When they started with demise the place went fucking nuclear and a monitor started falling and we caught it and put it back in place! Talking to zakks roadie Freddie Kowalo about being in the movie Rockstar was great! Just a trip, I know zakk was up the night before they said drinking crown like a champ so he had to be tired for this show. He went backstage halfway through the show and i saw him through the curtain collapse so the band jammed on voodoo child till he came back out. Crazy crazy show
Saw this show at The Madison Theater in Ky in 09. Sevindust and Dope opened. Sevindust sucked but Dope kicked some f'n ass then BLS came out and blistered everybodys ears, they were f'n LOUD 🤘😝 before the show I got Nicks artwork on the back of my jacket. He drew the skull and BLS logo on it because I didbt have the patch 👍 Then he signed the shoulder. Wasbt even a Meet&Greet, he just came to the bar in the theater before the show to hang out. Real cool dude too, zero attitude.
What's interesting is that he still sometimes does on certain songs. I remember seeing a video of him performing Genocide Junkies as recent as 2019 and he sounded as powerful as he does here. Makes me wonder if it's less to protect his voice as he ages, and more of a stylistic choice.
