Let's not forget the following difference from EDH. "[...]in addition to the ability to put the Commander back into the Command Zone if it would go to the graveyard or be exiled, you may do so also if it would be put into your library."
Actually this used to be a difference, but the rules regarding commanders leaving the battlefield are now unified between the two formats: mtgcommander.net/rules.php (point 9). I believe DC was the first to eliminate "tucking" and the multiplayer committee changed their rule to match some time later. I know the DC website still implies that it's a difference, but I think it's just because no one bothered to update it ^-^
Duel commander feels pretty healthy right now. A lot of stuff is viable. I like this video a lot actually. Great production value. I hope to see a lot more videos
I agree - the format seems like it's in great shape right now. And thanks for the kind words! My goal is to upload at least 1 video every week, so stay tuned :D
Thank you for making such great content, I just played in my first every tournament with Samut and went 1-2, with the knowledge I've gained of my meta I've decided to build Radha, Heir to Keld Stompy. I was wondering if you could brew a Stompy deck with her!! Best wishes!
Awesome! Radha Stompy can be a very strong deck. Cards like Glorybringer and Thundermaw Hellkite are extremely good and underrated in DC IMHO. Rhonas is another good Stompy commander. I have already brewed a Radha Ponza (land destruction) deck which you can view here: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/radha-ponza/?cb=1517484626 and a Xenagos "Stompy" (sort-of) deck which you can view here: tappedout.net/mtg-decks/01-02-18-xenagos-god-of-revels/?cb=1517485087. Hopefully those might give you some ideas. I'm going to try to record some videos with one of these decks soon as well. Good luck!
Hey! Thanks for the video, my friend and I wanted to try out this format and this was very informative. What do you think about leaving the starting life at 40, since 20 seems so low when you get all the thrashing and EDH generally focuses more on building up certain boardstates etc. 20 life just seems like „Okay, why don’t we just play something like STD etc.“
Hey great video but I just wanted to say that against a life gain deck commander damage could be helpful, and in duel commander with such low life, infect may not be as effective or necessary. I play Mereike Re Berit as my Duel Commander.
Lack of rotation, no need of running 4 of cost heavy staples for one deck, flexibility in changing different playstyles, and no need for drama and diplomacy. I see it as normal Magic for people who enjoy Commander Deckbuilding than Modern or Pioneer.

Wouldn't dual commander be slowly changed to how brawl is on mtg arena. It is literally the 1v1 official mtg commander.
Love this introduction video, great stuff! I seriously need to do an intro for my channel haha
Thanks! :D
Thanks for the Video! Explained alot, but damn everytime i heared a sound effect it spooked me!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll be sure to be more careful about that in the future :)
Is this format best of 3?
It is absolutely not just French, I was playing EDH for 2 long before 2007. More like 2003.
The "Duel" 1v1 version started in french

Hey :) is the Lord of the rings Precon Commander Deck Food and Felloship ok for duel commander? Or should i choose another precon commander deck?
Where can I find people to play 1v1 on spelltable?
I dont get why akiri line slinger got banned. Commander bans seem to be random.
They are in this format for losers
@@carlosgomez8883 what do you mean?
Aggro is a bit too good 1v1.testing going back to 4o life to try and even things out vs slower decks.
So.. why not just play regular magic though? I'm getting back in from the 90's and just don't understand the commander craze.

@@ericyang8474 honestly pauper solves a lot of those problems, but i still see the appeal of duel commander
Dat low T.
