      I like that they lock together tight, they're simple and have minimal plastic or rubber parts. Also like this style rather than the tubed steel and wire mesh platforms. Trying out traditional archery this year and trying to be as mobile as possible. I want to get to places other hunters aren't willing to get a treestand to. Also I didn't realize how adjustable they are. I'm pretty much sold on the design.

    One thing about these budget stands is they can push you to be a better hunter. You sacrifice bells and whistles for the price tag yet you take what in front of you and tinker on how to improve with the resources you may already have. Good learning experience.

    My man Cory Anderson, 💪 I was looking up xop because I didn't love my lone wolf climber and I stumbled upon this.
    This looks perfect for me.

    Nice video! Thanks. Looking for a second stand in addition to my LW run and gun too. Think I’ll wait till the XOP drops back down to 150 though. Unless Amazon is 50 dollars more on the regular? They make it too easy to return things if something is not right. In the past, I’ve had issues with stands, ie. Lone Wolf sticks, even their climber, sit and climb

    This is the first video I’ve watched of yours so if you’ve already done some of these I’ll find them. First have you announced and done the giveaway yet?
    I’d like to see a comparison of the beast hunting gear vs the novix helo or similar.
    What is the real difference from one wolf and LWCG? Just the price? I have the LWCG 2.0 but I think I should’ve went with a smaller one because I wasted all the weight saving benefits with a larger stand.

    • @OutdoorswithOvertime
      @OutdoorswithOvertime  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, the giveaway was announced awhile ago.
      And the 2.0 is about the same weight as the lone wolf assault 2. There's alot of difference in the 2. Be sure to give a sub

    I like the XoP stands but I don't like the seat height . I'm 5 ' 9" and with the seat cushion, the seat is too high. Lone wolf has there seat height dialed in. I think the Xop stands are easier to hang though.

    • @OutdoorswithOvertime
      @OutdoorswithOvertime  3 роки тому +1

      Negative. Just 1.0 and Ambush for LWCG.
      I'm a minimalist, so there's no need for the wolf pack for me. I use a fanny type bag. It's on the channel, check it oit

    You kept on talking about my Lone Wolf but I never saw one lol. But let me tell you why my Assault 2 is better than that XOP. Yes, it’s a little more expensive, but it’s not nearly as expensive as that Lone Wolf Custom Gear stand. Anyhow, the Lone Wolf Assault 2 has a wider tree V to help prevent kick outs on larger trees, a better finish that doesn’t flake off, American made, and actually weighs what they say it weighs, 11 lbs with all straps and seat pad. Put that XOP on a scale and you’ll see they lied lol.

    • @OutdoorswithOvertime
      @OutdoorswithOvertime  3 роки тому

      I never talked about a Lone Wolf, but I talked about Lone Wolf Custom Gear which is lighter than both yours and the XOP. But as the thumbnail states this is about the lesser priced product versus the more expensive.. not the in between. So in other words you get what you pay for if that's all you can afford. The more you pay the lighter they get. Some can't afford to cough up the big/bigger bucks for a stand. So that little bit of weight will not bother them. I started my hand and bang journey with a XOP Maximus.... 20lb stand and it got the job done.

    • @davidrussell631
      @davidrussell631 3 роки тому

      @@OutdoorswithOvertime wow. I had no idea the XOP Maximus weighed that much. You’re the man if you hang that stand every hunt lol. Easy to see why they don’t sell that one anymore! For someone wanting a full-size lightweight stand, the 30” x 19.5” Lone Wolf Alpha 2 and cheaper but identical Novix Echo weigh in at under 12 lbs. They say it’s only 11.5 but I’ve got the footrests on and haven’t taken them off to check for sure. Anyhow, I was talking with a lady with Millennium tree stands and she explained why the Chinese made stands like their’s and XOP come in heavier than advertised. She said some would weigh in at spec while others would come in quite a bit heavier. Basically it’s because the Chinese aren’t as picky when it comes to the alloys they’re using.
      Edit: I should add that I didn’t realize how big the Maximus was. That thing was HUGE, so I shouldn’t surprised at how heavy it was.

    If you run a piece of rope/ paracord through the seat and over the bat-wing (in a loop) on that XOP stand, you can get the seat to rest at a 90 degree angle and act as a shelf while backpacking it in & out. Get to your tree, lift the seat, undo the loop over the bat-wing, and you are ready to hang it. Very simple mod, and it makes strapping a backpack or extra clothing to the tree stand a cinch. I actually used my XOP Evolution to pack out my buck this year after I quartered him up. Worked perfectly!

    • @OutdoorswithOvertime
      @OutdoorswithOvertime  2 роки тому

      I've seen a few different ways to make the seat into a shelf. I haven't gotten to use the XOP this year actually for hang and hunts. I have a couple pre hung for permanent stand set ups on the season. But between the saddle and 1.0 haven't needed to pull out the Evo and my camera man prefers the saddle

      Yeah you do but I must say, anyone on the fence about a vanish evolution should just buy it. You'll never regret that couple hundred bucks spent. I bought a Lone Wolf Alpha 2 for $250 at Scheels a couple years ago but now it's at 360 from novix! Thats a huge price jump. My XoP went from 200 to 220 but it's still worth it at 220. Plan on leaving the alpha in the woods on private property for rut pinchpoints but the vanish Evo is perfect for being mobile. I'd rather have it than a novix and save some dough. The lone wolf and XoP stands already feel super lightweight to me. They are a breeze to hang
