I got mine when it was really small, he’s in a 75 now. When I had him in QT, other fish would swim up to him so that the heniochus could peck the parasites off
Super easy peaceful fish. If you want more than 1, better to have them in odd numbers. They also swim all over parts of the tank which is good for display fish. The downside is that they are not reef safe.
@@sophiaburnett7764 A 125 gallon tank is recommended. We have one that is 4 inches long in a 6 foot long 125 gallon tank, these fish love to constantly swim day and night from one end of the tank to the other, I'd say a 60 gallon tank is way too small.
@@sophiaburnett7764 That'll be perfect, be warned though that they can find some corals as tasty treats, the schooling bannerfish is more forgiving than the longfin bannerfish with eating coral, these 2 fish are very hard to distinguish from each other as they are almost identical. Google schooling bannerfish vs longfin bannerfish to try and learn the difference.
Mine tried to clean my rabbitfish and it spooks him out it’s hilarious, be careful y’all they grow so fast!!!!! they are very peaceful and I have mine with a teardrop butterfly and they swim together really nicely, they love eachother, super friendly fish!
My clownfish is messing with mine. They were added at the same time and are in a 75. Right now he is minimum size but still much larger than my frostbite clown. If it comes within inches of the clown the clown will chase it away
Heniochus butterflies are actually 4 different species of Bannerfish, only 1of those 4 is reef safe and other 3 are NOT reef safe but there is a very hard difference between them
Love the black and white colors on this one, with just a dash of yellow. Very pretty!
I guess this is the closest I will get to a Moorish idol

Also known as the longfin bannerfish these much hardier moorish idol look-alikes are a lot easier to keep then their impossible to keep Idols

The Heniochus diphreutes has their black stripe go all the way down the back fin, and they have more of a deep mouth like a pyramid butterfly
Could he go with a raccoon butterfly?
Oh yes!
Brock Leonard can I put him in a 30 gallon when he's 5 inches?
Susan Burnett I’m not Brock but I wouldn’t. I’ve seen them come in much smaller than that though.
Susan Burnett I wouldn’t. He needs plenty of room to be happy.
Brock Leonard ok
Will it eat my maxima clam?
Could he go in with a yellow tang, regal tang and emperor angel??
