I am so sorry my darling. I have this to come, my darling pops has terminal cancer, saw him yesterday, got his face in my head, can't sleep. Got domestic violence, nowhere to turn, my pops was my rock. I am so sorry to disturb you. Please grieve in peace. Sending you so much love, my pops made sure I had a heart, but it is really breaking xx
Im almost 70 years old and still love this band among Creedence and all those great rock players. And I see my self like a old fashion mexican lady, so Im very happy to read this comments
We are born free and wild. Later we are pushed to be fit into some box of conformity. Some of us break free for awhile....others are not so lucky. For the few of us still running free....it starts to get lonely as many of our friends have fallen behind...but how are we supposed to fit? We can not. We will not. We must ride on. Still looking for that never ending highway... somewhere we can truly be free.
Well spoken I know Its difficult fitting in a box I ve been trying to bust free and they keep saying quit thinking outside of the box Makes me even more want to succeed out of the narrative of a box because thats all it is. Me too. 72 and this reminds me of all those that have gone before me. ‘The rest that have gone before us cannot calm the unrest of those of us left behind’.
Thank you, Ivan. What you say is true, and I am happy to have a life of experience. Having survived cancer, every day is a bonus. GOOD music is timeless and will forever touch one's heart
I think we were fortunate to have lived through the best of the times. I want to say more, but I would then be boring. So, let's just "rejoice" in our time ❤🎉❤
My dad passed away this past Thursday. This was the song my mom and him had their first dance to, and was also their wedding song. Seeing my mom break down crying when we played this song for him in the hospital hurt so much. We miss you more than words can convey dad❤

So sorry for your loss. I'm 69, grew up with the Stones, the Beatles, ... I feel my age, and sometimes cry myself to sleep while thinking about the days we knew, and those we lost. It's a sad journey through our lives. I offer you peace, love and hope over this coming year. We'll all meet together again in another plane.

This song has such a special meaning to me. It reminds me of my mother who is suffering from depression and other mental issues over the last 30 years - basically whole my life (I'm 21 now) and no matter how hard I try to help her out (by cooking and feeding her, cleaning the apartment, giving her (too) many advices over all these years, trying to make her happy) I never succeed. She is never happy, not even for me. I want to make her happy, but at the same time she makes me unhappy and I sometimes resent her for that. :( Faith has been broken - because she lied to me about my father all these years (I found out recentely about him), tears must been cried (I always cry when I listen to this song), but I somehow always end up hoping that someday we'll ride the horses together - meaning that she will find her peace and I will follow her into the light. This song gives me everything that a song could give you - hope, love and emotions. It speaks to my heart in the same way that I speak to my mother. Thank you, Rolling Stones!
+Jm Schulze I love reading and yes - I thought about writing, too! I feel like I've got so much to tell, but at the same time I'm afraid people wouldn't understand me, or that I would be misunderstood, but I guess I'll never know if I don't try. :) It's just that sometimes I have so much sadness in my heart, that would make people sad or bitter, because of my stories and I wouldn't like that. Well, at the end of the day, that's life. Thank you so much, by the way! Your comment really made my day. :)
+Samanta Rizzi trust me one day you'll be rewarded for everything you have done so far and until than i'm pretty sure my dear that even wild horses won't be able to drag you away :)
Forever connected to my one true love. Sitting in a parking lot, listening to this and watching the Vienna skyline at night. We lost contact over the better part of 30 years. Now, at our 40th anniversary of the class of 1982, we met again and changed numbers. I invited her to a coffee, if she's got time. We're both old and gray, but I still feel the same affection. The one true love of my life.
Thank you Jon for your music, it has got me through many hard times from 1987 till now, Xmas 87, 11 years old and my Mum was in hospital on life support with cancer at 36. My dad already had passed away by time I was 4 yrs of age...took her 2 years to recover with lots of hospital visits. This song still keeps me strong as I now go through the same cancer. ❤🎉
My sweet warrior,. each of us walks a solitary path from the cradle to the grave....sometimes we find friends along the way who keep us company and give us something we need and at times we find those to whom our outstretched hand means everything. Be an outstretched hand and you won't be so lonely. Your pain will be lessened and your strength to live another day will be doubled. Take the love I give you today right into your heart and know another warrior has befriended you.......Karen,. 73 yrs old.
This song has one of the most beautifully devastating closing lines of lyrics in all of music: “I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie. I have my freedom, but I don’t have much time. Faith has been broken, tears must be cried. Let’s do some living, after we die.” Man what lyrics.
My great grandmama loved horses and my mom always loved the stones so naturally this song was super poignant. When my sister played it at her wedding, I couldn’t hold back the tears as I walked down the aisle
My uncle always listened to the rolling stones. Miss helping him work on his American cars and going to the American car yard he worked at in South East London in the 80s. He was always smiling and happy. Never moody, always had a positive outlook on things. Bloody miss him...
Charlie, you can rest now knowing that you have left behind masterpieces that will be played for centuries to come. You live on forever in the music you left behind for all of us to enjoy. Thank you Sir and rest in peace
Always been a fan, but this song makes me cry every time I hear it. A favorite cousin LOVED the Stones and we played this at his funeral, his brother hardly made it through. tears me up still. This song has such deeper meaning for me the older I get. RIP Todd, Love you.
Charlie was the perfect drummer for the Rolling Stones. 80 years is a long time for rock n roll star to live. Married to one lady for the rest if his life...a family man ...God Rest His Soul.
Keith tells of the original inspiration for the song. His son Marlon was born to Keith and Anita Pallenberg in August 1969 and there was talk about going on tour shortly after he was born. Keith was so enamoured with his first son he did not want to leave and he insisted that "wild horses couldn't drag him away" from his son to go on tour. Keith immediately recognised a great song title and wrote the music and the refrain ...then brought it to Mick to flesh out the verses. Mick changed the lyric to be about a love affair breaking up, and one of their greatest songs ever written came into being from a very real emotional reaction Keith had about his son. I love stories like this that tell where the inspiration for a great song can come from.
@@bohemianlikeyou1988 The real genius of great song writers is to be able to recognise when a genuine emotion and a catchy phrase combine to become the raw material of a great and emotionally moving piece of music. Keith definitely has that genius.
I read somewhere that it was inspired by the time Marianne Faithful was rushed to hospital after a drug overdose, and when Mick turned up she begged him not to leave, to which Mick replied "Don't worry wild horses wouldn't drag me away". But who knows?
@@eddiehockley4144 *I know* . Your story is bullshit rumor and sensationalistic conjecture, eddie... I have heard Keith tell where the inspiration for wild horses came from several times and in several different interviews. Right from the horses mouth, so to speak. It fits with the way they wrote most of their hit songs. Keith is inspired and comes up with the refrain and the germ of the song's musical melody and then hands his composition off to Mick where he fleshes out the rest of the verses lyrics and together they refine the whole song.. It also fits with the deep love Keith has for all his children. Richards is a devoted family man. His first born son, Marlon, he had with Anita Pallenberg, was very special to him.
50 years since they did this amazing song and album. Soon it will be 60 years since they started in 1963. Hats off to the greatest rock & roll band in the world! 🙌🏼
Here in the U. S. 2 of my favorite radio stations used to play "the greatest 100 rock songs of all time" and do the greatest rock band, I was partying a lot in 87-88 but I remember both years they put The Stones in 2nd place and Beatles in 1st. Personally I'd switch it. Those were the years I was introduced to Metallica, Megadeath, saw the 1st airplay of Welcome to the Jungle on MTV, LOVE all those bands and music but I was raised on rock from the 60's & 70's. Some of THE best music EVER, especially The Stones.
I was 16 years old when my father passed away it was 1976 ,when i did not like it, i listened to the rolling stones and special wild horses which helped me to deal with them, tears of sorrow
From a young girl, I loved horses. I’ve known about many, rode some; yet, still have an affection for those true, wild horses in America. A true journey of survival. Yes!
I'd met my graceless lady around 1971 - when this fantastic song was all brand-new - and I never got over it to this very day. each time I listen to it, the bitter-sweet memories linger on and tears must be cried......
This is by far my favorite Stones song. I was a teenager in the 80's I had older brother's that turned me on to the Stone's. My brother's have passed on now. This song is simply amazing. I listen for the bass and strumming. When a guitar can bring the bass out its just unbelievable Y'all did that. 😍
Totally amazing. This song is for my Pop's. He passed away 27th July 2024. He helped me through my crap. My partner was finally arrested today for domestic violence. Hell knows what will happen. I know i am not the only one, but life is so hard. I am so alone. Miss my pops, he told me to get out. On my pops funeral, my do xalled partner, never came! I am scared of trains, was attacked on one. I had to get the bus back from my pops funeral on my own... My pops was right. So sorry i let you down. love you to the moon and back 😢❤
@annegladmana4338 a million thanks for your message my darling. It's weird, he used to eat juicy fruit, that's all I can smell. Merry Christmas and thank you 🎄🎄❤️
one of my all time favorite songs. I was in Jr. High when it came out...This one and others from that period they would play several times a day have a special meaning-Brown Sugar,Bitch,Behind Blue Eyes,My Sweet Lord, It Don't Come Easy,What Is Life, love Her Madly, Riders On The Storm...
This was the first time I listened to the rolling stones, and I was immediately drawn to this song and listened right away. I thought this was a masterpiece, and now I have memorized a lot of the rolling stones songs, this adds happiness to my life
Good Afternoon! This song reminds of the love and kindness that my husband of 10 years had for me. His name was Daniel Stewart Grayson. He was a hard worker and a dreamer. A very consider man. Very kind to everyone he meets. He try to help them. He was a Vietnam Veteran Marines. Marlene Toledo Grayson
This song was already sad enough, now with Charlies passing in my head this makes the song ten times harder to not cry to. Rest in peace Charlie Watts.
I am and shall always be a fan of The Stones I'm 59 yrs old I still remember listening the records my brother and sister played in the sixties. I was 4 , 5 yrs old It was wonderful !! And still is ! In 1982 I went to their concert in Basle, Switzerland . It was the first time !! We were a bunch of friends who drove from Lausanne
Wild Horses is their saddest and most melancholic song. I'm a guy and I'm crying. Just sitting and thinking of moments when I was in love and pain, this band was with me all the time. It brought me the happiest moments in life. Stones are a part of me, in the very heart ❤
This may well be my favorite Rolling Stones song, beating out many tremendous competitors. Something about this tune evokes a potpourri of memories from my long-lost youth -- sad, passionate, melancholy, hopeful, longing.... I never thought Mick Jagger had a very good singing voice, even though he's a tremendous composer and performer. But he nails it big-time on this song. I highly doubt anyone could do a better cover.
Jagger sounds so world weary and sage on this song. I love the way the the stones resolve the chord sequences; introspective yet forging on through life with swagger.
The first paragraph of this song my husband always sang to me. We were together 40 years. He passed two years ago and someday we will be together riding those Wild Horses ❤..til then my love😘
My aunt took her own life a couple years back.. I always put this one on for her, she was an amazing inspiration on my life and I’m greatful for all the late night joints we smoked to The Rolling Stones and many other greats . Rest in paradise aunt Beth. I love you forever
Thank you Mr. WATTS. R.I.P. Wild Horses. Mmmm brings back some of my greatest and testing times in my life. In a nut shell it was two people who just fell in love with each other. No regrets really only that it didn't last longer. Excellent work STONES
Love the Stones... I've always liked this song. I heard this today and it brought me to tears. I was thinking of my daughters father, my ex who was just killed a few months back. We had a tumultuous relationship but now I'm left with memories and songs like this that just... Just talk to me. Looked for a lyrics video, this was a great one. Thank you.

I sang this song word for word to my mother 05/05/17 the morning she passed away! Ironically enough she was named after another stones epic tear jerker Angela(Angie) rip mum! Life has never been the same since you left us!
Thousands of times I play this song, in rhythm with the pain of my life, I want to be free like that wild horse, free without anyone blocking me, God help me
Hold Fast and Stay Strong my friend... You and I are going through some tough stuff right now. I hear you and I love you my friend. From East Coast 🇨🇦 Dec. 20 2022.❤💪🙏💪
Wonderful song that only took meaning for me as I grew old. Covers all stages of life. Being taken care of as a child. Finding the love of your life. Watching your parents die and realizing you are next. Then realizing that you can finally live before you die. My favorite Stones tune.

Hang tough and God speed in your recovery 🙏
Hang in there, one day at a time.
Sending prayers.
73 yrs old.
I'm so sorry ❤
Sending prayers, hope you are well ♡
I love this song, being a huge fan of them since l was 13 in England and saw them in concert. Brought tears to my eyes. 😄
my favourite Rolling Stones song, thank you Christine
Yes soo Amazing 👌
This song has one of the most beautifully devastating closing lines of lyrics in all of music: “I know I’ve dreamed you a sin and a lie. I have my freedom, but I don’t have much time. Faith has been broken, tears must be cried. Let’s do some living, after we die.” Man what lyrics.
Says it all hay
Couldn’t be better said my friend
My great grandmama loved horses and my mom always loved the stones so naturally this song was super poignant. When my sister played it at her wedding, I couldn’t hold back the tears as I walked down the aisle
This song still makes me cry after all these years. I was 17 when it was released and I understand it more deeply as I get older.
why?
I've listened to this tune a million times, and I can't wait to hear another million times!!! Music like this is timeless!!!
My uncle always listened to the rolling stones. Miss helping him work on his American cars and going to the American car yard he worked at in South East London in the 80s. He was always smiling and happy. Never moody, always had a positive outlook on things. Bloody miss him...
Your uncle would be very touched to read your comments.💓🎵💓May your beloved uncle RIP.🌹❤
My absolute number one favorite song out of everyone that ever performed written and or sung
This is one of the few songs I can hear all the emotion in Mick Jagger's voice. Well done! This song withstands the test of time.
P
Shame he can’t sing in tune tho!
And Angie too?
❤ (Sad) I cry tears for the ones who can't deal with the test of time! RIP

Charlie, you can rest now knowing that you have left behind masterpieces that will be played for centuries to come. You live on forever in the music you left behind for all of us to enjoy.
Thank you Sir and rest in peace
my favorite Stones song ,a melodic masterwork
Listening to this now, as Charlie has passed :(
Rest in Peace legend.
R.I.P Charlie Watts
i hope find the peace and Brian Jones in the other side
Always been a fan, but this song makes me cry every time I hear it. A favorite cousin LOVED the Stones and we played this at his funeral, his brother hardly made it through. tears me up still. This song has such deeper meaning for me the older I get. RIP Todd, Love you.
Here I am, listening to it and crying too, girl.

When I hear this I can still picture my late husband playing it and imitating Mick to make me smile because it's a beautifully sad song ❤
a beautiful song to go along with your memory.
I played this at my husbands funeral
My condolences. I lost my husband 3 years ago. My niece would sing Wild Horsies when she was little.
This song is so touching. And I can't stop playing it. These courage in it, no matter how difficult can be one day shall come to an end.
Charlie was the perfect drummer for the Rolling Stones. 80 years is a long time for rock n roll star to live.
Married to one lady for the rest if his life...a family man ...God Rest His Soul.
So achingly beautiful . A balm on a most troubled world
Keith tells of the original inspiration for the song.
Thank you for sharing this precious story! 😊
@@bohemianlikeyou1988 The real genius of great song writers is to be able to recognise when a genuine emotion and a catchy phrase combine to become the raw material of a great and emotionally moving piece of music.
Keith definitely has that genius.
Thanks !!!
What a beautiful song
Agreed
I'm very certain that this is in the top ten most perfect most unbelievable pieces of music there is in existence today
50 years since they did this amazing song and album. Soon it will be 60 years since they started in 1963. Hats off to the greatest rock & roll band in the world! 🙌🏼
I used to listen to The Stones with my boyfriend we were bikers in the 60s happy days we've been together for 59 years different days
Stones started on '62.
@@arthurbishop3173 I know, their official beginning with their single “Come On” was in 1963 though
Sticky Fingers released in 1971!
I was 16 years old when my father passed away it was 1976 ,when i did not like it, i listened to the rolling stones and special wild horses which helped me to deal with them, tears of sorrow
Theo Froon I’m sorry much love from Oregon.
Theo Froon im sorry from Brazil. ⚘🤝
It's "praiseless lady" according to the sheet music I saw.
@@BruceMincks The sheet music was wrong. The OP had it correct.
Good song Keith
“ Faith has been broken...tears must be cried...let's do some living after we die...💔"
R.I.P. Charlie 😔 1941-2021😔
The line “Let’s do some living after we die” is so touching, and it hits hard for me. RIP Charlie Watts.
Yes indeed they are "wild horses" and you were the one who kept them together!
RIP CHARLIE!!
The Stones are known for their hard rock songs, but 'Wild Horses' and 'Angie' are two of their best.
I totally agree their best song ever written, when I listen to them I feel the same as the first time. It never changed
I like their early R&B even more.
And Sway
Hard rock? Lol
@@latifadumas142 This song was not written by the Stones, but by Gram Parsons
Love ❤️ this song 🎵 ❤️, it's beautiful and amazing 🎉🎉. Mick is showing his softer side ❤️ 💙
So sorry i let you down. love you to the moon and back 😢❤
Aww, bless you, my love . Your pops is still around , although you can't see him . Believe me , he is there, with you ❤🙏

This song was already sad enough, now with Charlies passing in my head this makes the song ten times harder to not cry to. Rest in peace Charlie Watts.
I am and shall always be a fan of The Stones
I'm 59 yrs old
I still remember listening the records my brother and sister played in the sixties.
I was 4 , 5 yrs old
It was wonderful !!
Yup. I know exactly what you mean.
Here also
❤
One of my favorite songs by them. So beautiful
I came back to this song many times when I'm feeling blue. Today I came back again for Charlie Watts. Rip legend. Rock n Roll will never die.
Now this is proper music
This may well be my favorite Rolling Stones song, beating out many tremendous competitors. Something about this tune evokes a potpourri of memories from my long-lost youth -- sad, passionate, melancholy, hopeful, longing.... I never thought Mick Jagger had a very good singing voice, even though he's a tremendous composer and performer. But he nails it big-time on this song. I highly doubt anyone could do a better cover.
Jagger sounds so world weary and sage on this song. I love the way the the stones resolve the chord sequences; introspective yet forging on through life with swagger.
This is the first time my little brother has heard this song.
"Let's do some living after we die" Rest in peace Charlie...
Thanka a billion !!! The rolling stones ll be so different w/o you ! R.I.P.
