How did you go on your trip mate? I'm taking off in 3 weeks headed for dargo and I'm a little apprehensive due to the quality of the tracks this time of year! Going solo so any advice ahead of time would be great 👍
I've only watched your two Victorian High Country vids so far, but we'll done, I love watching epic adventures like this and will definitely spend some time over the weekend watching the rest of your vids. Keep up the great work lads. 🤙
After watching many Aus 4x4 touring channels, i would have to go so far as to say, that this one is right up there with my top 5. Great content awesome editing heaps of light in the lens and bloody all round top stuff. Cant wait to view some more, cheer's guys :)
Another top episode guys can't wait for the next one. Dargo pub is great after a long day wheeling. Last time I was there we had to release a skippy from a dog trap that was caught not sure if he made it as he had a busted foot but still managed to hop away when freed.
That camp spot at the base of Barkly River Jeep Track is one where we've camped a few times. Almost had snow one time and almost went off the road on the way to Licola one time when it was covered in snow. The Mt Sunday Track not far north from the campsite is diabolical at times. And yes, have been up Mt Margaret in rain, before it was graded and that drive between Burgoyne and Mt Margaret feels like it's three times longer than it is. Unless you camped at Horseyard, that's one bloody long drive to Dargo.
Awesome vid 👍👍👌👌 with the camp fire going, you guys should have just boiled some snow and poured the hot water onto the frozen swags and awnings etc 💁♂️💁♂️💁♂️
I cant wait for winter wheeling. Let it snow let it snow let it snow. The key to snow is air psi down under 10 psi and easy on the skinny pedal. Check out 22 Snowshoe or snowbatman 99 for some extreme snow wheeling. There videos are about 9 years old but they give you a great perspective on how to wheel in deap snow. Great video guys liked and subbed
Gr8 vid, looks like a awesome time. Ya gotta get yourselves more VHC ready, chainsaw, duckdown, 100% must at all times. Feb 2019 we had snow. OH PLEASE tell me the cake of soap was just a joke! Soap KILLS the oxygen in the water & it kills it for a LOT of water. Seriously massive stupid thing to do. The rest of the vid rocks
Thanks, yes we carry a chainsaw at all times, as for warmth, we havn't found a warm glove that is waterproof and still allows dexteritry. We use sustainibly-sourced plant and mineral based soap whenever washing near bodies of water.
Lads where is that campsite that you woke up to in the snow? I've seen it in a few videos but have no idea where it is! Great videos, rewatching for the second time!
We went through the same thought process. Pleasantly surprised with the comfort, a lot more stable and comfortable than we thought they would be. But the space saved is unreal.
Pretty brave going up there at this time of year. Just needs a giant tree to block the way down, chain saws out of fuel, and you're in a pickle. Do you guys carry a rescue beacon?
Tip for the patrol auto hubs. You can pop the auto ring out of the auto hub which turns it into a manual locking hub. The auto ring is the weak link. Google “convert patrol auto hub to manual” and there’s a thread on patrol4x4.com.au on how to do it.
The weak link in these hubs is not so much the auto ring but the two fingers deep inside that splay apart, which then allows slip which tears the rest apart. They are just a bit of pressed plate, rubbish design.
Manual hub upgrade and you’ll never look back. I use to run auto with 35s and every second trip I was replacing one. Factory manual hubs are by far the strongest hubs you can get for them, don’t bother with aftermarket rubbish.
@@greebo7857 The front hubs were done at 250,000 just spindle bushes bearings seals and I had new rotors and pads it needs doing again now you can't beat no tech mate they're to dumb to die
Savvy Victorians pick camps below the snow line to avoid the shitty stuff. Over-rated crap that just makes touring unpleasant, as you found out. A wonder your diesel fuel did not "wax out "and have a no-start. Long drive to Dargo, ain't it!
Awesome video. Adorable. Love Australia and 4wheeling😀
Doing my first Dargo trip in August and this was extremely helpful and insightful. Thanks guys.

Really liked this video. I am a tourer, camper explorer kind of person which made this video excellent for me. Thanks to all.
Im digging this channel man.

Excellent narrative skills brother! Always keen for the next one!
Great video guys! Would you believe I have never seen snow. Love the story and the production, great job 👌

Great vlog, great footage, well narrated and edited. Depicts the Jeep life and outdoor experience brilliantly.

That would have been crazy waking up to that snow!
Great video guys and thanks for sharing your adventure. I'm new to your channel and I just loved the homemade shower. Be careful and have fun. 👍👍🇺🇸

OMG the footage is amazing.
Concurred the High Country many times but never had the fun of snow . Looked fab except for the clean up .

great vid mate keep it up
Wonderful 😲😲😲
Pro tip never go into the high country with-out snow chains. Also you can use them on muddy slippery tracks.

That is right at the bottom of the Barkley River Jeep track.
Thats awesome

AHHH!!! I cant wait for the next one!!!

Boys on a scale of 1-10 how comfortable are those Front Runner chairs?
Thinking about buying to them to save some space..
Good show 👍🏻

Hey guys, are they the Frontrunner camp chairs??? How do you rate them? Great channel, keep it coming.
Yep, really happy with them so far.
@@SIDETRACKED cheers guys, think they will be in the trailer soon.
Did I just see a black roo? That would of been assume

We have sold out of the hoodies at the moment Luke.
Epic video guys ! What time of year was this ?
Currently locked in Melbourne itching to get to the high country
May
Pretty brave going up there at this time of year. Just needs a giant tree to block the way down, chain saws out of fuel, and you're in a pickle. Do you guys carry a rescue beacon?
That just adds to the adventure. No rescue beacon. Sat phone and uhf if anything turns pear shaped.
where did you guys find this much snow
Vic alpine country.
@@SIDETRACKED well im heading up there in the school holidays looking for snow.
This kicks ass on 4wd action videos.
david husband yeah but how good is the Dmax’s traction control!
hahahaha
Looks really good and like a lot of fun out there. So far one of your best series yet.
Where did you get those chairs from?
Thanks mate. Chairs are made by Frontrunner
Fantastic!! What gear do you use for filming?! Best, Pedro (Portugal)
Thanks Pedro, Cameras we are using VVV

If you lock it manually, it does much the same thing. The hubs should never be left in auto whenever you engage low range.
The weak link in these hubs is not so much the auto ring but the two fingers deep inside that splay apart, which then allows slip which tears the rest apart. They are just a bit of pressed plate, rubbish design.
Good
Is that Hemsworth
awesome video guys, just wondering what size tyres everyone is running?
35's on the Patrol. 33's on the Jeep and 32's on the Hilux 👍
I like the rear wheel tyre step ladder on the jeep at 3:37, anyone know where i can get one from?
That is a Front Runner product.
Did you guys have snow chains and what PSI did you use driving in the snow?
No chains, using around 15-20 psi. 👍
I bet everyone carries gloves with them now.
Snow in Australia, I had no idea
ua-cam.com/video/ompTHReNwIk/v-deo.html
Why isn’t the patrol running manual hubs? Wouldn’t have exploding hub problems then.
Hadn't had any issues with factory auto free wheeling hubs up until recent times.
Manual hub upgrade and you’ll never look back. I use to run auto with 35s and every second trip I was replacing one. Factory manual hubs are by far the strongest hubs you can get for them, don’t bother with aftermarket rubbish.
Any track closures boys?
You'll find out in TRACK III.
Why would you go up to the high country in that weather and not have a winch on your vehicle, looking for trouble.
2 of 3 have winches. No dramas on the tracks we drove.
👌👍 broo
Hi there
Could you please give me a run down on the Hilux ?
Year
Lift size
Tyre size
Etc etc
Cheers
2015, 2 inch lift but full suspension upgrade is on the way which means upgrading the 32 inch rubber is on the way also
Location please?
Where have you guys gotten your ceiling cargo nets from?
Company called BOAB
Btw whats that music at 10:00?
hello friends what are your boots?
511 tactical and Steel blue mate.
Did you have alpine diesel? If not, any issues?
At this stage of the trip i don't believe it was alpine diesel. No issues.
That poor Jeep must have some kind of facial disease
Did you have to get permits to drive there?
No permits Jarrod. All public roads
Usual recovery vehicle being recovered.
What do you guys use to edit your videos ??
Final Cut Pro X and Davinci Resolve.
Your voices are much alike or is there a third brother doing the voice-over
Some secrets are better left untold. haha
what time of the year was it?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That much firewood, really guys only use what you need. leave some for the rest of us.
What was that animal that passed
Some form of kangaroo.

Tiny bit chilly. Should have stayed in the swags, nice and toasty in there.
