This was great and so helpful - thanks Kristen! More of this type of format (brain dump) would be excellent. As you said, there should be no secrets...and these types of videos help ensure that transparency for us folks considering using a team like yours.
We appreciate your input! 🖤
So agree with having one person speaking to the contractor. My husband and I had a minor remodel completed two years ago. I had two rules for the contractor: 1) No work gets done unless I'm on site; 2) don't ask my husband to answer any questions. He doesn't have the answer. Even with these rules, which the contractor followed, we had one or two communication issues which needed to be talked through. By the way, I'm retired so I could be on site. I've learned over other projects, that if you are adding the word "assumed" to your thinking you'd better ask for clarification.
OMG Kristen you are singing from my hymn sheet.
Point 1. I basically gave up my interior design business because I realised that clients really just want someone to just say all their ideas are great and there’s nothing we’d change! Navigating client’s egos is soooo frustrating and it just ends up feeling like we’re designing by compromise.
Point 2. Another bugbear… my husband runs the building side of our business and putting deadlines on completion always ends up in putting undue pressure on the build team. So many things can go wrong, from supply of materials & fixtures to uncovering unexpected issues that need sorting before moving forward.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing!!🖤
All very well said Kristen. All of these issues come up repeatedly in our design/build business. It is very frustrating!

I am about to do a kitchen remodel. The range is currently in the island and the sink is under a window. Ideally I’d like to swap the layout but it involves moving windows. Is a range in the island dated? Would I regret not moving the sink to the island and the oven / range / hood as a focal point in the kitchen?
👍love this☀

Great info… how do you handle or track changes (ie:design, cost, etc) between owner, contractor or design team
Hi! We track all design changes through our detailed spec books.
Can we have an update on the ILVE stove. She had mentioned that a video would be coming. It would be appreciated. Thanks
Hi there! We will make sure to pass this along to our creative team!
Hi Kristen,
We are about to embark on a full kitchen reno and are currently trying to figure out cabinet color. I saw one of your videos in which you featured accesible beige from sherwin Williams and I loved how it looked so I bought a sample and tried it on a cabinet (my old kitchen is still intact). There is a lot of natural light in my kitchen which is why I feel that accesible beige works but am curious if there is another color that has the undertones of accesible beige but in a lighter shade? I also tried Grecian ivory from SW and thought I liked it at first but as the day went in I could really see the green in it and by nighttime with the lighting it just looked blah. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
Hi! You can lighten the paint with Sherwin Williams by saying you want the color at example: "60% shade." Hope that helps!
Thank you!
LORD I SWEAR clicked so FAST gr ease⚡⚡⚡ONCE AGAIN DAMN WHAT I WAS WATCHING 😂😂MY GURL IS ON!!!! lets Go🔥❤🔥❤🔥

Hi! Is there by chance any videos/photos of nurseries you have done? I was inspired by the Rayan rug & was looking to purchase it but I haven’t been able to find any videos or photos on the blog to get a feel for what crib etc would pair well.🫶🏻Thanks in advance for any help!
Hi there! We actually have used the Rayan rug recently in a nursery, here's a link to that project! thelifestyledco.com/blogs/portfolio/georgia-peaches-proj
