Mig-29SMT is truly a monster, but only if played well, its skill biased plane, where there is no room for mistakes I've been in a battle and got 6 kills in one match, it was one of my best battles, I've made a video in my channel about this round :D
It literally is literally nowhere near the word monster. Any jet can work with right tactics, luck and a lot of skill. That doesnt mean the jet is a monster.
If you havent yet, id probaby get the 27SM, its for the most part better... altho one of the funnsies you will miss is getting 12.3 downtiers where this thing melts any opponent
27SM is much better. Only real downside is it's radar. It isn't that user friendly but you carry twice as much missiles, it gets to altitude and high speeds relatively quick and it doesn't bleed as much speed compared to SMT when defending which makes it a much more preferable BVR platform at top tier.
@@4buzerKomurcu I think it is good to note high altitude BVR isn’t a strong suit of the mig29, it’s a point defense fighter, it’s best performance in my experience is low to medium altitude
@@thatoneguy1741 that's absolutely right. But the problem is the already short range of R-77s. If you fire them at low altitude and lower speeds it will have drastically less no escape zone compared to high altitude mach 1.5-1.7 launches. You could argue that radar missiles fired at BVR are mostly skill checks against less-skilled players and I'd accept that too, but having more tools is always welcome.
Isnt the german mig 29 better than the smt even though having no r77 🤔 In this sales discount of november ill buy the german mig 21 and the soviet mig 23 ML Ill grind the sukhoy 27 sm first then ill give a shot on this plane. Soviet missiles are something different at close range u know😏
I havent really tried the 29G but it has some issues that i really dont like (worse radar, worse rwr and worse cm count) but it also seems like another solid choice
The german Mig29G is definitely not the best choice if you want to play with a 29 at ARH tier, if you want to grind germany for it's air top tiers then I'd suggest you wait for december, when they'll most likely add the swiss F-18. As of right now the Mig29G nor the F4F ICE are worth grinding.
@@justjake1038 well said! i personally dont have 29G, but the fact you can only carry 2 r27 and you have very bad rwr tells me its most likely really bad vs any uptier, where theres spamraam everywhere
@@BiasedThunder Asbolutely, I played both the german Mig and the F4F ICE extensively. The Mig has a good flight performance and good weapons, but bad radar, rwr and countermeasures, on the other hand the F4 has good radar, rwr and weapons, but we all know the flight model is not it. They both not fit really well in the top tier scenario, it's just a matter of having patience for new additions :)
