Love the show as always, nice to see level headed supporters instead of the insane people on social media. I think Howe has performed miracles given the circumstances.

5:56 correct Chris 🤣 no one talks about how we hit the bar twice against Dortmund. It's that we were "well beaten" and "didn't turn up". Also we go one on one with the keeper nearly every game we lose and unless it's Isak it nearly never gets converted. 1 on 1s are way harder than they look in the height of a game.
    FINE LINES. REMEMBER THAT!

The players are responsible for the 7th place finish. They did a great job but we lost games like Luton, Liverpool at home etc that they should have won.
We finished 10 points of 4th. 3 wins and 1 draw is not a million miles away with a squad riddled with injuries.
Saying this season was a failed is stupid.

I went to the MCG to see the Tottenham game for £75 and came away pretty happy with the experience. However, I feel for the fans (new and old) who probably spent similar cash to go see Newcastle at the Marvel Stadium and only got the kids. Fairplay if it had been advertised that way but I don't believe it did. My game was fine but it doesn't sit well that the club was willing to do that to what shouldn't be an insignificant group of fans. We're all supporting the same team.

Great comment mate and absolutely spot on ! You certainly wouldn't be happy if you spent that kind of money to watch a load of kids and as far as I am aware it was only from Eddie Howes quotes in the press conference's after the spurs game that we had an inkling that it was gonna be kids out there and it did seem like a lack of respect

It's been a good season but all the disappointments have come at key moments. We just didn't win enough big moments and can't seem to overcome our always the bridesmaid never the bride mentality- a bit concerned by the attitude of the club towards Aussie fans. That Friday game was a bigger rip off than the Willy Wonka factory in Glasgow😂

Lads all ill say is Forest at home, Luton at home, Everton at home, Bournemouth and Brighton at home all dropped points that would of had us in top 6

1st time watched the podcast & very good thank you. However, can’t agree with comments this season is a failure. Been going since 1972 - NUFC hardly ever finish as high as 7th with the disaster of injuries & a ban to our marquee signing. Agree totally though that Top 6 must now be minimum aim. Top 4 a possibility with Klopp & Poch leaving & Spurs have been found out.

I'm not sure how you can headline the show with the blunder from down under. The big game with all the revenue was the spurs game. Most if not all the big players played and we won the game. The 2nd game was just a runout for the youngsters. Strange headline from fans of the club

The head loss in some ‘fans’ is ridiculous. We move on. Next season we can concentrate on the league & domestic cups. Gives us time to sort out the squad, strengthen & recover. Hopefully less injuries with less games. Can’t wait - HOWAY THE LADS! 🖤🤍

Finishing 7th isn’t a success. It isn’t. Regardless if you’re in the crappy conference league or not.
Look at how the two clubs either side of us viewed the season. Failure. Manager sacked. Christ Leicester won the PL and sacked ranieri.
This loser mentality needs to go and a better understand of what the PL is now. No evidence how is anything more than an average PL manager. None at all

@@Kristian-wj9up I’m not saying it is as simple as that. We had bad injuries but so did lots of other clubs. There were so many mistakes from Howe and having 6th in our hands and blowing it - that’s the context and it’s still a failure

@@dansnowden9147 we had the team with the most minutes lost through injuries than any other club. We also had a thin squad to begin with compared to other established clubs fighting for European football. Thinking 7th is a failure for a club that was fighting for relegation a few years ago is absolutely ludicrous and the very reason Newcastle fans get called deluded on social media by other fanbases.

Decka - what gives you the confidence that Howe -after finishing 7th in two consecutive seasons (you said keep him if same again next season) after spending about £700m - is the man to compete for trophies?
Surely if he finishes 7th again then that’s likely his level. Which isn’t good enough.
It’s become almost cult like the support for Howe. Dilutions that he’s going to turn into the modern Fergie. Ridiculous nonsense

    • @Kristian-wj9up
      @Kristian-wj9up 3 місяці тому +1

700 million? Since Howe has been in charge he’s spent €469 million (£399 million) which has resulted in our first champions league in 20 years and a cup final, and despite the most injuries and days lost through injury in a premier league season still got us within touching distance of Europe again and several cup quarter finals and a dodgy decision away from going through into the champions league knockout stages. We finished above Manchester United for the first time in premier league history. We demolished Chelsea, Tottenham, PSG, Man Utd, Sheffield Utd by 13 goals in two games. It’s seems the cult is other ‘supporters’ deludedly expecting better? Like what exactly do you want here?

@@Kristian-wj9up read it again. I’m saying after this season (so inclusive of this window and next) being around £700m.
It’s the amount of errors tactically, with team selections, over loyalty to players who aren’t good enough and just some awful performances. He isn’t a top manager in terms of the best in the league. That much is white clear to anyone who recognises what the best look like. Howe is quite a way off but he’s done well enough to this point and should leave with his head held high

Eddie Howe had said a young would be played straight after the first game. The trip was a no-brainer. Apparently, 3 million pounds was earned. The Aussie fans I saw online seem thrilled. Also, in the second game, they were a few first team players on the bench but would have pointless using them as the game wasn't going well. I would say don't think the majority of them young players aren't good enough, but most have been released. Hopefully, the likes of Harrison and the ones we are getting in will be more up to it. 👍🏻🖤🤍
