Beasts of the Mesozoic Alectrosaurus olseni Review!! Tyrannosaur Series Wave 3!!

This is my 3rd most highly anticipated BoTM from wave 3!! That red coloration just makes it pop!! I’ve said it many times, this body type is the most fun out of the series. Just a great time playing around with it. Very cool to have this obscure species in figure form. Another fantastic addition to your #dinosaur collection. #beastsofthemesozoic

That’s the species that appeared on the final episode of Planet Dinosaur. Last I checked, they had only 2 fingers. This Figure is still very impressive.

I’m with you. Would’ve liked Alioramus. Didn’t consider till now why he didn’t go with it. I suppose that’s probably the reason we didn’t get Nanuqsaurus either.
But I’m happy with what we got. Once my Guanlong arrives, I’ll have one of each Tyrannosaur size class, excluding the T-Rex.

Nanuqsaurus was mentioned to be a possible retool of the yutyrannus body back when wave 1 was in development. Hopefully that happens.

I think this was the better choice despite the incompleteness of the fossils over Alioramus for a couple of reasons. We did get BOTM Qianzhousaurus, which I've seen some paleontologists suggest it is similar enough to Alioramus that it might just be a third species of it. Secondly, I'm sure I wasn't the only one who did, but this genus along with Dryptosaurus were two of my most "proud" suggestions to David when he was asking for suggested genera way back at the end of the Ceratopsian campaign if I recall. So selfishly I'm glad this first Alectrosaurus figure ever exists. Now, embarrassingly, I must admit I had to skip it for the Gorgosaurus but if I get another BOTM Tyrannosaur in the future, this is likely it. Great review as always Greg 🍻
