays No. There are almost 10 companies that risk this days. Oddworld and this were mainstream in their time. Stay focused.
Rubén Gómez Radioboy I can't remember Oddworld ever being mainstream. I'm speaking from experience of course since I was a kid when the Abe's Odyssey came out and it always intrigued me. Mainstream around that time for me were more the likes of Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.
GunvorPlays There you are confusing kids-oriented with mainstream.
Yahoo! Been waiting for this to show up, it finally did. Love this game! Thanks for uploading guys!
Yes PSX ! Skullmonkeys is my favorite 2D game on Playstation. It's amazing that the game is so little known, it's great. On the other hand, I am happy to know a game that few know. I had bought the new game a little before the release of Playstation 2, it was not expensive but nobody wanted it because the future was Playstation 2, 3D, DVD. I don't regret having bought it and carefully preserved it, it is still in new condition.
This game used to be famous and it still is for being a game
impressive you beat the whole game without a single death
Thats not impressive
Beating every The Impossible Game in the series in a row without any deaths and in at least 3 hours.
Now that is impressive. Maybe. Maybe lower that time limit.
Cannon's Blockhouse are you saying you can beat Ghosts´n´Goblins in less then 2 hours and without any death?
Oh my...
The girls are soaking wet from your comment. LOL
Hey NecroMoron, I wasn't talking to you. So fuck you.
Necromancer King just stop hes obviously stringign you along for the ride. if you fuel his desire youll just make him more powerful
1:12:24 Thank you for this musical pause, I wanted to hear this song
37:40 when i saw this at 10 years old would be the 1st time i said what the fuck! to a game ever
هذي لعبة الطفولة اذكر اني وقفت عند اخر مرحلة وعجزت اختمها ايام بلاي ستيشن ١❤️
0:22 Previously on The Neverhood
It took me years, but I finally found the menu music I've been searching for. Totally forgot this game existed.
this is the first game of my life :')
That's a rare one. Someone whom actually CAN play this game. It's so nice to see someone at it whom knows what he has to do. Game'S actually a tad more difficult than it looks like.
Never heard of this game before, Armikrog brought me here... This looks sweet!
As a kid I had loads of fun with this game, but sometimes it was so confusing... backtracking levels and not knowing which ball to enter at the end of levels was tough!
Thanks for the longplay, as I can see how the game ends :P
1:13:53 Klaymen's waving goodbye to the Invisible Musical Friend!^-^
Because he is taking too long
Best soundtrack ever!
Oh my gosh! The invisible video game friend song cracked me up, I can't wait for Armikrog.
Armikrog will be great.
***** Yeah, but I still admire it for it's creativity (music, animation, setting, designs). I hope that keep making stories in this universe. But they do need better writers, there was heart to the script. In fact I was more interested in the backstory written on the walls than the main campaign. It's a damn shame. I still liked it though. I consider it a guilty pleasure, like clown porn- wait, what?
armikrog is great
Just 2 happy clay people enjoying their lunch break untill one of them gets abducted for a adventure of a lifetime ! At least he managed to eat at least 1 of his sandwiches !
you guys dont know the trip of playing this game as a 5 year old that doesnt speak english. Fever nightmares and fond memories.
I havent played this game in years, glad I remebered it.
I remember playing the intro over and over and over and over till I finally got to the actual game. And then I played this game till the disc got too scratched from my crappy ps one lmao good times
Now the player is one mean, agile skullmonkey. What a nice speed run of this fantastic game. Enjoyed it immensly :-)
The main gripe with this game is how fast Klaymen moves when he jumps. I dunno, I think you feel it more in the first few stages, where your brain still assumes that, after a jump, your movement in mid-air is slower than while running, but the thing is, it isn't. There is usually some acceleration and momentum, but here, there's no acceleration, Klaymen always moves at the speed he either walks or runs, and that makes precise jumps more difficult, especially when you want to land on a fast moving platform or enemy.
Other than that, the game seems to be a treat! Spectacular cutscenes and music, great art direction, the Level themes can get real creative and, while the bosses are criminally easy and there isn't that much variety in terms of platforming elements or gimmicks, there's still enough to keep you interested, like the floating snowballs, timed platforms, shrinking hearts and enlarging chevrons, glidey birds and air streams, lift beams, climbable vines, platforms on rails and hologram platforms, as well as the Amazing Drivy Finn and the Incredible Drivy Runn, which occasionally spice up the experience.
i LOVED that game, even got the soundtrack floating around somewhere, because i really liked those whacky tunes a lot, the stop motion sequences were genius... and the game itself wasn't too shabby either ;))
YNT Death Garden for me has been infuriatingly HARD! but boy! in this video, his Precision is incredibly marvelous! I mean, just look at him go! bravo
13:24 30:52 1:33:24
My favorite soundtrack
Holy shit you make this game look easy
Loved the game and the awesome soundtrack (bonus room song!!!) :D
My thumbs have PTSD after seeing YNT death gardens again
OOOHHHHHH! So this IS a sequel to Neverhood!
this needs to come out for Android so I can relive my childhood.
Or better yet, on the psn store!
Just buy it on amazon
Cannon's Blockhouse then I'd also need a PlayStation.
B Sox Just emulate it.
@@nickb.1857 If I only I could TUT

Thanks for the good old memories bro

“Universe enema” that probably raised a few eyebrows when people had their kids asking what an “enema” was
this is beautiful... I can't believe all I missed for not trying new things when I was a chilld. :( .... I missed skullmonkeys, metal gear, final fantasy 7, and many others... :(
my first video game on Playstation
Awesome !
Nostalgie !!!!
So I couldn't find this game for the longest time. I had forgotten what it was called and only had memories of the gameplay but nothing else. So today I went on google for hrs and I finally found it. This is a game me and my brother grew up on!! I'm so glad I was able to find the title!!!!
I loved playing this game when I had a ps1.
Hoo-Wee!
@16:00 the bonus level song LOL! I can't even xD
omg this takes me back. it was the scariest game to play as a kid. Took me forever to find this game's name :D
I grew up with this game too and absolutely nothing about it was scary in any way
this bring back some great memories.

MUITO OBRIGADO A ANOS QUE VENHO ATRAS DESSE JOGO MAIS NÃO ACHAVA ATRAVEZ DO SEU VIDEO ACHEI
AWESOME! I've played this before & it was hard to say the least!
so sad Klaymen is floating forever in space...
I wonder what new adventure he'll get himself into, if the creators are in the mood to continue where Kleyman left off to
@@notinmyworld8239 I came here after 3 years to watch all the cutscenes from the Neverhood and remind myself of my favourite game of my childhood and I found an old Doug Tennapel comic titled "Klato". You can find it on The Neverhood Wiki. Basically it a klaymen-ish character that says he is the grandson of Klayman and he wants to be a hero like his grandpa was (and he cuts his arm with his sword by accident). So it confirms the fact that Klaymen survived and maybe got back to the Neverhood. I guess Hoborg found him/teleported him. Considering how Armikrog turned out I don't think Doug has a plan for a game like TNH, sadly.

America in a Nutshell
Hahahaha beat me to it
don't be frightened don't run away
I remember my dad playing this and me being kinda creeped out by the claymation and visuals. XD
Anytime I hear the number '9' for anything I always think of it in the voice of the Skullmonkeys and resist the urge to repeat it.
I loved the video sequences :D
epic humor !
Jesus christ.. you make this game look so easy. The people watching will never understand how hard this game truly was, especially at the pace you played at. Well, unless they played it of course :p
I remember playing this a long time ago when I was young. I used to laugh at 11:39, but now I think that part is a little lame. Anyways, I won't ever forget playing this, and Abe's Oddysee.
OMG so nostalgic, such good memories
I look back to this game with both fond memories, as well as the nightmare fuel it was for 5 year old me.
I love this game so much, so sad took me few days to remember the name lol
Holy shit! Jesus christ its been years since ive played this. I member like it was yesterday.
For years I had no idea this was a sequel
+roarshach13 What??? Sequel to what???
polarbear242 An adventure game called the Neverhood. Just imagine a point and click where everything is made of clay. And I know, that was my reaction XD
The way klayman just shoves a spoon of beans into his eye is just hilarious
I'm in love with this game.
Doug TenNapel always makes good games. First Earthworm Jim, then The Neverhood, then Earthworm Jim 2, and now this :)
Holy shit this is a really amazing longplay
Para min isso não foi um jogo, foi uma obra de arte.
I love this game awhole lot glad i got it in my collection worth picking up very worth it.
My mom and I always laughed on the fire level when my cousin played and got burnt!
Aw, you forgot to demonstrate the enema power-up. Screen-clearing greatness.
Este juego fue mi infancia :'), me costo mucho recordar su nombre xD
you're really good at this game! cool!
I was watching this video when it was really dark so 30:37 scared me
I'd love to play this again.
I was fearing like hell from this game when I was 8 y/o I even now started to panic after watching it !!!!!
Nice gameplay, always wanted to see this game.
After you completed the game the silly guy (Joe?) appeared on the menu screen instead of Klaymen. Does it mean you can play the game again using him? :P Also what i the point of the score system?
Strange ending, maybe they wanted to make a continuation... Kickstarter? :P
this game really aged well!
yeah its grown really nice white hair
The last time I played this game was 2007. It's been almost 10 years now.
lol The soundtrack of the Sewer level is hilarious !
Very great game but so hard but old games was hard that time and PS1 one have so many good 2D games more in that days than now;)
Alright as much as I love this game I really gotta ask, who's smart idea was it to have this Ynt bit go on for 4 whole worlds?
man you are a pro playing it!!!
The beat in the first stage sounded an awful lot like the beat from the first stage in Donkey Kong Country.
You could say this is sorta like DKC, actually.
One of THE most horrendously hard 2D platformers... and you make it look so easy...
Holy shit this game looks amazing. Why have I never heard about this before?
this game is from 1999
i miss to play this game, ah memories
