- The driven synth and drums from Swatty, Will, Jack, and Roberto gives the song motivation and movement and it contrasts SO PERFECTLY with the gentle but powerful vocals from Arielle and Ebony (especially in the bridge section WOW)!

Shoutout to the editor and camera director (Dom and Dom) who clearly understood the assignment and elevated an already awesome performance!
Could you do something in Spanish, for example Zoe or Natalia Laforcade, I love what you do, keep it up
This is one of those rare covers that takes the song to a different place. I especially enjoyed the harmonies over the bridge.
agreed
Angelic voices. Surpassingly beautiful harmonies. There is something slightly genius about the arrangement. Like the cover of It’s the End of the World, the subtle melancholic turns are sublime. Just wow. This is simply beautiful. Thank you.
Really unique take on this song. Only the barest hints of the original melody are here, but the ethereal vibe compliments the essence of the lyrics nicely. I was entranced. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my gosh, this style took me to another place....and a sweet scent..
Goodness. This has to be one of the best covers of a song I've heard. You can still hear bits of the original, but it's way different and the mood is blissful. Claps for everyone involved. Added to my repeater playlist.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is what has been missing in Western pop for about the last 20 years - really strong vocals that are strong enough to handle the band doing some great stuff ie. not minimalist accompaniment for fear of overshadowing the voice. If you listen to Japanese pop, the level of musicianship is so high that you get incredible bass slapping and guitar or keys soloing all over the vocals without detracting from anyone - the sum of the parts is greater than the whole. The closest thing we've had before Magaziine is Scary Pockets and Vulfpeck and I'm happy to see how popular actual high-level musicianship is becoming (assuming we are not just in our own music echo chamber here 😉)
This is genuinely of the best covers I’ve ever heard on UA-cam. Goodness. Gracious.😥😧
agreed! it arrests your attention! ive played it 20 times today.
My fave Magaziine cover yet!! 😍😍😍😍
Mr Petty is smiling..... Wow!
Fabulous harmonic work by Arielle and Ebony. Awesone intonation control.
This soothed my brain.
I derived immense pleasure from listening to this song. The lyrics of this song have acquired a renewed significance, evoking a profounder sense of melancholy and light irony.
FINALLY--a reharmonization that goes all the way! (rather than the typical "We're gonna change a couple chords just to be different and kill the hook" thing y'all do so often).
This is spectacular. really amazing. The vocals are brilliant as is the arrangement. double-plus good.
I love the idea of turning a rock song into a blissful, feathery synth pop tune. Incredible!
I've never seen Jack so chill
😂I was wondering if if was really him!
Incredible reimainging of this song!
By far best Magazine cover yet. Stunning vocals
Wow! The vocal arraignments were so cool. And beautifully delivered. THAT was a sonic treat!
The harmonies in the second verse are just insanely good! So cool with little surprise notes every now and then.
Wow! It's like being serenaded by a pair of angels! This is such a fantastic cover!
This feels like Tom Petty by way of Trent Reznor. Incredible arrangement.
Maybe some Dolly Parton in there as well
The dissonance in the vocals is 🔥!
THANK YOU! I have hardly ever heard something so tender and perfect
Oh my god!! Such harmony So stunning.. amazing version…
Most surprising reinvention you've done in a while. Love it!
Just from another world ... WOW
Pure eargasm!
I like bringing the original melody back in the middle break. Interpretation is beautiful. I did something along these lines with Once in a Lifetime. Love taking an upbeat vibe song and exploring the darkness in the lyrics, slowing it all down, making it a little spooky.
GREAT work.
love the original song, but this oh man, this is gold as well.. never heard such a good unique sound
I appreciate new directions for covers but I'm not sure this one really works. Other stuff so far I'm bouncing between the synths and the vocals with enjoyment. I feel like the synths and the vocals are just kind of getting in the way of each other on this one.
i may call this a new song and click baited
Brilliant - the best cover of this amazing song I have ever heard.
Now that is what you call a cover.
Synth heaven! ❤
This music and singing is WAY TOO GOOD to have anything to do with Tom Petty and his callous lyrics.
Smilin' like a baby rockin' in my mama's arms. ❤
Free Fallin’ | @tompetty | Cover by Magaziine ft. Arielle Kasnetz & Ebony Loren
Ok, a truly inspired cover here. I absolutely love the original, and Petty's vocal is so distinctive, it'd be hard to merely try to copy it. You've practically written a new song here, and it works great as both a song and an arrangement. Kudos! 😎
Not at all what I was expecting it to be like, and I'm pleasantly surprised.
Incredible! The voices gave me chills, those harmonies are beautiful
Good job y'all!
Tom loves this cover, absolutely loves it, and says thank you.
Wow wow wow. What a great arrangement.
Nah, I really miss Jack's songs, we grew up so well was a masterpiece.
Wow. Unexpected approach, fantastically dreamy. Keep it up!
Somehow this song gets better with every listen...!
This is cool.
Beautifully matched voices, altogether a great sound... :))
Superb cover. Mr Petty would tip his hat to you. Great arrangement, well played and awesome mixing and engineering. Vocals? Yep, superb…😎
I grew up on this song… I only really heard the lyrics today.
I love this song and you guys make it even better.
I was just listening to the original a few hours ago. This is epic, totally re-imagined. Beautiful
Love it. So beautifull.
Really talented young women!
What an incredible re-invention of this song. And now, for some reason, I feel the overwhelming desire to go play Portal.
Absolutely outstanding. Tingles all through my body from amazing different take on the music and those harmonies took me to a beautiful place that I have never been before. Thanks to everyone involved in the production of this wonderful take on Free Falling.👏👍🫶
So incredible
I need more Magazine Covers please!
Haunting.
Love those 441s they are so silky on female vocals. As usual a truly original rendition and amazing nicely done performance.
I was waiting for a big greasy Swatkins solo out of nowhere on this...amazing work regardless.
This is sooooo good, it's utterly impossible to play just once...Better than the original..? Absobloodylutely... and Jack, don't make ANY changes to this aurally eargasmic excellence..!
I didn‘t only fell in love with this very delicate piece of music but also with this extraodinary and very sweet girl to the left 😊 (should be Arielle I guess…?) I am free waiting for you! Greetings out of South-West Germany 😎
Perfect! 👏
Very Soothing ✨️
Another great cover, I love this new band! Harmonies so spicy my white friend just went up and complained to the manager 🥵🥵🥵
So cool
More of this, please. People may not think of me as a Tom Petty fan but man this song just got elevated to the next level.
Nice twist on a classic, would like to see you guys do a kate bush running up that hill cover, that would be a banger especially with all the synth magic.
Magaziine coming up big with the Petty (RIP) tune. Thx
Wow this was different 👌
Would love to see a bts where you talk about the gear you use with Magazine.
Nice arrangement!
У музыки нет национальности и вероисповидания.Я не понимаю слов,но-красиво.
Beautiful and smooth cover
absolutely love it. Also...it's kinda begging for a big fat chunky remix.
2:40 + goosebumps
amazing!!!!
this is EPIC
done in a minor chord, OMG love it
I have been following you for 15 years
Chills
Very nice!
Like a hypnos…❤
Nice. That's going in my playlist.
Wow, pure electronic - voices too!
instrumentation reminds me of The Social Network
Как же красиво, чёрт меня дери!
With all respect, translation from Russian to English so others can appreciate your comment, as I do: "How beautiful, damn it!"
beautifully modern interpretation. very digital but still full of emotion. well done.
Put it on bandcamp! 😩
Love this Tom Petty cover! Brings me right back to my student time when I was the barman in an Irish pub. The song and my life now is much cooler though 😉. At then the song has such much energy all of a sudden!
Dire
I would love for you guys and girls to cover the Pets Shop Boys LP version of “It’s Alright “ from their album Introspective. I think the way the song is constructed would make for an excellent accompanying video. The different parts/instruments are so strong and a natural focus for the live take. Just an idea. 😀
better than the original
Great performances by all. I just can't seem to get into this slow vibe of Magazine though. I'm hoping you can do some more up tempo numbers.
Fantastic cover!
Giving me Zero 7 vibes...
this music could easily be on a Stranger Things soundtrack
Super cool smooth cover!
Really intriguing cover! I got the feeling that it had a heavy dose of autotune on the vocals -- or are the singers really that much in the zone?
Definitely autotune/melodyne
How do the lights under the keyboards work? MIDI data??
first time i m listening this type of song, intersting harmonies and voices. Yeah I like this one 😀
