This helped me out immensely! My TV's image quality for gaming has been improved, while latency and aliasing have also been cutted down. I can't thank you enough!

+Heisenberg Really good to hear, thank for letting me know and glad I could help so many, we can all enjoy the games even more and those visuals :-)
@@NXGamer is this video also good for input lag/ delay?

This is for how games, movie's and TV shows are intended to look. These also match up to what PC monitors come set at. Use these settings!!! :)
Marcus Terry-Bedford sharpness is ugly
Marcus Terry-Bedford k
CaliSupremeCat tbh i like sharpness... it just makes rpg's look so good...
Marcus Terry-Bedford i have game mode but it's so dark and can't change other settings when game mode is on
Marcus Terry-Bedford backlight 4 are you insane? Lool I have to turn that bitch up to 100 just for me to see what’s on on my tv. It ain’t a modern tv maybe that’ll explain why but it’s not ancient either
6 years later, and this is still very good and relevant advice. OLED was nowhere near mainstream when this video was published, but my LG looks great with these recommendations. Bravo!
Dude, I just want to give you a shout and say THANK YOU!
I tweaked my TV settings last night and WOW! These recommendations have transformed my games! Colors, lighting, shadow detail, everything looks absolutely amazing!
It feels like my PS4 Pro is now unlocked or something. Shit is crazy!
Great tutorial mate. I got LG UH 6500V connected to PC. After proper calibration my games looks great. Thank you once again mate. My settings:
mode - games, backlight - 70, contrast - 98, brightness - 38, sharpness - 4 / 100, colour - 58, tint - 0, colour temp - 0, colour gamut - wide, black lvl - high, all other setting turned off.
Capo San what about Gamma
Everything said in this video also applies to nintendo switch, thank you for this wonderful and concise guide!
Video starts at 5:21. Actually useful especially to understand if it’s full or limited
Amazing video. I’ve had my tv and console for a few years and I finally got the colours right. Thank you!
Wow this breathed new life in my games. Turned off all the stuff on the tv ,, Unreal how much better it looks and response time is incredible. Thank You!!!!!
Didn't have as high numbers such as 90+ on contrast but I adjusted it to my liking, I always look back to this video if my tv resets.
Everything looks janky on GTA5 on 100 Sharpness, Low Sharpness makes GTA look smooth as butter
Nice tutorial bro, from stepping down from a 144hz monitor to a 60hz tv this made a huge difference
Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for this extremely helpful video. My games look gorgeous now.
Azure Flame Appreciate that very much, thanks for the info and feedback.
Amazing guide, i'm using samsung HD Ready for my ps4 and never get the settings right, it support RGB full, but always get crushed black and limited is just too washed out
After using this, damn, my ps4 graphic just litterally increased, always jealous of my friend using a better full hd tv, now i can show off too :p
This turned out to be exactly the same settings as my tv's "game mode" , while using the mode "natural". Yet somehow it looks way better..
I can't even be bothered anymore, i've been obsessing over my calibration. This had positive results. thanks mate.
Dude, many thanks! After following this the image is a LOT better. It was way too dark and I had crushed blacks.
I also found out that I when setting TV to to full Range RGB, I had to set HDMI black level to normal. (it was set to low).
Also, the base settings you mention in the description for Samsung.. They are almost spot on.
Once again thank you, this helped a lot.
Finally someone who explains the settings of this model, i got the same tv. Keep it up the good work!
This man is a legend. I always had mine on full and used to wonder why I couldn't see in dark scenes
can someone just come here and do this for me haha
+James Reardon How can I help?
NX Gamer I've seen people say that you should set ur TV to warm because that is the closest thing to the display that developers use why didnt you do so
+Sergio St Omer 6500 Kelvin should be the target. It greatly depends on the TV what's the best setting. If white has a red tint it's lower then 6500K (too warm), if white has a blue tint it's higher then 6500K (too cold).
Some TV's default to 7000~7200K, some have the correct default, giving 6500K.
If you are used to a too high color temperture a alternation might look odd at first as the eyes also adjust for color temperature. If the TV was set a 7500K (let's say "standard") and you set it to 6500K ("warmer" for example) white will look slightly yellow in comparison. The best test pictures are black and white test photo's.
Lol right! I’m already putting a gun in my mouth. Cuz I have a PS4 and my Sony tv on game mode the image is bleached 😫
NX Gamer man please help.
First sorry for my English I’m italian
I have Samsung MU7000 and ps4pro

I know that there s someting to do but I don t know what
I tryed a lot but I can t fix it
Please help🙏🏻

Wow man this helped so much, i screamed when i got what i wanted. For the past 6 months i knew that my controller responded late by at least half a second and none of my friends belived me after i did this shit never did they beat me in FIFA again. Like this guy said in gaming terms it means a life time!
I go through the same thing, and my friends see stuff in game , then I do, but I have not figured out how to fix it lol
Sweet jesus why couldn'd I have found this video months ago. I've been playing in the dark! >.< Brilliant video, thanks
great to hear. I have an updated one in the works soon for movies and HDR/4K
Does ''HDMI Ultra HD Deep Color'' add delay aswell? I have this feature on my new 4k tv, although I dont know if adds delay or not.
+Donnie88 UHD deep color is for UHD content, if you use it for HD content you can damage your screen.. at least thats what i have found online after hours of research. but to be honest its a frustrating topic and there are not many solid answers, but id recommend leaving it off just to be safe until more info is available.
I've been poking around for ages (not really knowing what I was doing) but something always looked a little 'off'. Followed your advice and both the xbox1 and ps4 now both look like they've had physical upgrades. The changes in settings were very subtle, but the difference you've made is staggering. Cannot thank you enough.
I mean everything he said flew over my head, I completely lost him around when he started talking about USBs, full, limited and started showing graphics and shit. Yo my mans I need to watch a tutorial on YOUR ‘How To’ video. 🤦♂️
too much info all at once for both consoles just fucked with my head now im confused and lost... ps4
Same as. Shame too cos this guy is clearly legit.
or you're both just too stupid to comprehend the information.
***** exactly
Same here.
Ps4 cant help you now! Yku are lost forever in the depths of tv calibration!
This guy made me love my tv nd ps4 even more hahaha? I have a TCL 40 LED Basic tv and wasnt sure if i could get a good gaming experience since my tv is not branded. Turns out that ive been playing with the wrong setting all along hahahah thank you so much man, you saved me a lot of money. A massive thumbs up to you.
I know you did this video a long time ago but can you do one for when a game uses HDR. This video was very informative.
Huh
Wow... this is amazing! I've subscribed. Awesome video bro. 🔥
really great video. Thought I had my TV set up perfectly but I did a lot of the things you said not to do, high sharpness etc. Thanks!
thank you for this vid you've earned a lifetime subscription on my behalf
thank you very much. I have another one incoming soon for more content and newer sets, thanks
your the first person that I have found with the same TV as mine. I've been having problems, especially while playing GTA on ps4, everything is little, so I can't see the people .if you have any suggestions that could help me would be great,,.
3 years late but... turn down ur FOV put to around 60
I had no idea I could experience such amazing graphics. Thank you so much for this video. Its like the graphics got a 100 times better.
This video helped out so much, I’m so happy!!!
This video is very helpful my friend... thanks so much for sharing.
Decided to give this a go even though I thought my TV was fine while gaming, what a difference it has made, thanks mate !
can you please please please do one for 4k tvs and ps4?
This
^^^ that
I clicked the link on the ps4 and the image came up so it does display photos
He means off of a usb stick.
ExoticSpeedify this video was made in 2014 before you could do that.....
Thank you so much for that RGB range tip. I can't believe I had set incorrectly for so long. My games look MUCH better now!
The intro reminds me of DIe Antwoord "Ugly Boy"
+Tim Tindall Have not heard that but will check it out, thanks for watching
i guess....
Op can I just hire you to fix my ps4 screen setting...lol
ha, what is your main issue?
Thank you my friend, This video has helped me play the Witcher 3 because my tv was set wrong and I couldnt read the font very well. Now with the help of this very detailed video I am amazed on how something so easy to overlook has made the ultimate difference. Again thank you, take care of yourself
+Ryan Morris That is both great to hear and welcome that you took the time to comment, I appreciate it very much and glad to help :-)
WOW! this video is so helpful. Thank you so much!
No worries, glad it helped.
Whilst in PC mode on Samsung TVs the colour space is 'native' and cannot be altered. Do you recommend the 'Standard' colour temp? In PC mode you cannot change colour space settings.
yes, but it really comes down to what you prefer.
+NX Gamer In the video output setting on my PS4, I dont have the third option. All I have is Resolution, RGB Range and Deep Colour Output.
Don't use PC mode use game mode
set it through your graphics card through the pc...
a very big Thank you. I was having bad lag after I bought a new Samsung. turns out all I needed to do was turn the settings to game mode. it really did the trick. again THANK YOU.🙆
Hi i Own a Xbox one x, i use a Vizio D43-F1 4k UHD
My question. What is the best Color tuner settings . Hue, offset, brightness, etc etc.
Or what are the color tuner settings you currently using.
Try these:
Picture Mode: Calibrated*
Contrast: 50
Brightness: 52
Gamma: 2.4
Color: 51
Tint: 0
Sharpness: 0
Color Temperature: Normal
Backlight: 68
Film Mode: On
Color Space: Auto.
All other settings should be set to "off" or zero "0". Any individual R,G, or B color subcontrols, if present, should remain at their default settings.
Why me,I have HAIER with 32 inch. with the use of HDMI..I played my PS3 with semi-smooth FPS and less jaggies because of the Sharpness and Contrast are "0" then the Color and RGB are 70 to make colorful (but not always)...I played Alien Isolation and the Jaggies are removed than the older one I played (first time)...not lying but seems looks like semi-PS4 O.o
There is a lot of behind the scenes processing on tvs which can drastically effect jaggies , ive found that screens with NATIVE contrast ratios of 5000:1 help a lot and samsung are the guys with the prettiest screens . I have gone through about 30 screens in the last two years and i went from a £500 sony 42w700b (best tv for gaming 2014) to a £70 samsung monitor and have never looked back . You have very little input lag in comparrison to tvs and screen response time is phenomenal (helps a lot for motion blur ) the only extra i needed to buy was cheap pc speakers . Also people should know the dynamic range is faulty on xbox one and that you can achieve the full range by leaving the xbox on limited and putting your screen into full .
damon b okay but the TV Gaming is too expensive to other people including me
just got a 55 inch 4k HDR 10, Dolby Vision TV tonight and it is absolutely stunning.
and on The contraste check the sun does not disappear at all
No matter how high i adjust my contrast the sun still stays any ideas? 😂
YoungLJSmith14 Yes that is fine, as I say in the video some TV's will never lose the sun. So long as at around 90+ it should be ok, thanks
I'm using a 55lm6200 lg tv on my pc, recently discovered Full Range in Nvidia settings. It made things a bit too dark, but overall it has seemed better.
I confirmed thanks to your video that this TV does support full range, but most importantly, discovered contrast should be brought down from 100 to about 86, and brightness turned up to about 65.
Thanks!
what do i do with the backlight setting?
David Batchelor Crank it up lol :))))
Yeah turn it up to about to high or mid high casue the rest of the seeings in the video will darken your image
on the contrast test I can always see the sun no matter how high I adjust the contrast? any idea?
SRLD TV same problem here on PS4... I have a Panasonic TX-L47WT50E
I can see all Black levels on full RGB so I guess it's good then, but when going to the contrast I never can make the sun almost invisible... someone can explain this plz?
SmokeSum NL check the bars if your TV support Full Range
Saad Al Bloushi when I do the Black levels check I need to put brightness down and its fine, but when I do the contrast check the sun is visible and I need to push brightness up again to make the sun almost invisible but then my Black levels are bad again...
I cant get these 2 settings right cause doing one setting good makes the other setting bad.
So does my tv support RGB full or not then?
I also cant find any RGB setting on my tv, I have very high gamma settings (I can set it from 2.0 till 2.6) and I have set my tv to game mode, it really confuses me cause I also dont see any difference between limited or full RGB on my Ps4
SmokeSum NL just check your brightness level and set it, as for the contrast keep it on 85 or 8 you will be fine.
Dude, I have the same problem just an hour ago but then I just kept my brightness settings as xbox wanted and contrast sun I just did whatever looked okay even though the sun did not disappear. Also, do the blue light settings too, it sets your color right. Hmm what else, oh keep your t.v limited . Btw get Titanfall 2.. very good campaign mode.
THAAAAAANKKKKKK YOOUUUUU.. AFTER 2 WHOLE MONTH OF PLAYING AROOUND WIT MY 4K TV DISPLAY SETTINGS.... THEEREEEE ALMOST ZERO INPUT LAGG NOOWWW... THHAAAANNKK YOOUUUUUUUU ...I CAN FINALLY ENJOY MY PS4 NOOWWW ...THAAANNKK YOOUUUIUUU
damn you must have the worst TV imaginable to have input lag on console games period. there is literally no delay in picture on my 4k TV and game mode isn't even enabled and it's a bargain basement TCL from 2017.
I've found every single setting I've followed online makes the picture crap but doing my own settings by my eye sight alone is the best way and also rgb is not good when it comes to dark picture so I wouldn't recommendthat
get a ISF calibration your viewing sucks that reminds me I have to go and see a cinema movies again because it looks great why because the projector is calibrated for max performance
if your paying this much for a high-end TV why not get it ISF calibrated I bought a Oled b6 2016 and I wish I had it professionally calibrated well £450 to do it plus a £1700 TV why not get it done everyone who buys a TV use there own ugly settings cinema theaters calibrate there screen for the room and that's why movies look awesome at a cinema why not have the same benefits astleast it follows standards
is like some next level graphics that were hidden! lmao
LOL. You're console/PC will only play games as well as your TV/monitor will allow. Always optimize your TV for the best results, unfortunately monitors don't have the overall quality of a TV but do have a select few customize able options to optimize as well. A better quality TV or monitor will always help as well. Lot of low end sh*t out there.
@Chrisjb1983 lol you are PC paing 1K+ for a PC similar to console
@@denissadrija164 That's a good joke, not like I haven't heard it before.
Great video, this topic needs more awareness. If your lucky you can find a calibration guide for your exact T.V. (don't just go by brand)
I've got a Samsung 4K SUHD tv. Needless to say... these settings made the display look like dull, bland, and dark shit. Guess I'll just have to find another tutorial designed for that kind of tv. Nice video though!
because u have rgb limited on your tv in default :) u must set on full :) on samsung is black level - low , normal, or just like that.. low is rgb limited, normal is rgb full
bro i did what you said here and it made the screen look washed out. both tv and ps4 are on full and my tv supports full range.
you need to have brightness in tv on default :) 45 for you?
u need this on game mode :) without any dynamic cotrast/black etc
yeah its 45 on default how did you know? :D
but wouldn't that make the screen too dark? its on 56 now following the advice in this video.
default brightness in tv is ok if u have good rgb settings :) Default brightness in games is ok too if u have good rgb setitings :)
What about Panasonic plasma tv?
Try to find professional calibrated settings on forums for your Panasonic plasma TV, I did the same. I have a Panasonic gt60, only oled can beat that TV.
@pietro scarpa No, the Samsung KS8000 trashes your Panasonic all day
OLED is still better for picture quality. for gaming none of those tv's are good.
Jexiel Aviles indeed oled is the best picture quality that you can get right now, but I think that only LG is making them. The rest of the manufacturers are still rolling with led tv's. 😥
Pietro Scarpa Yeah I have the 1080p version OLED it's pretty sweet. I use the D series vizio 4k for games though, 13.4 ms input lag.
THAT PART OF THE VIDEO WHICH EXPLAINES BLURRING REALLY HELPED ME OUT!!! THANKS ALOT
+Ajpreet Singh Happy to help and glad you now have a better picture :-) thanks
the game you were playing at first looked sick can you tell me the name of it and great video

hey there! ur download link for the range test is not working anymore :'(
my bad is cool !
Took the time to work through this, really helped. My settings before your guide had the brightness too high, the contrast too low and was missing out on the "PC" mode of my TV (the only alternatives being "Auto" and "Video").
In the end I had to tone down the contrast a bit compared to what I had after finishing with your instructions. Horizon Zero Dawn has a nice contrast-brightness-picture, comparable to your pics and I noticed that while brightness was okay and let me "barely see" the black circle, the white circle was totally invisible. Lowering contrast fixed it.
Great guide, keep it up. Upvoted and subscribed. :)
PS: A tipp for the first Range Check picture, the one we are supposed to download. It works now within the PS4 browser. Just open the picture in fullscreen mode, then use L3 to zoom in and the R3 to scroll and swipe until the picture is centered. Voilá. ^^
Maybe you could add this to this video via onscreen tooltips during this section of the video.
Settings for a panasonic tv please?
On forums you can find professional calibrated settings for your TV.
its ok I bought a benq monitor anyways so im good
Sorry I did not see this message I do try and reply to everyone, you all sorted now?
haha yah i am its ok man monitors are good!:D
What about the backlight on the LG?
What is recommended?
Francisco del Valle Ojeda 50%.
Thank you guys, you are the best!
Happy christmas for all!
100% anything lower looks not vibrant atleast in my TV
i use 100%. on my tv its recommended to use 100% as it will reduce input lag.
Thanks very much
I thought its a 9 year old guide this might not work but i just did what was told in the video and now i can even play valorant like fast paced game on my tv while connected to my PC
Only worth it if you are a bloody comp gamer, with game mode on on my sony it looks shit compared to normal mode with settings on.
Fucking hell - so bloody complicated!
BearCubster Facts
5:17 Did anyone notice how he changed his tone from energetic to bored😂
For all Samsung users use ZERO sharpness in 1080p.
Thank you!! Looks better!!
No way, I have it on 90-100% because in PC Mode it's already massively soft. Just in Game Mode, I agree, less is better. But PC Mode already makes it softer by a huge amount and even increasing sharpness to 100% barely makes a difference.
+Giorgos Boultadakis Welcome :)
+Coody-Baroody PC Mode doesn't require sharpness if you're sitting at an appropriate distance or else fonts starts to have a halo effect which is very disturbing.
+delivrex Thank so you much!
Gaming monitor bitches.
or get a good tv my games look a lot better on my 60 inch than they do on my lads monitor 22 inch I think
+Cairo Murphy gaming monitors most often have lesser quality pictures then TV, they are stripped of features that increase picture quality to attain better response.
+Nesqwuik price can mean very little on the monitor market , they tend to pack a lot of useless features into monitors as with tvs and with monitors you have many different types of screen . Best monitor ive ever played on for console was a dell ultra sharp from 8 years ago which ran hdmi at 1950x1200 ips worth about 45 quid now if ya can get em and im still looking to replace my 2015 samsung lol
i just did this man, fantastic. my hisense 4k tv supports full rgb range :)
WHY have the PS4 resolution to automatic? Lock it to 1080p instead of automatic LOL
Dust i was wondering that. Every video i see they have it on auto. Should i switch to 1080p?
Yes please do. You will get the most out of the PS4. Every game will look better than you remember, as well as applications like netflix.
Thanks man ill try that rn. Do you know what automatic does?
Automatic makes the PS4 perform lazy.
It makes the PS4 fluctuate between 720p and 1080p resolution.
Automatic makes games look like PS3 In my opinion. When you lock the resolution to 1080p you are truly getting the most out of what you paid for. Please spread the word about this crucial setting to your friends so they can see what you are seeing (graphically and with a better frame rate.) Some of my friends have 4K TV sets and showed them and they instantly saw the sharper detail. What games are you playing if you don't mind me asking?
Nice thanks im tell my friend rn and see if he notices & i just bought a ps4 so all i have is GTA and BO3
If everyone explained things as clearly as u do, the world would be a lot better. Great vid!
+Micr0Bite Appreciate that very much, glad it helped thanks
+NX Gamer No problem man.
Need an updated one please.
yo, thank you! this helped a ton. wow. 3 years later and it still works. fucking dope
this video is a must for tv gaming, thank you for blessing is with this
We need a video like this for next gen consoles…ps5 and series x!
Cheers for this I did not even know this worked for PS4, also only realized about PC mode by investigation for Dreamcast VGA upscale by making the tv do the upscale.
I did not even know the xbox one have that feature ,thanks great tutorial :)
+Pablo R Great, thanks for letting me know
Great video helps a lot for my older non 4K television thank you
Just helped me a lot as I'm forced to use an older tv while I save for new monitor 🎉
This did seem to help a lot. Although, the guide pictures didn't help much. What I ultimately wound up doing is just pausing some of the frames of the Metro footage you had, brought it up on my own ps4, and then tried to match it as close as I could to yours, and it worked pretty well - looks amazing on bloodborne and BF4 as well. Some of it does still look a LITTLE too dark, but nothing major. The blacks look black while still having a great deal of detail. I have a 1080p tv, but it's kinda cheap so there's only so much I can adjust with it. So yeah, guide helped. Thanks a ton!
I thought my TV colour was absolute crap, and it's a smart TV. NOW I see why all my games had practically no contrast whatsoever. Thanks!
Just found your channel, but man had to comment on this one. Fantastically detailed walk-thru... where were you 3 years ago when I was google searching every option on my new TV. Thanks either way, keep up the good work.
+Seann Miller Really appreciate that, glad it helped and big thanks for watching, commenting and subscribing :-)
Nice video, really helped me out and made my gaming not only look better but also play much better. Subscribed
Always good to hear, glad it helped and thanks for the sub :-)
You need to do an upate version of this awesome video
I highly recommend this video.....it just made my day
It's absolute hell playing old consoles (480i/p) on modern TVs that don't have game mode or an option to disable post processing effects. It makes old arcade games sometimes unplayable. I didn't realize how truly bad the upscaling lag can be when you're filling in the missing pixels to stretch the image while the console is already calculating the next big of game logic. As clunky and fuzzy as they are, sometimes a CRT is still the best option for older consoles.
that beat at the beginning is tight!! had to rewind it lol
+Young KD KC Oh yeah...Ibiza beats incomming lol
+NX Gamer 👍already👌
thanks alot I just bought a Samsung led for gaming and didn't feel I was getting the full potential out of it but thank s to you my KD is back on the rise😈
+Tirrell Poole Great stuff, thanks
This video deserves an update with hdr and the new 4K tvs etc.
best video i found today. My salute sir.
Thanks man. I did this on my ps3 and even navigating through the XMB menu screen is faster.
