I agree, the American version was way better than the English version because they made the English version more about dialogue and less about action in many scenes.
YESSS all around but ESPECIALLY for the Tangerine Dream OST. I loved this movie from the beginning and when I got the special deluxe DVD featuring the ORIGINAL/alternate soundtrack (which Ridley himself was disappointed to have been replaced) I was like…. Why??? TANGERINE DREAM ultimately made the BEST fantasy/lose yourself/get lost in the story music with their last minute replacement score. It NEARS Nobuo Uematsu Final Fantasy IV thru X scores- sure different from a video game BUT the TD Legend ST hit the NAIL 👏🏾on 👏🏾 the head✨👏🏾 in terms of emotional interpretation of the scenes. The OG score was def beautiful and delightful & interesting to listen thru. But after giving FAIR chances to BOTH versions- Tangerine Dream’s score IS IT💫🙌🏾🥳 and just kills it on so many heightened levels. And the difference in SOUNDTRACK especially in THIS case is so important & def switches up the vibe a number of crucial AF scenes. IF YOU haven’t seen the originally theatrically released version with the Tangerine Dream soundtrack, SEEK IT OUT. It’s not to be missed & plays a whole important part. @@sizzlemeat Just watched it last night. LEGEND (1985) for me will always be the full film or "director's cut" at 114 minutes. It is probably what I first saw, but forgot. Did the music make me forget the better and longer version? Possibly. Just saw the full film (director's cut) again of "Legend" by Ridley Scott and I liked it better. I think I saw the original full length director's cut, but then later saw the U.S. version and did not like it enough for my memory of it to be less than optimal when making my favorite movies list. I have now put it at #119 of my favorite movies list, so almost in my top 100 favorite movies. Ridley Scott goes from my 25th favorite director to 18th place, just by having rewatched the longer "director's cut" again and remembering it right. The movie is better with the full 114 minutes (director's cut), as opposed to the 89 minutes for the U.S. version or the 93 minutes for the U.K. version. The characters feel more fully realized and the ultimate nemesis not being revealed till the latter half is much better. So now what can be said of the experience. The visuals are stunning and the movie is better without Tangerine Dream's music throughout the movie, except for two songs. I feel the song "The Dance" by Tangerine Dream is excellent as a creepy version of gypsy music due to the pauses, but is it better than the original "director's cut" song? "The Dress Waltz" by Jerrry Goldsmith is perhaps what would be in a girl's mind for a dance "The Dress Waltz." Imagine "The Dance" by Tangerine Dream playing as you see traveling gypsies set up their tents and the women dance as the men work. That such a song would pause, just makes you feel the idea of "SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES." I like the movie better also due to now realizing Tom Cruise's character is Pan (Peter Pan) but from the past before such a character like Peter Pan exists. He is an innocent of the forest and only in the child, Lili's mind. In fact, aside from the couple she visits in the forest whenever leaving her father, the king's castle, she is the only real person in the movie. The couple tells her stories and fables of fairies, sprites, fawns, goblins, dwarves, and elves. Her father is a king who takes his daughter to church. She is now hearing of Satan and so her mind creates this tale. It occurs to me that none of this is actually real except for Lily liking the woods and believing in fairy tales from a couple she visits and so I suppose considering the timeframe in history for this princess "The Dress Waltz" by Jerry Goldsmith is more logical. I think my vote is still the Tangerine Dream song "The Dance." Even if it is the wrong fit for the movie. Also "Loved by the Sun" by Tangerine Dream for the last sequence and credits is amazing and so that song I'd add to the original director's cut. The movie ends properly with Lili and Jack (Tom Cruise) not together as he isn't real anyway. Jack is realizing she is growing up and so even he is separated from the rest of the fables of the woods at the end, as that is the way she wants to remember him, as hers and not another's. So what happened is Lili learned Satan desires humans and so she had added him to the stories in her mind. She realizes the innocence of youth must face the reality of her father's church. Here let me explain it this way: "The Bringer of Light" Part One: "In Heaven" He sought after knowledge and looked to the unknown. He studied his own pupils, to see if seeds had been grown. He looked to his God, for insight and power. Compared to us all he was on top of a tower. He tested the limits; he doubted it all. The taste of freedom, he heard the call. His name preceded him. He was loved by the masses. His pupils believed in him and stuck with him like molasses. Some started to worship him, which he told them not to do. Only chosen could see Him. Were others a waste of time? That's what it seemed to us was written on that sign. God must have found out by others of all his fans, because He wouldn't see him, but put him up on a stand. God asked him if all he heard was true. Lucifer agreed and told all that he knew. He tested the limits, he doubted it all, the taste of freedom, he heard the call. He was cast out as evil. He was threatened with pain. They told him they'd chain him if he tried to remain. Those that loved him followed to face the unknown; besides, we couldn't bear to see him alone. He did nothing wrong, as far as we could see. He loved the God, he wanted to be. Part Two: "For Love" I chose punishment also, with the angel I loved. I was treated as dirty, tho clean as a dove. In heaven, we are taught love comes first of all. If my heart condemns me, then I welcome the fall. For love, I have left or forsaken the light. But with him by my side, I fear not the night. Black coldness so strong I felt I couldn't go on living, but for the first time I really thanked God for the life I was living. Through tests love is strengthened. It grows with time and the more you want to be together is a very good sign. We passed through the darkness; we straddled the line. We drew more strength than possible by our love all the time. For love, I have left or forsaken the light, but with him by my side, I fear not the night. I just followed my heart; that has to be right. Part Three: "On Earth" God told all that left for Earth, there would be no chance for rebirth. And that we would receive eternal damnation, in a place called hell, yet, knowing all this, we still fell. On Earth where we now dwell and do as we please; we decided God wouldn't care if you bend down on one knee. The true God who made us, both above and below, knew what each would be like, and loved us as so. All of us are beautiful in our own way and all are important in the part that we play. In heaven, we accepted all that was said, but now to us that god, as God, is dead. For if he made us to burn for all eternity, the one lacking love is not us, but He. This sort of sums up the idea of the story. Can this world with fallen angels and stories of fables from pagans be put into a story for Lili to comprehend it. She knows the devil wants her per the litagy of the church and the sprites of the forest are less logical to her suddenly. She thinks of things and hopes for things for herself as she is 15 years old and wanting more for her life than her life at home with her dad, the king, in the castle. And yet she knows her desires may make her fall, and so she imagines meeting the one who desires to have her and realizes he is evil. Again, the poem is not the truth. The angels who fell from their former glory are in an abyss awaiting judgement unless they can enter flesh (human or animal) but to them all of it is degrading compared to what they are in their mind. In fact, the alternative of finding the Holy Spirit in men raising the human to be better in relationship than an angel makes them sick and so they often war with the people of God. Lili sees the sprites of the pagans fighting to win her from evil, but by the end of the story she is running back to the real world realizing her father is teaching her the truth. Hence, the true ending is the "director's cut" of Lili wanting to believe Jack loves her even though he is told as a Pan of the forest who does not age or lose innocence. She has past that and so she leaves him, even as she sees him as waiting for her to return to the forest. Meanwhile, since she sees him as a possible relationship, he is becoming distant from the other characters of the woods and so therefore Jack (Tom Cruise) is not with the others who remain in the forest. Lili is realizing there is evil in the world. The church is teaching her to not be so innocent. These are the only movies on my favorites list which can really be compared to it. Susan does not believe the other world of Narnia anymore if you read the books. Lucy does believe in Narnia as she gets older. Ofelia (Ivana Baquero Macías), at 11 years old, in Pan's Labyrinth has it much worse than merely pagan stories compared to church stories, as she is dealing with Facism vs. the church in Spain. Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz was suppose to be a young Shirley Temple at 10 years old and would have been dealing only with a neighbor who hated her cat and a tornado in Kansas by comparison. Judy at 16 years old dealing with such stuff is a comedy by comparison. 5) Narnia: the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe (2005) 31) Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) - Spanish with English caption 56) The Wizard of Oz (1939) 119) Legend (1985) - director's cut (full 114 minutes) It is weird to think a song matched to a movie could ruin your memory of it. The movie has such brilliant and stunning, magical scenes.
Yes, I prefer the Tangerine Dream soundtrack, especially the end Loved by the Sun, from the theatrical release. I do, however, like some elements of the cut you reviewed. More Tim Curry, especially his reveal. "Quiet. Quiet. How like you my gifts, my lady. Does the gown not please you?". I love the extended Meg scene too. Now that we (the public) are more used to extended movies, I think there should be either a remake OR a re-release with SOME of the extended scenes and most definitely Tangerine Dreams.
Yeah, the tangerine dream soundtrack fits so much better. The one in this version is just kinda cutsie, generic fantasy sounding. Very forgettable to me.
Love this film. One of my favorite all time fantasy/adventure films. The Tangerine Dream score is superior in every way....it gives the film that mysterious, magical feel.
I grew up in the 80s and 90s watching the version with the Tangerine Dream score. Very different but interesting experience watching this Jerry Goldsmith version.
The entire point of the fae vex is that love/joy cannot be 'bought'. The one currency in this world most cherished cannot be bought. A fancy dress, a kiss, etc.
Tim Curry is awesome as the Prince Of Darkness. The original concept was that it was supposed to be a Griffin, but was scrapped during production. The make up process was insane, yet pretty impressive.
Theyd try to use cgi for absolutely everything with one practical mask (of which they would advertise absolutely everywhere about such 'Practical Effects' ironically).
My favourite fact about this movie is that it was filmed entirely on a soundstage, all those sets even the outdoor ones were all hand made. It amazes me every time. Great review, glad you went in with an open mind and saw it as the fairy tale it was.
My childhood movie! A fairytale I fantasized and how pure the movie is, and the symbolism unicorns are as enchanted vs. evil. The evil absolutely reminds me of how ugly people can be in reality so it's made a big impression for me as a child. The warfare of good and evil that represents so much and its so underlining truths that reflect us and it's just more than a beautiful fairytale movie. Very beautiful the artistry and as an otaku and artist and lover of fantasy, I gather a lot of references from this movie and learn. Best for me is being an equestrian lover and I was head over heels over the grey Andalusians! Gorgeous stallions
You really should check out the US Theatrical cut, which was faster paced and featured an amazing soundtrack by Tangerine Dream. It's got a lot of differences, including the fact Lilly is just a normal girl... not a singing Disney princess. Both versions are great in their own right, but in different ways.
The U.S. Theatrical version has a few more seconds with Tim Curry at the beginning and a different soundtrack & great synth score and is about 20 minutes shorter. The rest of the world Theatrical version is what you reviewed only 20 minutes shorter and a happier ending. This "Director's cut" was the only surviving extended version of the film used for testing with audiences. So its a Director's cut in name only for marketing purposes.
Yes, I noticed added scenes in this one and diff music. Figured it was UK version. I don't remember the part about Jack having to solve the riddle about the flowers and bells or else be killed. That is all new scene to me. The part with Tom Cruise flirting with the hag. Also, the voice of Satan, the dark father, who told Tim Curry to make her one of us, the voice was much different in the US version
Fun Fact: The makeup effects artists on the Goblins and Darkness were done by the same artists behind the gore creature effects in John Carpenter's THE THING for which Ridley Scott was highly impressed and hired them right away on Legend.
OMG I cant with this version... OMG I CANT!! lol the Tangerine Dream score is sooooooooo HAUNTING AND BEAUTIFUL AND PERFECT!!! The score for that movie is what grabs you and keeps you throughout the film.... it adds this mystical magical feeling... I mean don't get me wrong Jerry Goldsmith is great but this is like the ONLY Tangerine Dream Score that is good Jerry Goldsmith has tons of others better so no loss for him... PAINS ME just PAINS ME haha
This is one of my favorite fantasy films. Such a pure fantasy, with a simple story and fantastic design and atmosphere. I am glad you watched the version with the Jerry Goldsmith score, which was the original intended score. I think it really adds to the operatic quality that the film has, and is just really haunting and beautiful. Having said that, I definitely think the version with the Tangerine Dream score is great as well and more than worth checking out.
@Jordan, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Makes me glad I sent it. I wanted to share a movie that is near and dear to my heart. It's like it is the first live action Dungeons & Dragons movie. I was 13 when I first seen it, took my girlfriend to the movies when it came out, so naturally I fell in love with it instantly. It holds and will always hold a very special place in my heart. Thank you for reacting to it. Truly...
I think the fairies in this movie age in reverse. The oldest looking were clearly the least experienced and powerful. The fairy who faked being a goblin must have been there a long time, and seemed similar in age to Gump who acted like the oldest. As far as the weather being like Ohio...yeah, I'm in Akron and agree 100% It's impressive that Tim Curry could speak so clearly with fangs. Often actors get a lisp or it's just unclear. He had no problem speaking around them. Also, the dancing...fairies have a reputation for dancing victims even to death. Think Pied Piper. This movie is brilliant. It took so many classic elements of ancient fairy tales which are the basis of Tolkien's works, so makes sense the movies would have parallels. It's a perfect representation. I adore this movie, was lucky enough to see it as a kid. The 80s were amazing for kids with all the fantasy stories.
This one of my all time favorite movies of all the time. Probably in Top 5, along side with The Secret Of NIMH, Batman 1989, Reign Over Me and The Prince Of Egypt.
Oh, you're watching the UK version. I love this version more, but I love the Tangerine Dream soundtrack way more than the Goldsmith version, I have to admit, because it didn't have that mystical quality I liked from Tangerine Dream's New Age musical quality.
Lol, I grew up on this movie. As an adult, I love this movie, but Lord Darkness scared the shit outta me when I was little. I don't think I was able to fully enjoy this movie until I was about 8 yrs old. Before that, I would usually walk out of the room if it was on lol. Tim Curry turned this role out.
I'm a big fan of the movie, this came out about four years after I was in High School. Tim was great as The Darkness, and the guy had to do 5 to 6 hours a day getting make-up, when doing full body shots.
This was and is my favorite movie since I was a kid. I grew up on the theatrical version so it was a shock to me another version existed. Such an incredibly brilliant film. Totally subscribing just for you reviewing it!!
Thanks for the video!! See you later!! Stay safe.😉 I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as I did. Critics in the US hated the film, stating that "it didn't make sense, and found it to be a Horror film rather than a Fantasy." It made $45 million dollars at the box office against an $18 million dollar budget. It has now developed a cult following.
Cool film. But now you're ready for the greatest of all 80s fantasy films, WILLOW. Starring Warwick Davis from LEPRECHAUN and an early role for Val Kilmer. Must-watch.
You got to watch the theatrical version in my humble opinion the better of the two. You missed the amazing Loved by the Sun song. In the theatrical version they actually end up together
Great review, man! 👍🏻 please, do yourself a favor, and if you can get a hold of it, watch the theatrical cut with the Tangerine Dream score. I’m not saying Jerry Goldsmith’s score isn’t great (it absolutely is), but the TD score gave this movie a much more dreamlike quality. Based on your own theme music for the channel, I think you’ll appreciate it! P.S. you got a new subscriber here!
I first saw this movie when I was six years old. To this day, whenever I have to go out in a really bad storm, I yell: "Dah! Terrible sight for a sober man!"
Wish I can go back when I was 8 during the summer when my uncle showed me these movies Legend, the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal on DVD and watched Harry Potter and the 1st Lord of the Rings
This isn’t like a Disney movie. It’s like a fairy tale. Disney does not lay claim to the concept of the fairy tale. No matter how much they wish they did.
Hey thank you for noticing the video :) means a lot Donald !!!. Naw you dont need to give any money, if there is a movie I have not seen, I will eventually get to it !!. Thank you so much for the comment and support .

There are three different versions of the film. There’s the UK cut, the US cut and The director’s cut. All of which have different running times and either and different scenes either cut-out or expanded upon. The US version also has a different soundtrack when in comparison to the other two. The UK and Director’s cuts have a Jerry Goldsmith soundtrack while the US incarnation has a Tangerine Dream soundtrack. Jerry Goldsmith’s music for the film is said to be more serious while Tangerine Dream’s is more light.
Hey man, a lot of people have mentioned it, but watch the actual theatrical release and do a video on the comparison, it feels different, it's an excedllent case for the power of editing.
I remember seeing this in the theater as a kid.. it was rather mindblowing because this was one of the first times a movie really did a sort of classical "Dungeons and Dragons" type fantasy in live action... at least the first time with this level of FX work and cinematography. Dark Crystal came close but it was all puppets and technically it's a sci-fi fantasy, and Never Ending Story is more about the kid reading the book than a classical fantasy. It wasn't until Lord of the Rings was successful that it occurred to Hollywood to do this again. Ridley Scott's vampire flick "THE HUNGER" came out before this and is also worth seeing.
Ridley Scott didn't direct The Hunger. His brother Tony Scott did. Tony also directed 3 of three of my favorite films Top Gun (1986), Beverly Hills Cop 2 (1987), & The Last Boy Scout (1991).
Classic Fantasy, one of my favorites without a doubt. Love Ridley Scott too....practical effects almost ALWAYS out perform CGI any day. This movie is a whole aesthetic.
i feel it's an important distinction to mention you watched the director's cut which has a very different overall tone than the older version that was originally released in the USA. the way the scenes were cut together, different soundtrack, alternate camera angles, alternate shots entirely, it's a different movie. what you saw, the director's cut, is the superior version according to most people
YES!! Love this movie & great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻Tim Curry as the Lord darkness is just fantastic… I have loved this since I was a kid because as a lot of girls my age I was really into horses and unicorns so this was just something I watched all the time LOL
Unpopular opinion, EVERYTHING is Lili's fault. If she was actually pure of heart she wouldn't have tested Jack by throwing her ring into the water, tempted the unicorn, or have been tempted by Darkness.
4:51 from landscape to oh, O. K. horses...to Hoooooly Tish [this word has been ErnieDyslyctictized, to protect the ears and eyes and Mind of those closer to deluded...--eh, hemm I mean innocence]. Sweet-spot reaction (-chain)-Ernie Moore Jr.
6:34 I hear you and get to wonder if someone titled this talkie from that scene and did word play because the movie is actually, "Ledge-End"-Ernie Moore Jr
I think there's like 3 different edits to this movie. I fell in love with this movie when I was little and consider Tim Curry one of the best underrated actors ever
10:50 insightful, good thought about he had a simple job to do...O.K.,,semi-could-be-problematic-job--but getting it done- Lucky as all-get-out, I'd say mind your getting-cocky, but your saying you feel his over-confidence is going to come-back and bite him... that was thoughtful and a really good comment on your part.-Ernie Moore Jr.
Have seen (I believe), three versions of this film over the years: have never before seen the shot of Darkness tumbling away into darkness. All previous versions, there was just a shot of a starry sky with the sound of wind. Also: this is remarkably similar to a film made a year or two earlier 'The Keep'. So many visuals similar, even though it's set in WWII.
The legend that is Rob Bottin did the make up effects for this, truly the best make up I've ever seen, poor Tim Curry though,it wasn't fun for him to endure!!
The U.S. version with Tangerine Dream doing the music is much better. More depth and feeling. With the Goldsmith version, it is a boring happy go lucky Disney film , with an odd ending.
NO FREAKING WAY, SOMEONE IS REACTING TO LEGEND?!??!??? If I wasn't already subscribed, that alone would have made me haha. I absolutely adoooooooore this movie

5) Narnia: the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe (2005)
31) Pan’s Labyrinth (2006) - Spanish with English caption
56) The Wizard of Oz (1939)
119) Legend (1985) - director's cut (full 114 minutes)
It is weird to think a song matched to a movie could ruin your memory of it.
I have both the Original and Directors cut version
I agree,I prefer that and have the soundtrack on cd
Yeah, the tangerine dream soundtrack fits so much better. The one in this version is just kinda cutsie, generic fantasy sounding. Very forgettable to me.
tangerine dream score will take you in a different journey watching the same movie.
Love this film.
One of my favorite all time fantasy/adventure films.
The Tangerine Dream score is superior in every way....it gives the film that mysterious, magical feel.
Wrong about the Tangerine Dream score. Jerry Goldsmith's is far superior and is taylor made for this film.
Nice
The practical effects and costuming are downright amazing in this movie. I doubt a studio could pull it off today.
Theyd try to use cgi for absolutely everything with one practical mask (of which they would advertise absolutely everywhere about such 'Practical Effects' ironically).
Tangerine Dream soundtrack forever
My favourite fact about this movie is that it was filmed entirely on a soundstage, all those sets even the outdoor ones were all hand made. It amazes me every time. Great review, glad you went in with an open mind and saw it as the fairy tale it was.
OMG didn't know that, amazing!
Love Robert Picardo as Meg Mucklebones "Indeed I do"
Such a great movie Tim Curry as always is fantastic.
Unicorns are attracted to pure innocence.
It’s a real classic…….I grew up on this stuff. I love Zelda as well👍
Glitter was HUGE in the 80's
Thank you for the comment and support Sam :) !!
One of the best classic fantasy films
Bewitched 2005 Comedy / Fantasy Movies Full Movie what movie name
@Jordan, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Makes me glad I sent it. I wanted to share a movie that is near and dear to my heart. It's like it is the first live action Dungeons & Dragons movie. I was 13 when I first seen it, took my girlfriend to the movies when it came out, so naturally I fell in love with it instantly. It holds and will always hold a very special place in my heart. Thank you for reacting to it. Truly...
🌞 Nice all practical sets and makeup, looks more natural than cgi.
That was a reaction movie reaction!! Thank you for watching Legend!!
I think the fairies in this movie age in reverse. The oldest looking were clearly the least experienced and powerful. The fairy who faked being a goblin must have been there a long time, and seemed similar in age to Gump who acted like the oldest. As far as the weather being like Ohio...yeah, I'm in Akron and agree 100%
It's impressive that Tim Curry could speak so clearly with fangs.
Haha the closest we'll get to a live Zelda movie lol
There’s a rumor that The Legend of Zelda was based on this movie.
ohio native, just subscribed, LOVE this movie, both versions!
Tim Curry is my childhood crush( I am a little weird). This is a fabulous movie. Glad you reacted to it.👍
The hag Meg mugglebones is played by Robert Picardo. Most people know him. Nowadays is the doctor from Star Trek Voyager.
✊ was gonna say the same thing
The version with a soundtrack by Tangerine Dream makes for a fairly different feel, although, this version has more scenes included so...
I'm a big fan of the movie, this came out about four years after I was in High School. Tim was great as The Darkness, and the guy had to do 5 to 6 hours a day getting make-up, when doing full body shots.
This movie just isn't the same without the original soundtrack. Wow, what a sad difference!
This is my mom and sisters favorite movie! This and Willow! The movie was nominated for Best Makeup, but lost to the Sci Fi Horror film THE FLY.
Yes
18:51, his design is based on Chernobog, the demon from the FANTASIA segment, Night On Bald Mountain.
This was and is my favorite movie since I was a kid. I grew up on the theatrical version so it was a shock to me another version existed. Such an incredibly brilliant film. Totally subscribing just for you reviewing it!!
Wow thank you so much Christi that means so much :) !!!!
The origin story of Ohio. No truer words spoken.
Thank you for reacting to this! It's one of my favorite movies and I'm so happy you liked it! ❤ Subscribed!
awe thank you so much !!! and I am honored you liked the reaction and subbed :).
Hey Jonathan thank you so much for the support :) and I do wanna watch it so bad !!
I first saw this movie when I was six years old. To this day, whenever I have to go out in a really bad storm, I yell: "Dah! Terrible sight for a sober man!"
The US version with Tangerine dream is a cleaner cut.
Wish I can go back when I was 8 during the summer when my uncle showed me these movies Legend, the Labyrinth and Dark Crystal on DVD and watched Harry Potter and the 1st Lord of the Rings
So beautiful. And the scene with the dancing dress is one of my all time favorites
This isn’t like a Disney movie.
It’s like a fairy tale.
Disney does not lay claim to the concept of the fairy tale.
No matter how much they wish they did.
Finally someone reacting to Legend. I've asked so many reactors to react to this movie. I guess i don't give enough money. Thank you!
Hey thank you for noticing the video :) means a lot Donald !!!. Naw you dont need to give any money, if there is a movie I have not seen, I will eventually get to it !!. Thank you so much for the comment and support .

@@JCARTSARTS982 I loved Robert Picardo (the doctor from Voyager) as the swamp hag Meg Mucklebone.
Hey Jordan!! Sorry been gone for someTime (work outta town) but im back baby !!!! lol
13:22, Meg Mucklebones! A swamp witch!
18:39, this is a cool effect right here!
The goblin (blix) who chopped off the unicorn horn is the same actress who plays gozer in the Ghostbusters movie and voiced flotsam and jetsam in the little mermaid
They filmed the movie on location at Pinewood Studios London England and Florida, for the scene where Jack jumps into the water to retrieve the ring.
Highly recommend "Hell Comes To Frogtown" for an upcoming reaction.
Fun Rowdy Roddy Piper movie
I watched this movie and think it's very enchanting and beautiful visually. I love it. I wish I could have watched it in the theater big screen.
1988’s the blob is a great movie to react to!
Hey man, a lot of people have mentioned it, but watch the actual theatrical release and do a video on the comparison, it feels different, it's an excedllent case for the power of editing.
Bravo!! I’m glad someone finally reacted to this movie! If there is a hell then Tim Curry’s the devil is he!
This is a very underappreciated movie and indeed Tim Curry is extraordinary.
Goldsmith's score, the best thing in the movie!
Classic Fantasy, one of my favorites without a doubt. Love Ridley Scott too....practical effects almost ALWAYS out perform CGI any day. This movie is a whole aesthetic.
i feel it's an important distinction to mention you watched the director's cut which has a very different overall tone than the older version that was originally released in the USA. the way the scenes were cut together, different soundtrack, alternate camera angles, alternate shots entirely, it's a different movie. what you saw, the director's cut, is the superior version according to most people
this movie is as classic to me as Wizard of Oz
'The wailing'
you gotta watch this.
YES!! Love this movie & great reaction 👍🏻👍🏻Tim Curry as the Lord darkness is just fantastic… I have loved this since I was a kid because as a lot of girls my age I was really into horses and unicorns so this was just something I watched all the time LOL
Thanks for watching this! ❤
It is a really good movie! It was one I watched over and over as a kid.
Unpopular opinion, EVERYTHING is Lili's fault.
If she was actually pure of heart she wouldn't have tested Jack by throwing her ring into the water, tempted the unicorn, or have been tempted by Darkness.
Pure heart as in innocent of what evil is and for the record she risked her life to save the unicorn, that is the act of a pure heart.
You watched the proper version of this movie.
Ha! 12:55 what is that?
The ruler of my childhood nightmares, that's what!
Starring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry in this fantasy
the dark ones (he's not lucifer) makes effects? are you kidding me? outstanding.
This is one of my favorite films. But I think Tim Curry's best performance was as the bad guy Cardinal Richelieu in The Three Musketeers 1993.
17:50, this is a creepy scene! The dress is supposed to represent her dark side.
I think there's like 3 different edits to this movie. I fell in love with this movie when I was little and consider Tim Curry one of the best underrated actors ever
Underrated movie!
Love the movie and love the soundtrack.
6:43 I just realized that sound is used for Biollante.
You might want to check out The Hunger directed by Tony Scott , Ridleys brother
25:00, darkness for all eternity....
I am a true child of this ❤ I was nine years old, and in love with Tom ❤
I liked Mia Sara more in Farris Buellers day off.
You must do Willow someday
Oscar is a great Tim Curry movie you should react to
Legend is much better with the soundtrack by Tangerine Dream.
Yesssssss!!!
I loved ur reaction.
The legend that is Rob Bottin did the make up effects for this, truly the best make up I've ever seen, poor Tim Curry though,it wasn't fun for him to endure!!
Excellent. 🎉 Very well done. We enjoyed it.
U need to watch it with the other music score it makes.the movie much better
The U.S. version with Tangerine Dream doing the music is much better. More depth and feeling. With the Goldsmith version, it is a boring happy go lucky Disney film , with an odd ending.
I prefer the Tangerine Dream soundtrack version.
