I tried your method and it opened the drive for a bit but when I tried to change the security info it wouldn't let me open the user file. While i was trying to figure it out, the drive "disappeared" from my file explorer. I unplugged and re-plugged the drive back in and I saw the files again, but then it disappeared again. Do you know what this might mean?
When I did this, the pictures file was empty. Not sure if there's anything I could do about that, hope someone knows if there's a way to get them back. It's all my memories from 2013-2018, all of high school and some more.

Well, the actual problem is I pressed clear external storage and it came up with a black screen and told me some information to install a “ operating system on your hard drive”

Hi! Thanks for posting this informative video. I got the connecting wire. When I plug it into my new computer, the blue light is not blinking just solid. Nothing is popping up and I don’t see an E drive. Do u have any advice?
With a video title of "HOW TO RECOVER DATA FROM A DEAD LAPTOP", then finding out this is only for a specific laptop, I was skeptical about watching the rest of the video. Then when you connected the adapter to the hard drive (out of view of the camera) and said "you will hear the fan running", I couldn't continue. You obviously do not know enough about computers to be giving advice to people on UA-cam that could result in possibly corrupting software or damaging their computer.

I was having trouble opening the user`s folder, this helped a lot
it's...not a fan spinin. It's a shiny super smooth metal disc that has a reader going over it, bigger gb hard drives have multiple discs.
