- The Three Seas perform "Thakte Manush" at the old 505 Theatre in Sydney, Australia. The Three Seas combine elements of Indian folk music and Australian jazz with a soulful and diverse array of voices and unusual instruments. Centre stage is young folk singer Raju Das Baul. His amazing stage presence, arresting voice and virtuosic Khamak playing showcase the best of the Baul tradition. Deaoashish Mothey brings his enigmatic style from the mountains in Darjeeling, while Kolkata-based rock drummer Gaurab Chatterjee (from the famous Bengali band Lakkhichhara), smoothly bridges musical cultures. From Australia, saxophonist Matt Keegan completes the unique sound of the band, with Stephen Aphlick on double bass for the band's next album and this performance.The Three Seas' debut album “Haveli” was recorded on location at the Piramal Haveli in the Rajasthan desert and is available on Yum Yum Tree Records.

Great baul fusion. Very impressive baritone infusion, especially the last bit was incredibly playful. The double bass was equally versatile in laying the right baul-background. Good question! Firstly thanks for your interest in the music.
I assume the 2nd half of what you wrote says that the composition doesn't really need a sax part - or something along those lines. Is that correct? I tend to agree with you - but the main reason there is a saxophone in the band is that I am the band leader and also a saxophone player! I also love Baul music and so try and try and find a way to fit the sax playing into the music. I usually do an ok job of not getting in the way too much but also totally understand that it may not be to everybody's taste!
I've been practicing my dubki playing but I'm still not good enough on that instrument to accompany Raju just yet! I'll keep working on that : )
আমি বীরভূম এর ছেলে বাউল কে ভালোবাসী আর আামার মধ্যে বাউল বিরাজ করে আর ভবার গানে কোনো বিদেশী যন্ত্র মানাই বলে মনে হয় না
তবুও বাউল অনেক উদার বস্তু তাই আপনি সব কিছু করুন কিন্তু ভাব নস্ট হলে তা আর বাউল থাকে না শুধু কথা গুলো থাকে।
কথা গুলো কে একটু বুঝে গান গুলো শুনুন সব পরিস্কার হয়ে যাবে
