    We rise, we grow
We walk and we stand tall
    We never fall
    As big as the sky
    As far as the dawn
    We walk
    And we do not fall
    We sleep, we dream
    With no time in between
    We never stop
    Whistling our chant
In the heat of the night
    We sing
    The spirit is clean
    From north and south
We come from east and west
    Breathing as one
    Living in fame
    Or dying in flame
    We laugh
    Our mission is blessed
    We fight for you
    For freedom unforeseen
    Thinking as one
    Rolling along
To the beat of the drum
    We march
    The black cross machine
    We stand alone
But soon the day will come
    When freedom rings
    We'll meet again
    Now eternally

NRK are known to do quality recordings, they are or at least were frequent visitors to the Roskilde festival here in my country, and did some smashingly good air to air recordings that DR actually bought back in order to broadcast.

The dude at 1:50 widens his eyes and lifts his eyebrows twice in surprise when he hears "We fight for you / for freedom unforeseen." While you may think of North Koreans as brainwashed and ignorant, anyone high enough up in the social ladder to be sitting there in a theater in Pyongyang is going to have a keenly honed political instinct and extensive ideological training, simply because those are requirements for literal survival. That guy understands exactly what's being said and the implications.

I saw Laibach during their first European tours in the '80s. Incredible. Ideology? Capitalism? Communism? BS. As people, we don't need to be straight-jacketed into any dogma. There are so many great comments in this thread: respect, comrades, brothers, and sisters.

    • @narfle

I mean, they call themselves "laibach", which is what Ljubljana was called under the nazis. So your whole question of "ideology" is a bit weird.
When people tell you who they are, believe them?

    • @BintAlAbla1999
