  • First we go to a job for a blocked toilet and we come across a cover which we can't get up without breaking it up due to the way the tarmac people have installed a new cover so we have to try figure out a way that we can get the toilet clear. Later on in this video we have another blocked manhole that's a bit of an odd one that's flooding someone's garden and then we also return to the first job to sort out that cover.
    Enjoy the video.

    Great skills with the man-hole cover and doing the formwork for the concrete.
    Always shows clean, tidy and methodical attitudes to his drainage jobs.

    I only watch 3 drain cleaning channels because you 3 are by far the most skilled that I have found on UA-cam. I watch you, Oliver from Drain Addict, and Bruce from Drain Cleaning Australia. You are the only one I’ve seen that uses the rope trick. I wish the other 2 guys would watch your videos and learn your trick😂 Oliver has a great “trick”. He duct taped a large shark fishing hook to the end of a pole and he can retrieve lots of stuff from the bottom of pipe shafts, such as clumps of roots or foreign objects. He keeps it in his van and it comes in handy quite frequently.

    That odd 450 drain into the u-bend looks like the Aussie boundary trap design with the riser removed and replaced with a manhole. Someone was experimenting with new trap designs there I think.

      Its definitely been altered because the bottom is clay but with plastic risers

    🤗 Oooo… I like a gurgling toilet ~ similar to the older siphonic ones, the 2nd was a Windsor trap; instead of traditionally extending its “rodding-eye” to the surface, they installed a round plastic manhole on top of it and fitted the eye through the bottom hole of the manhole “sealing it”. when the “trap” got blocked ~ the manhole functioned as a holding/septic tank for the sewage = quite ingenious I think. All you needed to do is pour “buckets” of water into it to re-liquefy the thick sewage to go down the un-blocked trap 😉. Looks like the 1st manhole cover had been bodged by a cowboy builder 😠, who only cared about sealing it to stop the sewage/drain smell

      Definitely needed lots of water, i think they did it so they didn’t have to touch the original cover just lazy not there problem to get up in the

    Nice work on the cover. Maybe get your boss to acquire a rotary hammer and move things along easier.
    Also, I believe the rope trick has been used enough, it’s no longer a trick. Needs a ‘fancy’ technical term. I’ll suggest “tethered guidance method” 😂

    In that chamber, after you got it emptied, I would have used the plunger to stop up the pipe in the bottom, let the water run and fill the chamber with water then pull the plunger, large amounts of water will help push things down to the main.

    • @samuelfellows6923
      @samuelfellows6923 4 місяці тому +1

      If the Windsor trap was still blocked = that would have risked the sewage back-flowing into the drainage system of the house 🫢

    Look at the state of that leader hose! Get a new one mate, that’s going to injure someone without notice and possibly fatal ! Look after yourself and others around you, legal obligation remember. Pehaps some eye and ear protection and and some water against silicosis wouldn’t go a miss too?
