- We thought it would be fun to show you what a day in our life is like. It’s definitely changed a lot since we got a baby! We feel like we’ve gotten into a pretty good schedule and are loving being parents.

You are an adorable family. Ryker is so cute. My one suggestion as a Grammy would be that when you feed him and that includes Trace that you hold him as if he was being nursed. There will be more bonding and he will have more of a feeling of security rather than holding him on your lap or propping the bottle up and allowing him to eat on his own. Take advantage of that cuddle time for you too. Time goes by so fast. Love you guys.
It made me terribly sad to see how trace was feeding Ryker without him and cuddling him.
🙏praying Trace recieves the encouraging words w the LOVE from Jesus that everyone sent and praying Trace knows how AMAZING it was to see him LOVE his wife and baby ...taking the night shift, cuddle time/game time, helping w the bath and being soooo supportive of his wife!!! Praise God for the fruit of the spirit Trace shared w all of us and most of all with his family...praising God w everyone ....we saw LOVE, PEACE, Patience, gentleness, goodness, kindness, self-control, Faithfulness and JOY from all ❤❤❤ 3 of them! To God be the Glory Great things our Lord has done! Ephesians 3:20-21

Lydia please never thank trace for keeping his child.I had three girls and always felt guilty if I left the baby with my husband.Big big mistake!He is as much a parent as you are and I truly believe he is not babysitting!You are great parents.
He is growing so fast. Old mom tip, fill a bowl full of hot water to warm the bottle up in. This way you don't have to run as much water in a large sink because it cools off more quickly than the bowl will.
When I had my babies it was ALL ME! I can't even imagine how life would have been if I had #1 someone who shared all the duties, and #2 the technology! New Mama's have it made, and are still exhausted 😂 But women have been doing the work of both parents for awhile, nice to see it finally balance. Great team work!
Me too! I am actually shocked when I see a dad helping as much as Trace does lol.
He is a Bates!! They had/have a wonderful role model😊❤

He's just beautiful! What a blessing...I'm a mother to three boys who are all grown, and oh how I miss having little ones. Y'all are doing a great job.
My advice-- around 7 or 8 pm, dim the lights and create an atmosphere conducive with relaxing and going to sleep. Setting the stage like this is so helpful in preparing children for night-night time. Adults too.
You guys need the book Save Our Sleep by Tizzie Hall. My girls would go to bed at 7.00pm and wake up at 7.00am we started the routine at 8 weeks. They are now 14 and 13 and still great sleepers through out their child hood and now teenage years. I attribute it all to the good habits we created as babies and toddlers.
Y’all are doing so awesome! Your baby is thriving! I did have one tiny little suggestion (hope you don’t mind me sharing)you might want to store the pumped milk deeper in the refrigerator as they say the door doesn’t stay as cold and is less dependable😔 hope you don’t mind me sharing! That is so great you are getting to build up a stash!!
I was going to say the same thing but didn't know if I should. Any type of milk product should not be stored in the doors due to the lower temperatures there.

Question: As Christians, do you know that Starbuck's, who is the main funding source (besides our tax payer dollars) of Planned Parenthood- the place where most abortions are preformed. I know you all love that beautiful baby boy of yours. I know you are Pro-Life. Starbuck's took in $1.9 billion in 2022. 35% of their $ comes from taxpayers. You might want to think about buying a coffee pot, putting your Starbuck's money into a college fund for your precious son, who I am so happy you chose life for!! I had a son who cried when I carried him face backward. He only wanted to be held facing outward. What I learned about that is that he is very outgoing and loved to see and connect with people.
Yes both my children were the same. My daughter refused to be carried with her face backwards or having tummy time. She wanted to see everything and be a part of it. We say she started to talk at three months 😊 and never stopped. When we had our son we just did the same thing❤

It is a lot more work to pump and feed. My daughter did that for eight months, because she had to go back to work after three month leave, and she works full time. Good job!
I just want to say he is obviously fed, loved and well taken care of! I wish you didn’t have to defend the way you all chose to feed your child. You and trace are his parents and what you choose for your family shouldn’t need to come with a defense because of people on the internet who want to parent your baby. ❤❤❤
So precious! The bath is very relaxing for babies. My babies always did well with bedtime baths.

I like your system. The way you are doing it, means that Daddy can feed as well as Mommy. That's great. Ryker is absolutely beautiful. I'm so proud of you two. You have this parenting thing down pat. Ryker is a lucky little boy!

Im usually a silent viewer but decided to comment because of my experience. I’m a mom of 5 and one being an angel baby from having his bottle propped up while at a baby sitter’s please keep a close eye on him if choosing to propping up his bottle. I love watching y’all, he looks like a happy baby and is growing so fast ❤
Ryker is adorable. Y'all are such a sweet little family. Trace, your not kidding about the estimates being the real work. When my husband was in home improvements, I put his together. Depending on what all they were wanting, It could take several hours to pull everything together.
Gosh your video had me thinking about back in my day when I had my 2 sons. With our first son, at 3 months old I had to return to work at my 8-5 job. I nursed both my sons and pumping wasn't such a rage back then as it has been in recent years. So I did all the feedings during the night. I even nursed on my lunch hour at the babysitters house. I can remember being exhausted most of the time and I really don't know how I did my 40 hour a week much of the time stressful job. But fast forward and I am now retired with 6 grandchildren whom we see quite often and help their parents out. You both are such a great parenting team and it is evident you adore your son. Keep up the great work and know the time will fly by!!

Watching this video was so reminiscent of when I had my son last year. We did many of the same things you two are doing! My son is 19 months now, and I can say you will not regret having routines, getting him used to sleeping in his own room, etc. Ryker looks like a happy, healthy boy :) You two are doing a great job!
Do not feel bad. All first time parents are nervous that they are okay during the night. It’s nice you have the technology to help.

Hey! As a former pumping mama! Something that I found out is you can put your pumping parts in the fridge and only need to wash them once a day instead of after each pumping session! That helped me so much with more time with my baby girl! I hope you see this as this may help you too! 😁

They grow so fast, so enjoy every little snuggle and cuddle time opportunity against you that you can when you're feeding them. It makes babies feel more secure and loved as well. You guys are doing a great job.

You are all doing so great already! Ryker is such a precious treasure. Enjoy all of the baby-cuddle-time each time you feed him because he will be growing up so very quickly. Before you know it, he will be running around and playing on his own and won't want to be cuddled very much any more. Believe me when I tell you how very much you will miss this stage in Ryker's life, Hold on tight and don't blink or you will find him all grown up with a family of his own. The time really seems to zoom by. I miss that time so very much with our kids, and now out grandkids have already outgrown the cuddle stage! Oh my!! Have a great week! I love how chill they really are. The relationship between these two are so relatable to every couple who hype up about marriage and make it like life is nothing but having sex but in reality it’s just a life with a partner. Which of course by no means makes it bad.

Hang in there Lydia pumping is a full time job. Our middle daughter pumped for a year and half with her second son. Riley was born with cleft palate and cleft lip so he was unable to nurse he had to be syringe fed. Ryker is absolutely adorable.

Those early days are hard work but it gets easier. Especially the nights but its so worth it to see that sweet baby in such good hands.

Just wanted to say, the nipple on that comotomo is a medium flow if you didn’t change it. The 5 oz. ones come with a slow flow which you should use for a newborn ❤

So sweet! His little face and head shape remind me of my son as a baby - all those shots of him sleeping took me back! My son is now about to turn 13. Y'all are doing great!
I see so many new moms pumping to feed. They say it saves time and allows for more help. I found with my second baby, strictly breastfeeding was way less time consuming and I had more time for other things. My husband helped with everything else, he even got up at night to bring the baby to me, changed her diaper and brought her back and settled her in bed.
I also had a stronger and closer bond than I had with my first, my son. I didn’t have a choice to breastfeed him, my body didn’t produce milk so I had to make bottles for him.
Hello sweet family! You all may have figured this already, but (after seeing Trace warming milk in your big sink) it works really well to heat some water and float your milk in one of your stainless steel tumblers until its ready. 😌
You all are great at helping one another. That is so awesome to see, and such a blessing. It is important for the Dad’s to be just involved and not “baby sitting”. Good for you all.
We have triplets all boys so hard work but always have time watch your videos 😊

Man, y'all have it good these days! Back when my girls were babies and I was a nervous parent I had to stand over the crib and watch their little chests rise and fall to make sure they were ok lol. That was before smart monitors...all we had were the dumb ones with audio 😂 Who am I kidding though...I'd probably still stand over the crib even with all the monitors
