I want Noel's house party back on Sat night TV. This would be amazing if it was back on again. Would be a viewing figures winner for Saturday night. Come on, NHP for 2022! Noel's such a great presenter, we miss him not been on TV for a while.
Won't happen he lives in New Zeeland now and the BBC hate anything fun or funny

I miss TV like this, was cult viewing and not to be missed Saturday night TV ! Unlike the reality crap we have to contend with now... Bring it back !
This show was out of control. I loved it.
I miss sitting down with the family for our Saturday night homemade stir fry and chips to watch Noel's House Party, Gladiators, and You Bet. The good old days when life made sense and telly was worth the license fee :P

That was awesome, took me straight back to my childhood! Live and Kicking in the morning and NHP and The Generation Game in the evening. Who was the guy that pranks Noel though, the one wearing what looks like a black fleece?

When Saturday nights were worth staying in for. Not the rubbish we have now. Now it's all Little Mix shite, Strictly Come Dancing etc. Should bring Noel back. He was brilliant. Worth licence the fee alone.
Dad's Army, Big Break, Generation Game, Noel's House Party and Casualty - that was the typical Saturday prime time schedule for the early to mid 1990s.

I use to watch this when I was 5 years old it ran from when I was only a baby from November I was to young to watch the first few series.

This was the last of the older style Noel's House Party. From autumn 1996 the opening titles were changed and the music was dumped. They also made changes to the set. I think this was the starting point of the programme's decline. This was the last hurrah for the better version of the House Party.
Completely agree it sounds silly but the moment they changed the music that was the start of the end. As you said changes to the set didn't help. Also sadly they started to use blobby a bit to much where it just went to far.
Yes, I agree. Amazing that Noel even admitted in an interview with Parkinson in around 2006 that he felt 1995/96 would have been the proper time to end, but they were on a high.

This really was the end of House Party at its peak, March 1996. They really should have ended with the 100th episode. Come October 1996 it was all change, new music, new titles, new house design, new routines all of which started the plummet down in the ratings.

Noel himself admitted he felt he should have quiet after the 1995-1996 series, but it was still No.1 ratings wise, and the massive revamp in autumn 1996 ruined the show and it never climbed back. The worse was yet to come, especially in 1997-1998 series.

@97channel To be fair, the suggestion was that the changes were imposed not by the production team but by the BBC in response to falling ratings, which after three years was always going to happen.
No matter how good an entertainment show is, viewers will start to tire of it after a while and in the case of NHP, there are only so many innovations and surprises you can do before they start to look a bit contrived and obvious.

Noel must have had some idea the production team were going to get him, on the last show of the series and especially the 100th. He had been doing the show for five years by then, how could he not have known NTV would nab him?

NHP's dreadful demise happened because the BBC refused to accept that the show had a limited shelf-life, hence they flogged the horse long after it had deceased.
Shouldn’t this technical;y be the 104th episode? Since most of the seasons run for 21-22 episodes each

The guy who played the queen is now rather well known for his performances as the queen , prince Charles and several other well known English people.
Poor old Joan Collins I wonder how much the bbc payed out for that appearance. Was she still playing alexis then ? God knows she acted like her character here . Probably had to fork over a fortune dame Joan is well known for her rather short temper.

Elaborate double-treble bluff NTV set ups. Grab-A-Grand going mental with some mad engines from a plane that had crashed into the house. Weird ongoing joke of the show running out of time and being cut off in full swing.
The show had a staple of strong core elements which should have been labelled "DO NOT TOUCH!". They could, and should, have tried new things around those. Not take them all apart.
