RIP El Tiante and Charlie Hustle, thank you both for putting on one of the greatest World Series performances in baseball history, you both will be dearly missed. Shame yall weren’t inducted into the hall while you were still here with us.
I was 8 years old, and I remember staying up way beyond bedtime to watch this game with my dad and my two brothers. All I remember is that my dad kept saying, "this is the best baseball game ever played and in the World Series makes all the more better." The next day school, many teachers and classmates were all sleepy all because we all watched Game 6 in our individual homes. Watching this game brings back great memories of my late father.
@amberpuga7322 I was 10, otherwise our stories are the same. Up late with my dad. I lived in Cincy, so we didn't like the ending. BTW, this game was on a Saturday.
I don't even have to look at the screen. Just hearing the voices of Joe Garagiola and Tony Kubek take me back to many of my most cherished memories as a youngster.
We watched this whole series in college, each game was exciting. I was a Big Red Machine fan, but a lot of my friends were Red Sox fans. Just a great, great series.
Watched, listened to, then watched this game in the autumn of my senior year in high school. What can I say, but *what a ball game*! It had everything to explain why baseball is America's pastime; it's more than a sport. Still gives me chills...
I watched this when I was a junior in high school. I was devastated being a Reds fan, at the same time I was in awe of what a great game it was. I got most of the Reds autographs in 1973 in San Diego at the Town and Country Hotel. So awesome to walk up to them and ask for an autograph and they would sign without hesitation. I knocked on Sparky Anderson's hotel door and he answered it and talked to me for about 3 minutes and got an autograph. What a gentleman he was. Most players these days would tell you to "get lost".
+Blast Fromthepast not to many people would like for a person to knock on the door to ask for an autograph but hey, i would have done it also at a young age they know your sincere and awe struck, but nowadays people put it on e bay or are sent by an adult. times have changed everything is about the buck back then it was admiration. do you still have the autographs?

I was 9 years old. It's very foggy. I was in the bleaches in right field. My dad brought binoculars. I looked through them when Lynn hi the wall and he looked dead.. After the end Fisk came out in what looked like to me was long underwear but probably a warm up suit and jogged around the stadium. Some guy jumped out of the stands and the police wore him out..lol..crazy stuff you remember..it was late for a 9 year old..fortunately we took a Vermont Transit Bus and got to sleep comfortably home...missed school the next day was the bonus
Along with the Yankees of the late 1930's, I think the Reds' farm system of the late 60's and early 70s produced more talent in a shorter period of time than any team in baseball history. If they could have kept their young pitcher healthy (Don Gullett, Wayne SImpson, Jim Maloney, etc.) they could have won 5 or 6 championships.
@@RRaquello Most of the Reds teams of the 70s were built by bad trades with the Houston Astros. GM Spec Richardson made a number of terrible trades that changed everything. The Astros should have won a bunch of pennants during the 70s, if not for their stupid GM.
I was 11 years old at the time. I watched the game on the TV in my bedroom while my mom hosted a Tupperware party in our rec room. Periodically she'd excuse herself from the party ask me for an update on the game. When it was over, she asked me if it had been a good game. I told her it was the best baseball game I had ever seen. I'd still say the same thing 48 years later.
Growing up in the 80's, I always remembered the brief clip of Fisk waving like a lunatic down the first base line as NBC used that clip as part of their intro package to Game Of The Week. I never saw the actual game until tonight! First things first....I never knew Dick Stockton worked for NBC! He was always the NBA broadcaster for CBS in the 1980's....called a lot of those classic Lakers / Celtics games. Also, pretty cool to see a pre-Charlie Lau Dewey Evans batting stance....sans mustache! This is so cool to have the original broadcast in full! The only thing that would have made it even better is to have the commercials intact...but I get it....those kind of tapes are hard to come by. Most people back then just paused the tape when the commercials came on to save tape as tape prices back then were astronomical!
I was a then a New Yorker before moving to New Zealand, and yet even so I cheered every innings for the Boston Red Sox! The greatest game of all time here on tape! ~ Jett Jennings
The Reds had the best record in baseball that year, with 108 wins, .667 winning average. It was the best series I ever saw, but the numbers' speak for themselves. Bench 110 RBI's, Perez 109 RBI's & Morgan 94 RBI's. Awesome!

I was a Reds' fan, and I am aware of the place this game has in baseball history, but I always point out that the Reds came back to win game seven the following night, and that the 1975 Reds were one of the greatest teams ever.
WOW!!!! What a game! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting one of THE greatest baseball games ever played. Watching this absolute classic reminds me how great the game of baseball is.
Reds fan here ,I agree but also Jim Rice, and Dwight Evans, and always thought to this day Fred Lynn swing was the sweetest i ever saw. If Rice played in this series do the reds win? Honestly prob. not. Rice,Lynn, fisk,,and Yaz. Cooper and,Evans too.Oh my That's right there with my Red machine. Amazing times.
I like the camera coverage way more during this time than today. Today they pan the dugouts too much and too many close ups of players faces. Keep the camera on the game and out of the dugouts.
great world series, I really enjoyed it back then even though Boston lost, great memories of this special series, especially game six, very exciting contest, what a treat to be able to see again
Luis, Sr., had a 37-28 with the Cuban Stars [in various locations], of the Negro Leagues, between 1930 and 1947. So ... why isn't a Cuban smoking a ... CIGAR?
The 1975 World Series is when I first took an interest in watching Major League Baseball. I especially remember watching games six and seven. Great memories.
What a throw back, wow. To turn my back at the screen and go about my work and listen to the game is the real jewel 💎 the play by play kept me in the game👍🏽👍🏽🥁Thanks UA-cam a million I don’t wanna grow up I’m a toys r us kid they got a million toys, that I can play with 🧸🚀🛩🎡🧩🥁🚲
For me as a 15 year old this was the sweetest time for all the 4 major sports leagues. Cincy came back to take the Series, but watching the Sox perform the way they did was legendary. Reds deserved to win for sure with their talent fully loaded.
At 2:58 :00, Stockton in the top of the 11th inning says, "we've seen everything- what more could ya ask for?" Well how bout 1 of the greatest catches in World Series history in the top of the 11th, and 1 of the most dramatic home run to end the game!
I think the commentary is as important as the action of the game which is why I like to listen to old time games because the announcers were both respectful but still instilled their personalities into their work.
This game is so legendary, it's one of the rare times where a game won by the eventual losing team defined the WS. So much so, that Reds catcher Johnny Bench often says (tongue-in-cheek) you get the impression that the Red Sox won, 3 games to 4.
Closest thing I can think of was 2001 when Tino tied it in with a HR Game 4 w/2 out in the 9th, Jeter won it with a walk off, then the next night Brosius ties it in Game 5 again on a HR with 2 out in the 9th, and Soriano wins it with a double in the 12th, and it helped NY rally back into the driver's seat, up 3-2 in the series, right after 9/11 had devastated the city. Now I know that in the end, the Luis Gonzalez single to win game 7 was what really defined that series, but you can't talk about the 2001 WS without also mentioning games 4 and 5. Also, I remember Fisk was the one that said that Boston won that series 3 games to 4. I wish I could find the video clip of it that I used to see a lot on tv as a kid. It sounded like he was speaking for the whole city when he said it, like maybe they didn't win the whole thing but they could still take great comfort in winning that game regardless. Would Bench on the winning side have conceded such a notion? I would think he'd want to remind people who actually won the series (like Joe Morgan used to do when he was announcing).
@@billny33 yes 2001 is definitely another one, as epic as game 7 was that series stands out because of 9/11, Bush’s first pitch, and the ending of games 4 and 5. Even after the eventual defeat in game 7, it was really a New York story; Arizona was like a supporting character
How about Darrell Johnson, old Stoneface after the Carbo home run with Fenway going nuts he is so focused on the field. Must be thinking, hey it's only tied. Still have work to do...
Bernie Carbo after retiring admitted he was stoned(Pot) in every game he played in his MLB career.Thats even more amazing about what he did in the W.series
U Let Out Tony Pérez. 100× RBI 7 Or 8 Years in a Row. From Late 60's To Mid 70's An Hall Of Famer.👉🏾Plus Prime Young George Foster. Couples of Years After This W.S.👉🏾 52HR.150×RBI. 300× BA N.L. MVP 1977 or 78.
Thinking now, 40+ years later, the players first mentioned in the broadcast, most should have been or are in the Hall of Fame: Louis Tiant, Sr & Jr, Carlton Fisk, Pete Rose, Ken Griffey, Carl Yastrzemski, Joe Morgan, Johnny Bench...and that was just the top of the first inning. Greatest World Series Game in my lifetime - and I am 62 now.
I have hated the Red Sox my entire life as a fan of baseball. But this game has always brought a smile to my face. This IS the greatest game ever played, during the television era.
Best baseball game.EVER. I'm a Reds fan and even though they lost it was still an awesome game. I was 10 years old and the game ended after 1am and my parents let me stay up to watch the end. To this day they always show during the pregame clips Fisks homerun.
I watched this whole game except I missed the last inning so I missed Fisk's home run, LOL. It was just a few weeks after the start of my first year of high school, so I ended up having to go to bed after 11th inning. Oh well, I've seen it a thousand times since.
@MANCHESTER UNITED This was a classic baseball game from 1975. What does soccer have to do with this video? I didn't see any soccer in this video but I'll rewatch to see if i missed it.
Bernie Carbo said, "The day of the game I probably smoked two joints, drank about three or four beers, got to the ballpark, took some amphetamines, took a pain pill, drank a cup of coffee, chewed some tobacco, had a cigarette, and got up to the plate and hit."
1) Carbo's homer was WAY more important than Fisk's homer. If Carbo doesn't homer Fisk doesn't even come to bat. But Fisk gets all the glory and Carbo gets none (or very very little). Shame. Carbo was the HERO of Game 6. 2) Drafted AHEAD of Bench, Carbo could have been one of the All-Time GREATS. Another casualty of drugs and alcohol.
Nathaniel Levesque That's actually a sensible way of putting it :); the Red Sox winning a dramatic Game 6 in the 12th to force a 7th, & in the end, the Reds, after their 108 wins during the season, bent but didn't break & coming back to win Game 7 in hostile territory.
3:26:15 you can see a spectator hustling down the aisle from the concessions or bathroom or whatever, right above Darcy. He plops down in his seat literally at the moment Fisk connects. Talk about your great timing!
2:18:48 Bernie Carbo's two-out pinch hit three-run home run to tie the game in the bottom of the 8th is one of the most underrated home runs in baseball history. Everyone talks of Carlton Fisk's game-winner in the 12th but without Carbo's home run, the Reds could have won the game and the Series in 9 innings. No one talks of rookie Fred Lynn's three-run homer in the bottom of the 1st either. 16:05
This is STILL considered by many to be the greatest baseball game of all time. It's also notable because this is the game where Dick Stockton, who was working this game with Joe Garrigiola in the last year the team's local announcers worked home games during the playoffs for NBC, met his future wife Lesley Visser, who was covering the game I believe for The Boston Globe as I remember.
Greatest? Not by a long shot. Now if it actually ended the WS like 1960 and 1993, then maybe I’d consider it up there. But knowing that it only delayed the inevitable in that Boston ultimately fell in Game 7 makes this a nothing burger IMO
Angel Sanchez Well it was voted in a MLB countdown as he greatest game ever played. Hell there are people that said this is the best world series EVER, so there you go!
Saw this on my 15th Birthday and it was just 1970 and 72 when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup.. a great time for a Toronto boy with no baseball team and no, um hockey team. What a great game and I'm loving seeing this again. GOBoSOX! And it's 3-0 RedSox in Game 6 this eve.
Thanks for posting this. It made me want to make a list. Three of my Top Ten favorites in one game. TOP TEN: Mike Schmidt Willie Stargell J.R. Richard George Brett Joe Morgan Dwight Evans Carlton Fisk Rod Carew Tony Gwynn Rich Gossage Honorable mention: Ozzie Smith Paul Molitor Yadier Molina Greg Maddox Miguel Cabrera Edgar Martinez Keith Hernandez Joaquin Andújar Kent Tekulve Mike Piazza Jack Clark Jeff Kent Jim Rice Bob Horner Mariano Rivera Brooks Robinson Manny Ramirez Greg Luzinski Dave Kingman Al Hrabowski Dale Murphy Chase Utley Gary Carter Nolan Ryan Jim Thome
Thought more people would see this game. Thanks for posting. three and a half hours for a 12 inning game! Today it would be six and a half and everyone would be in bed - missing Fisk's HR.
It's funny, I was a freshman in HS and had to get up for early XC practice and went to bed, missed the HR even though the game was short. Don't forget the commercials aren't included in the 3:30.
Tiant is pitching for the second time in a row on 3 days rest, after 2 complete games and with a pitch count of around 200 in the last game. And was probably closer to 40 than 35.....
This series is available on Netflix. It's worth the time to watch it just for all the blast-from-the-past things you'll see. Like, for example, Tip O'Neill sitting in the front row for Game 1 in Boston, smoking a big fat cigar in the seats. George Bush, Sr. also in the front row. Joe Garagiolla's hilarious plaid sportscoat. The 1970's clothing on all the fans. Oh, and not to mention one of the best World Series of all time.
What is the date of this game 6th? And what is the teams record at this point in the series? I’m somewhat embarrassed asking as I can remember seeing this entire WS! Probably my favorite WS!? Classic…
An all time CLASSIC game. I watched this game until the bottom of the ninth when George Foster doubled up Denny Doyle at home on Lynn’s fly ball. I was sick and went to bed thereafter. Later on, my father came back and told me the Red Sox won it in the 12th on Fisk’s home run. I dramatically raised up from my bed, sick as I was, and my mom said, “Boy, you got up like you’re alright!” I give the Reds all the credit in the world. To lose a Game 6 SO CLOSE to celebrating a title, put the party on hold, and come back the next day to win a Game 7 on the road down 3-0 is absolutely astonishing. So many teams would’ve collapsed, but not these Reds. They were amazing. And who sells off a key first baseman and banishes a manager AFTER achieving back to back titles like the Reds did?? What a FOOLISH move by the Reds owner!! This was the greatest World Series I’ve EVER seen. Incredible trip back in time. Thanks a million for the upload!!!
I m 67 years old, I remember 1967, well I was 12 years old in what grade,? We had a great teacher in our grade school named Mr. A, and he d teach us chess after school, he d roll in those old over sized tv to watch play off games, so in 67 we are watching the deciding game with red sox winning the pennant, and Mr A, tells us HE KNOWS the Boston red Sox shortstop, Rico P, that they went to school together...wow, what memories, back in the day we had those small hand held radios, transitory, we followed Tony C. until he got hit in the eye, and Long Island's HERO Carl Yaz...I played 3rd base on a winning Northport high school team, with Bobby Jazakonitz, we called him Jaz, just like Jaz, or was it Jazz...he played shortstop, 3rd base exactly same as me. Bobby Wine came from East Northport too. Philly shortstop, I met him, I hit a scorching single or double against his younger brother, but younger by 12 years.
At 29:25 what was that sign the fan held up real briefly when Cesar Geronimo was batting? The fan sounded like he was doing some heckling when Cesar was up to bat.
I don't know if he was heckling or not but I remember that sign. It says "Camden, ME" (Maine). I remember seeing it a few times. Camden was about 10 miles away from my hometown.
16:05. Lynn 3 run HR. Yaz and Fisk score in front of him. 3-0 BoSox. 1:15:05. Griffey triples to left center for 2 runs. Lynn crashes into the wall violently. Fenway foes into COMPLETE silence. It is actually eerie. Have never heard a stadium so quiet. 3-2 BoSox. 1:19:49. Bench hits one of those ridiculous Fenway singles off of the Green Monster scoring Griffey. It is the ONLY ball hit off the Monster the entire night. 102 men came to bat in this game, and the Monster was touched only once. Just weird. Game tied at 3. 1:53:13. Foster doubles high off of centerfield wall scoring Griffey and Morgan. El Tiante is running on fumes. 5-3 for the Redlegs. 1:59:38. Geronimo hits a HR around the Pesky pole. Reds are 6 outs away from a parade. The Sox are DOOMED. This home run has yet to be seen to this day, by the millions who 'saw' it live on TV. Unbelievably dank picture, even when taking into account the bad lighting at Fenway. This HAD TO BE the moment some nerd at M.I.T. came up with the idea for HD tv. Had to be. Just awful. 2:00:26. El Tiante walks off the mound to a melancholy ovation. The man was valiant. But the Sawx were DOOMED. 6-3 Reds. 2:18:19. Bernie Carbo produces a swing so feeble that the ball lands 6 inches BEHIND home plate, and slinks off apologetically, exit stage left towards the 3rd base dugout. Might be the worst swing in World Series history. 30 seconds later....... 2:18:49. Carbo produces a swing that sends the ball about 420 feet directly in front of home plate for a 3 run shot. It is the finest moment, in perhaps the finest game ever played. The Red Sox have suddenly, shockingly, thunderously tied the game. Fenway EXPLODES. 6-6. 2:33:54. Lynn, who was the Forrest Gump of this game pops to left with the baaes loaded and no one out. Foster catches it about 2 feet in front of the side stands in left, and about 2 feet behind the 3rd base bag. He easily throws out the runner, Denny Doyle at home for a rally killing double play. How did the 3rd base coach wave Doyle on home? The only thing that wouldve saved Boston here was a Steve Bartmann character to interfere with Foster. Wow, a terrible decision by the 3rd base coach. Don Zimmer coached 3rd? Oh........that explains 1978. We continue. 6-6. End of 9 innings. 3:04:05. Dewey Evans makes an impossible looking catch off of Joe Morgan in the 11th, and turns it into a double play to end the inning. The more you look at this great play, the more it looks like it wouldve been a home run ovee the lower wall. A GREAT play. The runner on 1st Griffey, wasnt even in the picture when the ball was relayed back to the infield. He had no clue what happened. Musta needed an HDTV as well. 3:26:00. Fisk gets his 6th hit of the series............ Kidding, kidding. BASEBALL NIRVANA.
remember this game so well/called my dad had to work that night /we watched it till he had to leave / called him several times for updates/ fisk waving his hr will always be in my mind
I watched that game, unreal!!! Being a red fan we "WE ON IT IN THE END" in what many still to this day claim the greatest WS in history. Then next in 1976 was great too, if you were a red fan. 4-0 and out. Aganist the Yankees.
I live in New Brunswick, Canada (an hour later than eastern time) and was in grade 8 and it was a school night. At the beginning of the 8th inning my father called out to me to "get to bed". I ignored him and when Carbo was at bat he roared from his bedroom to "Get to Bed!"...Carbo hit that homerun as I walked towards the TV to turn it off. As I was going to bed I was thinking maybe I'll wake up in the morning and the Reds will have won. I have no idea why I was Reds fan..maybe it was the logo...or the name "Cincinnati"...it sounded cool
RIP El Tiante and Charlie Hustle, thank you both for putting on one of the greatest World Series performances in baseball history, you both will be dearly missed. Shame yall weren’t inducted into the hall while you were still here with us.

@Amber Puga That was awesome to experience a game like that. Series flowed smoothly and everyone was great
Pp0p
Wasn’t it disappointing as hell though that Boston ultimately fell in Game 7 though ?
Yes I was 8 years old also and watched the whole game. What a game it was!
Curt gowdy was good with kubek curt helped Tony alot
We watched this whole series in college, each game was exciting. I was a Big Red Machine fan, but a lot of my friends were Red Sox fans. Just a great, great series.
You got to love Dick Stockton's call of Carlton Fisk's Home Run in this game as that's the call you will be hearing forever on that magical moment.
Underwhelming
Watched, listened to, then watched this game in the autumn of my senior year in high school.
What can I say, but *what a ball game*!
It had everything to explain why baseball is America's pastime; it's more than a sport.
Still gives me chills...
I was 3 months old. I remember my dad letting me stay up to watch.
I met Bernie Carbo, the guy who tied the game with the 3-run homer in the 8th. Really cool guy, without him, Fisk's homer would never have happened.
Carbo Pinch Hit For My Uncle Roger Moret in That 8 Inning..
He is to Fisk as Hal Smith was to Mazeroski in 1960.
@@bennymoret1339Ass
It probably would have happened but it would have been insignificant.
This is the best World Series ever. I was 15 and remember this well.
Same here. I was 17. A lot of my heroes were playing in that series. Yaz, Pudge, Tiant, Bench, Rose, Perez, .........
It’s great but 1991, 1997, 2001 and 2016 were the best as well.

A Red Sox fan since 1963...best WS game I ever saw.....
What about Game 4 2004 where does that rank?
The most exciting world series ever. It's amazing how much talent the Red Sox and Reds came up with in those years!!!
Reds were really loaded
the red sox and reds developed hitters, that's why the series was so exciting
It was
the best series I ever saw, but the numbers' speak for themselves. Bench 110 RBI's, Perez 109 RBI's & Morgan 94 RBI's. Awesome!

really? all the games were played at night except games 1 and 2 and they were on the weekend. were you in school on Saturday for being a naughty boy?
Super great! You got to listen to the game
40+ years later and I still want to be Fred Lynn when I grow up.
He was pretty to watch in center field, even as a Yankee fan....
If he had played his whole career in Boston, he would have been a HOFer. His swing was perfect for Fenway.
Agreed
great comment
@M you posted the same thing on another video. Shut up fool.
I was a Reds' fan, and I am aware of the place this game has in baseball history, but I always point out that the Reds came back to win game seven the following night, and that the 1975 Reds were one of the greatest teams ever.
Indeed they were . The Legendary "Red Machine"
Correction: BIG Red Machine
On Armbrister runner interference.
amazing that such a legendary team played in such a dump of a baseball field. place sucked.
Agreed.
WOW!!!! What a game! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting one of THE greatest baseball games ever played. Watching this absolute classic reminds me how great the game of baseball is.
i just started liking baseball and i thought start in the 70s .
its all new to me like watching it live
About time they let us see this one. Brings back great memories. I was 9 when I saw it.
I always felt bad for Fisk and Yaz, great careers and retiring without any rings.
Scum Front Office in Boston at the time 4 sure screwed them even when Pudge left for Chicago
@@JJA1987 Boston Front Office have been like this since the Babe was traded to the Yankees. 'Very short-sighted, stingy front office management.
@@JJA1987 The front office forgot to mail Fisk his contract on time, so he was declared a free agent. Haywood Sullivan was a fuckin moron!
How about Ty Cobb and Ted Williams?
I was a little kid and still, the greatest baseball game I ever saw.
Me too.... I was 7 when this happened.
Amen
I like the camera coverage way more during this time than today. Today they pan the dugouts too much and too many close ups of players faces. Keep the camera on the game and out of the dugouts.
carbo smoked that pitch and it looked great from behind the plate.
Amen
great world series, I really enjoyed it back then even though Boston lost, great memories of this special series, especially game six, very exciting contest, what a treat to be able to see again
it feels good to watch the games from the good old days
Tiant was a beast. When he was on, his stuff was as nasty as anyone's in baseball. Especially that tailing fastball of his. Brutal.
I was in college as a sophomore and watched the Game with Reds and Red Sox fans ! What fun.
This line up for the Reds is just unforgiving!
This game. Celts triple overtime vs Suns. Bobby Orr flying thru the air. Butler's interception. Heart attacks galore in New England!
13 championships in Boston since 2001!
Luis Sr. rockin' the lit cig like a boss!
Luis, Sr., had a 37-28 with the Cuban Stars [in various locations], of the Negro Leagues, between 1930 and 1947. So ... why isn't a Cuban smoking a ... CIGAR?
I'm a longtime dodgers fan, I miss the rivalry with the big red machine
The 1975 World Series is when I first took an interest in watching Major League Baseball. I especially remember watching games six and seven. Great memories.
Blues... Reds...too many colors in sports 😅😅

After the game, Rose told Sparky Andersen this was the greatest game ever played. Can't argue with that.
Can't say it's better than Game 7 of the 2016 series.
For me as a 15 year old this was the sweetest time for all the 4 major sports leagues.
Cincy came back to take the Series, but watching the Sox perform the way they did was legendary. Reds deserved to win for sure with their talent fully loaded.
I was there. Thanks for this whole game, what a way to see it again.
At 2:58 :00, Stockton in the top of the 11th inning says, "we've seen everything- what more could ya ask for?"
Well how bout 1 of the greatest catches in World Series history in the top of the 11th, and 1 of the most dramatic home run to end the game!
Sparky managed like a 2010s manager with all the pitching changes.
Just a tremendously well played game.
his nick name was captain hook
@@melbias5046 thats what my dad told me back then.
Sparky's nick name was Captain Hook for a reason.
Nearly 50 years ago. Will always remain in the pantheon of postseason homeruns.
I never would have thought to look this up. I'm glad I came across it.
This is awesome. I listened to this game on the radio and never saw it on Tuesday Oct.21st 1975.
by any chance could you tell us who were the announcers on radio for this game?
@@michaelz6309 I don't know.
One of the best World Series and one of the best individual games in history.
No way
Boston still lost Game 7 so this didn’t mean squat in the end.
1991 is the best World Series 🌎 of all time that was won in the last at bat forget 1975 overrated
Any baseball game is good. They’re all different 😊
I think the commentary is as important as the action of the game which is why I like to listen to old time games because the announcers were both respectful but still instilled their personalities into their work.
yeah, they were pretty cool
Fisk home run was iconic long drive if it stays fair home run
I still get that moment of joy I felt at age 7 watching number 1 round the bases after blasting that honner in the 8th inning.
You must’ve been extremely disappointed though that Boston still fell in Game 7 though
IMO, it sadly makes this walk off all for nothing and wasted
One of greatest calls in MLB history!!! The golden voice of Dick Stockton is Epic!!!😎

Well I mean the Reds bounced back and won Game 7 so the sting of this loss surely ended right ?
I watched this whole game except I missed the last inning so I missed Fisk's home run, LOL. It was just a few weeks after the start of my first year of high school, so I ended up having to go to bed after 11th inning. Oh well, I've seen it a thousand times since.

Bernie Carbo said, "The day of the game I probably smoked two joints, drank about three or four beers, got to the ballpark, took some amphetamines, took a pain pill, drank a cup of coffee, chewed some tobacco, had a cigarette, and got up to the plate and hit."
Inspirational for our young athletes!
Bernie Carbo, Pinch Hit For My Uncle Roger Moret In The 8 inning Of Game #6
and Homer To Tie The Game.
@@bennymoret1339 Really. Was he a left handed pitcher mainly pitched relief for Red Sox?
That was before Wheaties.
The Red Sox won the greatest game ever, the Reds won the greatest series ever.
Well stated...even though I am in Michigan, I was a huge Reds' fan in those days.
***** I would say 1991 is the 2nd best series, behind 1975.

My grandpa met Tiant on multiple occasions he lives in my home town, awesome guy
3:26:15 you can see a spectator hustling down the aisle from the concessions or bathroom or whatever, right above Darcy. He plops down in his seat literally at the moment Fisk connects. Talk about your great timing!
I was 13, a Chicago Cubs fan living in NYC. Go Reds! Go National League!
Ed Vega - very true. There wouldn't have been a Fisk home run without Carbo's.
And if Johnson puts in a pinch runner for slow footed Doyle in the bottom of the 9th, probably no home run by Fisk either.
What a great homerun from Bernie, just as exciting as Carlton's homerun
Carbo was also called out at home in the 1970 World Series in a controversial call by the umpire.
Bernie admitted later that he had smoke marijuana in the clubhouse before coming up to bat and hitting that home run.
So many legends, and what a game this was.
Didnt Knew about Netflix had the whole series!!! Cool Thanks!!
Joe GarageEOLA. . . "One Class Act!!!"

+gk10002000 EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!
gk10002000 yeah and how many of them go on the disabled list 8 times a year?
Back when pitchers would mostly pitch the whole game on more than one occasion
@@Mario-cv5el Tiant pitched 187 complete games out of 484 starts. Almost 2 out of 5 games he started, he finished.
I recall Phil Rizzuto working the 1976 games at Yankee Stadium with Joe and Tony, so they were still doing it then.
Greatest? Not by a long shot.
Now if it actually ended the WS like 1960 and 1993, then maybe I’d consider it up there.
But knowing that it only delayed the inevitable in that Boston ultimately fell in Game 7 makes this a nothing burger IMO
I dont know a thing about baseball, have never watched a game, but I have decided to watch this game while drunk at 2 AM. I hope its good.

Thought more people would see this game. Thanks for posting. three and a half hours for a 12 inning game! Today it would be six and a half and everyone would be in bed - missing Fisk's HR.

Great!!!!!!!! post thanks, i thought i'd never see that moment again.
The greatest world series game ever played.
Eh, it’s overrated.
Yeah it’s a cool way to end a WS game but it means so much less knowing ultimately Boston fell in Game 7.
The Greatest World Series I had ever seen in my 52 years of life. This Game Six was the Crown Jewel of this Series..
Tiant is pitching for the second time in a row on 3 days rest, after 2 complete games and with a pitch count of around 200 in the last game. And was probably closer to 40 than 35.....
j grau Tiant was pitching on five days' rest. This game was delayed two days because of rain.
Classic…
i can't believe they didn't show a replay of carbo's homerun.
I dramatically raised up from my bed, sick as I was, and my mom said, “Boy, you got up like you’re alright!”
I give the Reds all the credit in the world.

In my opinion the best World Series ever. So many close games.
@Steve G Thanks.
Wish my spelling was better.
remember this game so well/called my dad had to work that night /we watched it till he had to leave / called him several times for updates/ fisk waving his hr will always be in my mind
The Reds and Red Sox here go down as two of the very best lineups
to face eachother in a World Series.
And Jim Rice was on the DL.
I watched that game, unreal!!! Being a red fan we "WE ON IT IN THE END" in what many still to this day claim the greatest WS in history. Then next in 1976 was great too, if you were a red fan. 4-0 and out. Aganist the Yankees.
One of the greatest baseball game, being able to watch on t.v. A bonus it was a World Series game.
Love this game. Thanks for posting.
That was EPIC!!!!
Btw-it was re-watching the movie-Good Will Hunting brought me here!!
RIP ROBIN WILLIAMS XOXO
RIP Joe Garagiola. God bless your soul.
