My mom used to play this on the piano to help us sleep. We lost her to a rare sickness in 2015. I just stumbled across this and broke down. But a good kind of break down ♥️ RIP, mom. And thank you to this channel for the beautiful memory
I cried listening to it. This was one of my piano teacher's all time favourite. We have a deep bond like mother and son. But we lost touch for so many years. I can only connect to her via this piece. I am gonna master it, in her loving memory
The thing about classical music is, even if you are not particularly into it (which I'm not) it doesn't matter what walk of life you're from, or what music you are into, there will be a few pieces that resonate with you, no matter who you are. This piece is one of my few, thank you for posting. Its not only a beautiful piece of music played perfectly, but also really interesting to see just how complicated a piece it is 😊
The way he voices the outer melody and bass line, and yet manages to keep the arpeggios smooth, like a stream of water running through the entire piece... it's just masterful.
Old piano pieces really hits different when you like classical/romantic genre. It just give emotions that I can rarely found in new songs now, even in genre that I enjoy like city pop, funky/electro (daft punk), or even rap. Really good interpretation and such a wonderful piece to listen. Thanks (:
Your performance was excellent. This piece can either sound like a series of arpeggiated broken chords with a muddy melody or it can have a song without words ams nocturne like lyricism. It all depends on the pianist's control, balance, and nuanced touch. It isn't difficult to allow the arpeggiated accompaniment (not to mention LH) to over power the melody and dominate the work. Your beautiful melodic performance speaks to your talent and training
Your technique is fantastic! I am glad your teacher helped you learn this iconic piece! You are a gifted pianist and this piece is not easy! I love your left hand melody work and the trills of the left hand are also a bit tricky. Even the way the right hand melody is interwoven requires much concentration and your finger work and dynamics are just perfect! Played in the recitals of my youth, I am not sure I could even tackle this one anymore due to my dexterity issues, so I will live vicariously through you in the moment :-) BRAVO!!! ~Jackie
Thanks so much! I think it can, what I do is play slowly first and focus on making the melody notes louder. Then flatten the fingers on the harmony. My teacher is really good too and I'm lucky to have him as a teacher
@@TheFlamingPiano You're welcome!! Your way of studying and that great teacher, along with your own great passion, have allowed you to be extremely good at what you do. Really enjoying it!!
I love this, seeing a scrolling bar score, expecting midi sounds to come out or the player hitting the keys robotically to hit as many notes as possible. And then actual music flows out. I didn't realise that the animation was probably added later
Absolutely gorgeous performance, my friend!! I've always loved Schubert, and especially this composition. Your attention to dynamics is amazing (in addition to your technical proficiency, of course). Huge like 213! Thanks again for visiting and listening to my music. Best wishes, Michelle :-)
My favorite music piece when I feel exhausted at the end of the day. I used to listen to pianist Kristen Zimmerman's rendition. But, this has a pretty good rendition with nice sensitivity and sensuality.
I wanted to thank you for your visit to my channel, friend. Oh, I absolutely adore this piece, it has to be one of the most beautiful pieces ever written!! You played it so beautifully and remarkably well, I was captured by your performance from the beginning to the end. Thank you for this marvelous share!!
Love Schubert! This is one of my favourite pieces! It has a beautiful, timeless quality that captures a certain nostalgia and maybe sadness! Wonderful! Have a great night! Best wishes, Mary and Harry 🌸🌼🌺🌹💐
In my mind I thought it took 2 piano players to play this I heard it an episode of Smallville Lex Luthor mother Liilian was playing it and you do this song justice 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a divine interpretation and performance of this famous impromptu!! I love Schubert's work and you carry it out with great precision and style. Your dynamics are phenomenal! BRAVO Jason!!! ~Jackie
@@TheFlamingPiano You are very welcome Jason! I've said before, you really have a great teacher, plus you are a phenomenal student!! I miss playing this....ah....the old days....that lush and gorgeous bass line with it's beautiful second voice and those left hand trills. Such a satisfying piece to play and I'm sure it felt great the day you mastered it :-)
Beautiful rendition of this piece! You bring the melody out so cleanly, even though your hand is playing other things. That is a hard trick to master. Congrats :)
Thanks so much! Yes it is; a tip is to try playing with flat fingers for more velocity control. It's also easier to do here than on an upright btw. What I find hard is playing a note louder than the others in a block chord
