OMG!! 14 years ago!!! I was one of the featured extras in that music video. I was number 7. Yes lots of work but it was a lot of fun. The band was really nice❤️
Thats awesome! Funny, thats what brought me back to this video, I was at a KMFDM show a few nights ago and while washing my hands in the venues bathroom I noticed a girl next to me had a birthday massacre pop socket on her phone. After complimenting her on it, she mentioned she was in this video, I believe she said she was number" 33". Can't remember now but thought that was cool, lol. The birthday massacre has been one of my faves for about 20 years now, definitely must be a cool memory to be in one of their videos 💜
Celldweller is probably the only other artist I can name off-hand that fuses electronica and traditional instrumentation this well. Been rocking TBM for over a decade.
Went out to see 'em last year. Let's just say I was a bit too excited, and got too damn hammered which led me to leave the venue early. Ended up on a different side of town shortly after, trying to nap on the side of the road in some desert landscaping (ended up getting covered by ants). Anyhow! Wish that I seen their entire performance. One of my honest regrets in life.
This song is about feeling caged with the deep feelings you have for someone who keeps hurting you over and over again. Even though you see it coming, you can’t defend yourself from the pain they are about to inflict yet you continue to take their abuse because you love them. I’m sorry for anyone relating to this song. I hope all of you find someone who treats you well.
@@H000REI That's the impression I get from the lyrics and the video as well. "a boyish notion of false emotion" it implies a small crush "these words are spoken despite my love" I take it to mean suffering verbal abuse despite showing love and devotion. "my eyes are open now" awakening to the fact that what you believed was a lie. "It's a glass cage so I can't pretend" despite knowing that'd be easy to escape and even able to see freedom they opt to stay. "You hide beneath the physical" Not sure on this line but it could mean that they've been groomed to the point where the focus of their interest no longer has to even be present to be in their mind. "I see it coming but I can't defend" Knowing the abuse is about to happen but afraid to make their focus leave they don't defend themselves. "You cut so deep my belief is gone" They've been hurt so badly they've realized what they're putting up with and can finally break their cage and fight back.

No such thing as an "Edgy Phase" either you like the music or you don't. People who say it's "just a Phase" Don't understand how you would like such a thing and that you are forcing yourself to like it.
2022 and still loving this song AND this band, saw them in Nottingham on the 9th and they were fabulous and Chibi really interacts with the audience which I love when artists do that ❤️ I just wish they had more recognition because they deserve it.
Why can't people just comment purley on how amazing this video is? It's genius. It's not something you can explain you just watch and know. The lyrics and the concept conect symetrically-bowing down and giving up everything you have to another being be it may the person you're in a relationship with or a God. You're blinded by your love for them but it's a false love or "false devotion" because they want you to believe their lies until you're left broken with nothing.
I don't care if this band is "emo" "egdy" or whatever you want to call it. What I care about is the music and how awesome it is! Pandora helps me find another great band!
reficul1984 The Birthday Massacre is Goth Rock with a mixture of New Wave, with 80's vibes... They surely have influencies by bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Clan Of Xymox etc... so, yes... TBM have a lot of New Wave in his music.
DethklawExodus Industrial? Which band do you figure was the biggest influence? Throbbing Gristle, Einsturzende Neubauten, Laibach, Cabaret Voltaire, Muslimgauze, SPK, Test Dept, or... somebody else? NON? Z'ev? Sorry, I can't place them.
Ok but... Why is no one anywhere talking about the classic Sonic the Hedgehog spin sound effect hidden in the song? Listen at around 3:30 to 3:35, there are about 5 of 6 spins, possibly followed by a dash. I searched far and wide for any mention of this online and found nothing. What is this conspiracy? I'm on to you now, Dave Ogilvie! (...or whoever did the sound mixing for the Walking with Strangers album)
Listening to the lyrics now that I’m older hits different. You can see it’s about two people that are together and disconnecting slowly and feeling everything you thought was there was simply never there to begin with. Each interaction hurting you more. You just want to break free from it.
I remember when there is only almost 2 million views for this music video? And now its almost 6 million, I never realized how long I've been listening to this masterpiece wow

@Rick94rr I wish that MTV could air music videos again. That would be really great, but the music on that station we have today is just mainstream rap music and the television shows we've got are things about teenage girls being pregnant w/ children.
I am sad that i haven't heard of this band before. I'm glad i was told about it cause i expected it to be something it wasn't and i'm pleasantly surprised

It is indeed pure magic! in fact, it's far more magical than Disney, Pixar, the MCU or any hyped-up movie franchise you could imagine.

Twelve years later and this is still such a good music video.
Так мало просмотров на самом главном клипе? Вы серьëзно! Он заслуживает большого!
All I can think while watching the video is "notice me sempai" but I love the band and this song, Blue is my favorite song though
No such thing as an "Edgy Phase" either you like the music or you don't. People who say it's "just a Phase" Don't understand how you would like such a thing and that you are forcing yourself to like it.
Still my favorite band 😍
Love it!!😃👌🏻
Been a fan since 2008 this band is cool
How did i discover this perfect band now??? Addicted to this band. I'm a big fan💞
Ja też nie mogę ich przestać słuchać zajebista nuta i zajebisty wokal pierwsza liga 👍👍👍
TBM is kind of like THC. I feel high but the cause is of course from music - the elevating god-level music of The Birthday Massacre.
Welcome to the team :)
Yeah they kind of have that effect on people. 💜
2024! Greetings from Lima - Perú - SouthAmerica ! ❤
They deserve so much more recognition
I can't believe I just found out about this band yesterday. It's a crime they aren't more famous.
luv this
I don't care if this band is "emo" "egdy" or whatever you want to call it. What I care about is the music and how awesome it is! Pandora helps me find another great band!
masterofbloopers The Birthday Massacre is not emo. It's New Wave Goth
Alana Robertson there is nothing new wave about this band.
reficul1984 The Birthday Massacre is Goth Rock with a mixture of New Wave, with 80's vibes...
They surely have influencies by bands like The Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Clan Of Xymox etc...
so, yes... TBM have a lot of New Wave in his music.
More like industrial/NuMetal
DethklawExodus Industrial?
Which band do you figure was the biggest influence?
Throbbing Gristle,
Einsturzende Neubauten,
Laibach,
Cabaret Voltaire,
Muslimgauze,
SPK,
Test Dept,
or... somebody else? NON? Z'ev?
Sorry, I can't place them.
Happy 10yr anniversary of this video... still a huge fan!!! Keep rocking!
2021 activo!!
Still holds up in 2022
Greatest song
Holy shit, this came out ten years ago??
The Betty Boop Academy?
Listening to the lyrics now that I’m older hits different. You can see it’s about two people that are together and disconnecting slowly and feeling everything you thought was there was simply never there to begin with. Each interaction hurting you more. You just want to break free from it.
I remember when there is only almost 2 million views for this music video? And now its almost 6 million, I never realized how long I've been listening to this masterpiece wow
such beautiful vocals. as all of her music
14 years and sounds like uploaded on SC in this morning. Ideal
I love the song, but i also love the visuals in this vid. Fantastic work, glad i found this band a couple of weeks ago, wish i found them earlier
"We have a Myspace blog with Directors comments here"
Oh shit now you know it's old.
I love this video so much
I discovered this like 7 years ago, when MTV aired music at midnight.
+Rick94rr About 8 years for me but through seeing them at a music venue one night. They're were really awesome people to meet in person back in the day and apparently they still are.
@Rick94rr I wish that MTV could air music videos again. That would be really great, but the music on that station we have today is just mainstream rap music and the television shows we've got are things about teenage girls being pregnant w/ children.
Just jammed to their concert in Denver ..fantastic as always 🤘🔉🔊🔊🎶🔥🔥
Super groovy
I've been listening to this amazing band for 6 years and still love them!
Absolutely love this track . The band as a whole are awesome 😍💜🖤🔥🤟
I am sad that i haven't heard of this band before. I'm glad i was told about it cause i expected it to be something it wasn't and i'm pleasantly surprised
Here I am finding about it just now
A week ago I played this on my phone and my sister asked what's the title of the song and now it's her favorite
I honestly was not expecting to be impressed by this.
They have a really good sound.
I keep coming back to this one particular song

Great song and great video from TBM. Chibi was born to perform.
Мелонхоличный завораживающий голос под тяжёлый рок очень зашёл🔥🤘
One of my fav gothic songs ❤
The Birthday Massacre sempre será uma das melhores bandas do mundo 🤘🏻
Damn I love this fucking band.......
WHAT A AMAZING SONG AND VIDEO
I'm glad I found this band... Like they're probably my second favorite band ever now :)
Yeah man! :D
Fletchers Flesh Yeah, I did some research about them... They've been around for some time... I wish I would have found them much earlier... Hope I'm not too late haha
+yunaeso glad you did find them, very unique and amazing band. Been listening to em since early 2000s first album I heard was Nothing and Nowhere in 2002 or 3 I think? and they stole me and I was hooked. Ive seen em 9 times and I'm seeing them Oct 30 :D they're such awesome people too, definitely see them if you can.
+Daniel Holmes I'm sure they'll do a Europe tour or something again
+yunaeso they are my second fav also!!!
I met this girl on MySpace, and she ended up being really good friends with me. She told me I reminded her of Chibi from The Birthday Massacre. If it weren’t for her, I would never of known of this amazing band. We lost touch, so I’ll always think of her when I listen to this. ❤️
I found this band thanks to a girl on Yahoo Answers who linked their "Happy Birthday" song. It happened like...9 years ago? Time goes by so fast.
so good
I love this band!!! You are an amazing band and Chibi you guys rock,!!!
I discovered TBM 10 years ago and this was the song that started it all! My long-standing favourite band. 💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
i remember listening to this in middle school when it was released, and wish i could go back
@@ruschev2 same! I was 14. Kinda wish I could too but then we also wouldn't have their last 3 albums!
I just now discovered them and I'm impressed
Brilliant music , composition and melodies, pure genius !
Todo ano voltando aqui só pra lembrar que sempre vai ser minha favorita ❤
Still awesome after all of these years, and the band keeps getting better
17 year? Omg el tiempo pasa rapido❤
this is giving me the "another brick in the wall" vibes
i love it
The Great Horned homosexualRat pOroh
how. i mean cool, but what
@@heavenlything mostly the music video. The masks, setting, the conclusion where everyone throws paper and masks and shit. Just the general tone of the music video
I agree with you on what they put out as far as that particular pink floyd album but I noticed they have a lot of 80s influence in their music
I love it..!
Wow these guys have energy (O _ O). That's real stage presence.
I hate myself for only knowing this band this 2018 😭😭 where have I been this 10 years?! Love it!! Also the name of their band remind me of the anime "Death Note" (*cough* Beyond Birthday *cough* L.A.B.B. *cough*)
Lo mejor de lo mejor tiempasos
So underrated. You're awesome, guys, and one and only unspeakably adorable gal, of course:) Live long & be happy.
Los escucho desde el 2006 y nunca me decepcionan álbum tras álbum.. son espectaculares 💀💀💀
Just about perfect!
Música perfeita, videoclipe perfeito
