- Okay guys, here is part two of the Brown Bear/White Bear reupload, done after I noticed ravingdrooling's account suddenly disappearing without notice. And just like last time, this one has all three parts spliced together into its original half-hour format.
White Bear's Secret was a 1992 television special produced by FilmFair, adapted from Martine Beck's 1990 children's book "Ours Brun et Ourse Blanche sous l'avalanche", also known as "The Rescue of Brown Bear and White Bear" in English; following the events of "Brown Bear's Wedding", Brown Bear and White Bear are now married, but Brown Bear is finding the married life a little harder than he hoped.
Brown Bear and White Bear were created by Martine Beck, this special was created by FilmFair, and White Bear's Secret is owned by DHX Media/WildBrain. All rights reserved to their original owners; not me.
I have also removed the "For Kids" restriction from this video too so viewers can comment on it as well! (let's hope UA-cam doesn't try to reprimand me, especially when there's a chance that WildBrain could just... post their version of this special for kids to watch like they did the first.)
And at some point in the past I also made a captions track for this video, so both specials now have closed captions!
My wife and I found these videos a few years back, loved them because they reminded us of ourselves, and so we also bought the books. For children yes, but also gentle reminders for couples.

I saw this on Disney Channel and never realized that was Helena Bonham Carter as White Bear all along so that makes it my first time watching something with her!

Despite the fact there are no villains in these two animated films, they are still very enjoyable to watch and there is a lot going on. It is based on a book so maybe there are no villains in the book and they had to be faithful to their source material.
As far as I can tell, both the books are like that. The first sees the conflict coming from Brown Bear longing for White Bear, and the second is the avalanche as well as White Bear's pregnancy. No villains, just life!

Childhood memories
Is no one going to mention that Helena Bonham Carter voiced White Bear? This was way before Harry Potter and Sweeney Todd.
Also, Dr. Gregory House or should I say Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie) is in this too.
Correct on both! Hugh Laurie voices Owl in particular. Meanwhile Joss Ackland voices Brown Bear. He's apparently been in a lot of movies, but the only role I can name for him off the top of my head is the Black Rabbit of Inle from the ending to Watership Down (1970s version).
@@SankaJonesCreations I don't know him anywhere else outside of this film except Watership Down. I didn't watch Watership only heard of it and saw small clips of it. That film is not for the squeamish.

@@mkaplan1383 Despite Ackland's impressive CV, I've only seen him in one movie: as King Arthur in A Kid In King Arthur's Court. One of my favourite movies of all time. Although most people remember that as one of Kate Winslet and Daniel Craig's first movies.
@@FandubWorld That was him? I've seen that film at least 4 times in my lifetime and I didn't know that. As for Kate, this was way way before she became a surfer cat in Blue Crush and Lois in Superman Returns.
There are no songs in this either, just instrumental music.

Goodness that bit with the objects turning into monsters is disturbing, it scared me at 2 years old, I still do not like the bit with the wasp as I do not like insects.
I remember watching white bear 🐻❄ secret on the Disney Channel when I was a kid it's been a long time since I saw this special and she did good job on keeping this secret. 😀👍🐻

I'm afraid so. From what I understand, there WAS a third book by Martine Beck and Marie H. Henry called "Balibar et les oursonnes" (sold in English as "Benjamin and the Bear Twins") that I think deals with Brown and White Bear's son and what happens when they wind up having two more cubs, but as far as I know, FilmFair never cottoned to adapting it. Whether lack of interest or other matters, I don't know, but it basically meant that only Brown Bear's Wedding and White Bear's Secret were made.
@@SankaJonesCreationsIt's a shame that Benjamin and the Bear Twins didn't get adapted into a film as well as Brown Bear's Wedding and White Bear's Secret. For it would've been nice to see Brown Bear and White Bear's son all grown up

Is White bear a polar bear or a white grizzly?
I've wondered the same myself. The sequel book this special was based on mentions the two of them watching a TV program about polar bears at one point, but no hints as to White Bear being related to them, so I think she may be just a white-furred brown bear/grizzly (which, while rare, can and do exist!).

I heard just earlier that Joss Ackland died. Very sad news! Very sweet though seeing his fans coming here to pay their respects!
I've only just heard! He lived a very good life of 95 years and a rather impressive career. Check out his filmography, I didn't realise he had like 150 credits! RIP.

I'm sure that Ingram and Manchester's version of the song would be at the end of the cassette. Let's hope the video won't be blocked by copyrighted music holders! There IS a third book in the series by Martine Beck and Marie H. Henry they were based on, "Balibar et les oursonnes" ("Benjamin and the Bear Twins"), but FilmFair only adapted the first two.
