  • Calabar is a port city in southern Nigeria, near the Cameroon border. The capital of Cross River State, sits on a hill near the Calabar River and the Cross River delta. British colonial architecture fills the city’s older sections, including Henshaw Town, Duke Town, and the waterfront area. Dating from the 19th century, Duke Town Cathedral is one of Nigeria’s oldest churches. The nearby cemetery offers river views

With what I have seen in this video of calabar, and my little knowledge of cross rivers state we only have ourselves to blame as Nigerians for our suffering in the mist of plenty.
I have been to a couple of African and Asian countries and have come to the conclusion that we leave our paradise to go suffer in places that cut our lives short.
We don't have to be from calabar or cross rivers state to come settle down here. With a very good remote online business giving you legitimate revenue, this place is good to go. No west African coastal town beats this, you would live long here, life is very short.

Hi David... Your video of Calabar captivated me! So many fond memories came back to me! I am from India and 60 years of age. Quite a long while ago, between 1977 and 1980, I was in Calabar as a young schoolboy when my father (a civil engineer) was posted there on an assignment for the Water Board. Both me and my brother studied at the Hope Waddell (HWTI) during that time, and I took my GCE - O level from there in 1979. I just can't thank you enough for showing me around the school. So much has changed there, and so has Calabar! It seems to have become much more beautiful and clean than when we left the Nigerian shores way back in the March of 1980. I take this opportunity to thank all my teachers at HWTI (especially, the then Principal, Mr. Effiong U. Aye), and all my friends in school. I am sure they must be all doing fine (should be all around 60 or thereabouts) and I yearn to meet them sometimes in this life (God willing!), if I get a chance to visit this beautiful country just one more time sometimes! Thank you once again for reliving my memories. God bless! D. Sen.

Yes, for him to take tourism seriously, generating the tourist from within ourselves, from different other states of Nigeria.
We don't have to invite foreigners to come for tourism in calabar. Most of them have a destructive curruptive influence on their host destinations, countries like Sierra Leone and Gambia are examples of the tourism we don't want in the beautiful pure city of calabar and cross rivers as a whole.
