PLEASE DO A LONG VIDEO EXPLAINING EVERYTHING IN DEEPWOKEN i am a newbie and i feel very lost i want to play this game but its so hard and i cant seem to have fun
In deepwoken, you spawn in for the first time at either the etris or isle of vigils inn. (For your first little while i’d go isle of vigils). There are 6 attunements/magics, but shadow and iron must be unlocked. Each stat does something different, just hover over it in game. Races have little to no benefit, so don’t worry over getting a rare one. Heavy weapon is big damage, low swing speed. Light is low damage, high swing speed. Medium is in between. Light is best for pvp, but heavy for pve. Medium can do both generally. To increase your stat points, do something that uses them - to increase heavy weapons, fight stuff with a heavy weapon, to increase agility, run around and dodge, and so on. The wiki can tell you what to do. Once you’ve used it enough it will often say “Your ____ has potential, with the right equipment, you can draw it out.” this means when you use the equipment item for that stat point it will guranteed increase by one. Ankle weights for agility, weapon manual for weapon, boulder or vest for fortitude. The “investment points” number under your stats when you press tab is how many times you must increase a stat to level up. By clicking on the circle at the top of your screen on level up, you get “talents” which are cards that give you special skills or useful passive abilities. Every other level up, you get “Mantras” which are magical abilities. You can only get the mantras for the attunements you have. There are also mantras that are not connected to any attunement. Each mantra is 0 star to 3 star. To get each: 1 point - 0 star 20 pt - 1 star 30 pt - 2 star 50 pt - 3 star As you can probably guess, the three star mantras are usually the best. Mantras can be modified with purple items you find from defeating things or in chests. Each one can be used by recalling the mantra at a campfire and placing it on a mantra table with the modifier. The will tells you what they all do, some modifiers don’t work on some mantras. Basic Combat and Controls: Left click - swing weapon, use item, equip item, place thing Right click - use when hovering over item to drop, mainly for “feinting” a weapon swing or mantra. This mean you cancel it midway, good for messing up the person you’re fighting or to quickly of something else. F - parry, hold to block. Do not spam f to parry. It has a cooldown when you fail it and you can learn about combat form videos and the wiki. Middle click or R - Criticla attack. This has a wind up and can be cancelled if you are hit during the wind up. Wasd to move, double tap W to sprint. Shift - shift lock, very very important to turn this on G - vent. this chucks everyone around you away. can only use if you have enough tempo. Control - crouch or slide Space - Jump or climb Other keys like z and x, t and h do other stuff for specific things Health - health, duh. When it hits 0, you are knocked down and only get up if you aren’t hit for 10 seconds. If someone is carrying you, you can’t get up. If they execute you, you lose a life. In the game, a reddish orange health bar means you are on your first life - this is good. A stained orange bar means you are on your second life - this is less good. When you are executed on your second life you go to “the depths” (layer 1/scyphozia). The only way to leave this place is to beat the trial in the middle of it. If you are executed there, you go to the “fragments of self”. This is basically purgatory, heaven and hell. You talk to yourself at the end of the path, and that character is forever dead, so you must start from the ground up. In this place you can spend 1000 robux at a shrine to go back to the overworld, once per character. The whirlpool at the end of the parkour lets you pass down weapons and items to your next character. Achievements your character does will gain echoes when they are ended. Echoes can get upgrades that last over every slot and character you have. You can turn on difficulty modifiers to increase your end echo count. If you are at least level 4/5, falling into the void of the depths will put you in layer 2. There is no way i have time to explain what to do there, look up a youtube vid. To simplify it, kill chaser. This is a very hard task if you are not quite good at the game. To escape layer 1, go to the middle of the town looking place, the cathedral of interstice. The way most players use to get in here is climbing on top of the walls using barrel stacks in the corner of the section of the town they are in atop a building. You can also run all around the city - celtor - and ring these high pitched sounding golden bells. Ringing all four opens a gate in the district of commerce that leads directly to the cathedral. Weird looking spotlight creatures guard the bells and will summon somewhat hard enemies onto you if they catch you. Once in the cathedral, go into center by walking around. Do not talk to the weird glowing shrine thing, it will make this much harder. Go onto the platform and pull the lever, and hold K to use an emote like “rest” on the platform. It will take high up to the actual cathedral. If you are level 1-3, possibly 4, you have nothing to worry about. The voices will yell at you and let you go. If you are higher level, this is not good. The voices will give you a trial based on your level. This is a monster of varying difficulty. Bringing more than one player usually leads to multiple monsters. If you bring too many people up, the voices will tell you you to kill each other until only a few remain. If you are level 4-6 or 7, you get a drowned knight. These are oddly difficult for how low level you are, but practice makes perfect, and be careful with them. You can run in circles around the room and occasionally turn around to use a mantra on them. 7-11 is an angel. These are pretty rough. The key here is to parry every attack, and swing back or critical after you parry. They may feint you, so always hold f to block their hit. Maybe look up a video. 12-16 is a sharko/megalodaunt (same thing). These are pretty easy at this level. Their attacks have a very common pattern and are easy to react to. If they lift their arm up, parry. They may swing on you twice. Then attack them twice. If they bend over, hold f. This is a ranged attack. If they lift their leg back, you’ll see a red circle and hear a violin sound. This means you must dodge, by pressing Q. Meant to mention in controls Q is dodge and E is interest.
REPLY 3 Tempo goes up and down by down by dodging and parrying. When your tempo is at the line, press G to vent. You can only carry so many items, look at the bottom of the big box when pressing tab. Bottom left is blood food and water. Bottom right has notes (money) on the bottom and knowledge on top. knowledge is used mainly for deep shrines. You get it by killing bosses for the first time and leveling up. You may see whirlpools around the sea. If you jump in, it will take you to layer 1 of the depths. This allows you go to the depths with a soul. This means you can enter places like castle light or the ignitions unions little zone ( currently useless ). Castle light is the main way and safest way to go to layer 2. You must be level 15 to speak to the lady in the back. Finally, i’m gonna go over origins. You automatically get the castaway origin, which is etris or isle of vigils. Go vigils first to use the trainer guy to learn parrying. When you wipe (full die) for the first time you unlock the lone warrior origin. This is a trial where you fight weaker versions of different monsters but with a very fast early leveling system for fighting them. You can leave this place by dying in their ( sends you to depths ) or by killing every trial. This is a great way to learn monsters attacks, but it is very hard for a beginner player. If you beat it you leave at like level 7. If you talk to a guy named akira ( found in a weird section of the depths ) and then go to castle light and talk to him, you get the deep kind origin. This spawns you at castle light and you can use the place to regain sanity. You pretty much live in the depths, but with increased xp and bell progression. Your depths trial is automatically an enforcer, even at level 1. It gives you an ability to instantly return to the depths in the overworld. The last origin (and the reason people quit the game) is voidwalker. You get his by killing like 5 people and talking to a guy under a boat during the knives of eylis versus etrea event. This spawns you at the void heart, and gives you two items. The godmother lives here, and will send you to where ever you last returned to the void heart from. The void heart is a floating place in the sky. The main purpose and the hatred for this origin is the bounty board on the wall. Nearly every island with an inn has a bounty board, but with one of the items you get as a voidwalker, you can teleport to your bounties instantly and see their location. You can tell someone is after you usually by the pulsing black lines in a circle around them. If you kill the voidwalker when they come for you, make sure to tell them they suck and grip them with no shame. 90% of characters are sent to the depths and therefore sometimes wiped thanks to voidwalkers. The other items teleports you to the void heart. Reseting in the game has a 30 minute cool down and requires you to stand stand completely still without getting hit for 30 seconds. It send you to your spawn and does not take a life. I think this covers most stuff? This took like 2 hours to type believe it or not. Watch some videos to learn more, and block parry dodge. I hate voidwalkers Long live destroy man 3000
