- A closer look at the "Sue" restoration from Eofauna! I appreciate a figure that's challenging, so Sue here is my new favourite rex. Available with fantastic service here from Everything Dinosaur: www.everythingdinosaur.com/pr...
Great video youngin. I honestly couldn't choose between Sue and Scotty ,they're both smashers to me! 😀 🦖
Cheers, me dear! 😸🦖 That is the right answer of course...and although Scotty is currently a mystery, I'm sure he'll also live up to very high expectations when he lands! 🦖
Interestringly, tuataras do have an overbite so that the lower jaw can slot in between the upper maxillae and the inner row of teeth on the roof of the mouth but still have lips like other reptiles
It's certainly the primitive condition! 😊 There are a lot of very good reasons why Sue here looks the way she looks, Eofauna have really done their research here, as you'd expect. Their decisions may be jarring to some, but they're based on the reality of what they had to work with. She doesn't look "mammalian" at all to my eyes which has been a criticism, and I don't think it's surprising that she looks odd to a lot of people, given her facial anatomy. She is a brilliant practical exercise in the application of knowledge and inference! Definitely my new favourite T. rex 😊🦖
I love Rebor's Kiss, but Eofauna's is now the definitive T-rex for me.
That there are multiple recent contenders for 'best' - Creative Beast, PNSO, Rebor... - shows that we're now in the golden age for dinosaur collectors.
I couldn't agree more! 🦖❤️ This is a truly outstanding figure from Eofauna, there is a strong good reason for every choice they've made with this reconstruction, and it's such good value, too! The removable base is a stroke of genius; Sue here stands without it, broadening display options, but with it, she'll never distort and fall and we'll always be able to put her right. Even the stands provided with PNSO figures sometimes fall short of adequately supporting the figures themselves, especially in hot weather (some of mine are suffering with that currently)! But there honestly has never been a better time to be a dinosaur toy collector, it's an embarrassment of riches for us. Space and finances are our only limit! 😊🦖❤️
As soon as you brought her out, I had a huge shock because I used to have a vynil dollar store T-Rex with the same coloration! She's very striking as well!
That's mad! 😸 It's such a complex pattern, who would have thought two manufacturers would even dare to attempt it?? Especially a company that makes humble vinyl dollar store figures! I'd like to see that! 😊 I think it's based on a Gila Monster, but I believe there may be another reptile with similar colours and patterns, too 🤔 Either way, it works beautifully well for Sue, here! Thank you for watching ❤️🦖
I NEEEED THIS, thanks for the video! Looks amazing!
Thank you for watching! 😊🦖 This is a brilliant figure, it's great to hear it getting some love!
It looks so good!
Honestly the more I look at it, the more I love it and appreciate what they've done, here! 😻🦖
Just got an email from Everything Dinosaur regarding this model. Probably my favourite Tyrannosaurus model and looks to be good value and very tempted ..and only just outside the size range for my slightly (or very) autistic 1:40 scale obsession.
She's certainly fantastic value, as well as a brilliant new take on a genus that's been reworked SO many times!! I hope you're able to convince yourself to take the plunge, there is size variation in the genus, after all 😇 It is difficult to work around our personal barriers but believe me, it is possible, and it's not "masking" anything, I truly believe that from my experiences with my own difficulties 😊 Thank you for continuing to support my reviews! 🦖❤️
Good content. Keep it up! Support from 🇺🇲
Thank you so much! 🦖❤️
Thanks for the review!! Please pardon me...I don't intend to be a know it all, but sue is actually from the Field Museum. Im a local to the Chicago area and spend a lot of time in her company. Cheers!
Oh no, thank you! I really appreciate that, I thought she was AMNH, but I must have her mixed-up with something else 🫢 I used to spend a lot of time following palaeo folk on social media and that kept me right with the facts, but these days I'm largely away from all social media and so, I'm very out of touch, and sadly likely to remain so. So any facts and discussion from people who are genuine, and who are genuinely interested in the subject, and are willing to engage are most welcome! 🤗 I would love to see Sue for myself some day. What a wonder that would be! Thank you for watching! ❤️🦖
@@aeonfire82no problem! I often have to Google things I think I know just to make sure!!😂 I understand..I’m out of touch with social media these days too. If you do get a chance, I would highly recommend visiting the Field Museum. We recently got a Spinosaurus which is apparently the only one in the western hemisphere. I love your videos, and keep doing what you do! 🦖🦖😊
@annieb.829 awwww, thank you so much! 🤗🦖 I really appreciate that, the toy dinosaurs that are available now are the stuff of my childhood dreams. I don't have a hugely extensive collection nor the knowledge any more, but the love is still very much there, and it's fun to share! ❤️ The field museum looks and sounds utterly amazing, and it's definitely on my list of hopes for the future! 😊 Thank you so much for your support! 🤗🦖
This video was filmed on a potato. What's with the mirror in the background moving? Is that a secret room?
