I get my 300L at the end of this month. I can't wait to do some exploring in my State just like you're doing. Perfect bike for it. Glad you kept the exhaust stock for now. Sounds like it has plenty of power and low end grunt.
Cool area to ride in. Do you have more mods on the way? Also just curious if you ever get to a spot where you kind of wish you were on the XT250? I know the 300 has more power but it is a little heavier, the seat height is taller, and the gas tank is a little smaller.
Still got the XT250, it certainly has a purpose and is an excellent bike to really get in it. I do have more mods for the Honda upcoming, I'm about to replace the stock headlight with a Cyclops LED and install an SRC Headlight guard...plan to do a video on that.
Looking to replace the tires on my 300. Wondering if you’re still diggin' the Dsports? Looks like they're hooking up ok. The stock tires (front especially) don't give me much confidence turning in the gnar.
The stock tires on my Honda sucked for me, got those off pronto! Yes, still digging the Dsports..they did very well on this ride. I just put a pair on my XT250 also. I think they are great tires for the terrain I ride in (desert/sand/rocky). Once I wear em out, I'll just replace with duplicate pair. Price is good too!
Thinking of going down (in CCs) from a Vstrom 650 to the 300 Rally. Does the 300L cope well enough on the open roads at 70mph for a couple of hours or longer? Comfort I gather wont be as good as my Vstrom 650XT but I'm thinking of a lighter bike for the off road sections. Thanks :)
That's one of the reasons I got the 300L, it does ride pretty comfortably at 65...even 70 mph. It does have a sixth gear which works well enough on flat/gradual stretches but forget about it going uphill. It can interstate ride but those semis will toss you around a bit. Perhaps test ride one if you can.
I'm trying to decide between these 2 bikes, is there a noticeable weight difference between the XT250 and CRF300L when "exploring" slow on single/technical tracks like shown in this video?
The Honda is a taller and somewhat heavier bike...heavier by 20 lbs or so. Personally I think the XT250 is a little easier to maneuver in more technical terrain.

Awesome! Congrats on your bike! I currently have no plans to replace the exhaust or suspension on my 300L, working just fine for me.

I don’t like the way the front Dsport wears. It performs well but I’ll be replacing it with something different. No complaints with the rear though
Nice rides! I did notice that you had the high beam on most of the time. Be careful, don't burn your bulb! :O

@@precipiceofgrind thanks for info! It’s compromise like any bike but yes I need to test ride one, but that could be difficult in todays supply chain.
Haven’t ridden in over ten years bike is 2 hours away.. haul it or ride it?
Ride it!
