OBS on Flatpak and DaVinci Resolve have to be the two most temperamental programs I've had to troubleshoot on my 3 months of daily driving Debian, I'm somehow glad to see it's not just me the one having these kind of issues.
have you tried turning wayland back on and using these environment variables instead? GDK_BACKEND=x11 QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb you can add them one by one in a application like flatseal on obs i remember trying to do this on nvidia and it had similar problems, one thing to note is development for wayland on CEF which is browser docks uses is starting to be solved so this workaround wont be needed soon in the future
I'm running Linux Mint 22. Installed from the system package won't run. I do have the flatpak version running fine but it seems to be ignoring my plugins directory. I placed it where you showed us to but no joy. Is there a way to force it to see the plugins folder?
downstream keyer, move transition, source clone seems to only support system package version of obs, if you want those plugins you will need to open a issue/feature request for this to be supported under flathub explaining to the developer that he can bring support through the gui stores so it can be easily installed in the plugin section Some users have already opened a flatpak request for some of these plugins if you want the system package version if you haven't tried already install it through obs ubuntu ppa instead from linux mint sudo add-apt-repository ppa:obsproject/obs-studio sudo apt update sudo apt install ffmpeg obs-studio
i was able to get the dev to support source clone under flatpak so you can find that in the plugin section on your gui store, ill see if i can get the others supported in flathub/flatpak obs
@ thank you so much. I am grateful for the help. I’ve only been using modern about 4 weeks. It’s been 25 years since I used Linux regularly, but I didn’t use the desktop before Linux Debian and now Mint.
other users dont like flatpak or snaps yes, there are probs some other repos you can find for obs but they will be not maintained by obs devs and may not have browser docks included
@@linuxnext You've installed Nobara. Why can't any distro or at least a vanilla Fedora link to that the same way and install that fully upgraded version of obs? That links to a version of OBS that installs with everything you could ever want installed already.
@SecretlySeven im pretty sure its a copr repo? With a modified version of obs with browser docks included that glorious eggroll maintains Not saying thats bad, iv used it multiple times on nobara just the wide majority of users dont have access to it if their not using fedora or nobara There is a aur version of obs that is maintained by a big contributer to obs studio but i wont recommend that either as it could be unmaintained at some point
@@hazedaundergod7537 i shouldnt need to do a video on that, i specified the location of the plugin folder for system version of obs in this video, you the user need to download the plugin and drop it in that location, shouldnt be that hard ngl
Also pro tip. Go to output in the settings and turn on replay buffer. It will let you take gameplay clips like nvidia shadow play.
