Whenever somebody posts passages from the book, it makes me want to read them _so_ bad. I used to be such an avid reader but for the last decade, my brain has been full of so much life shit that I cannot focus on books; I've tried. I sure do miss reading for hours on end.
When the starks say winter is coming. They dont just mean the physical winter. They also are talking about hard times are coming as well. In winter they must protect themselves.
Winter in their world could last years even decades. That's why 'Winter is Coming' is so important. Just imagine what you do to prepare yearly for 3 or 4 months of winter and magnify that to prepare for years of winter.
The Queen (House Lannister)actually intervened by saying there was another dire wolf. The King (House Berathian) would have been happy with disciplining the children.
Yet Sansa was still enamoured with Joffrey and admired the hell of Cersei despise what happened to her wolf.... shes an idiot in the first book simple as that (but shes a good character because watching her develop is great)
@@marti9734 yh... i don't know about the books but in the second season at least it is clear she understands the danger of slipping up - and so her development begins :) definitely annoying in first season though
I agree that she was hateful at first, but I also understand that her character was about being that innocent young girl fed by dreams and fantasies that the world she lived in wanted her to be. So I think it makes sense for her to be that way in the beginning, then only after the world starts kicking the shit out of her (having those fantasies and dreams completely frustrated and destroyed) she start to see things for what them really are and finally starts to mature. Sansa has a really good character development.
Daenerys was 13 in the books, 17 on the show. Sansa is a 13 year old girl who's always wanted to be a "Lady" and now is within grasp of being a princess, and queen...at this point I'll cut her a bit of a break....she grows up.
A couple of points: 1. Daenerys is 17. We know this because she was born at the end of the rebellion 17 years ago. The characters were aged for pragmatic reasons. Jon, Robb, and Theon are also roughly the same age 2. In these days, you were an adult the moment you were able to father/mother kids. The baseline definition of an adult just means you can biologically produce offspring, legal ages vary by culture
Daenerys is 13 in the books, I think, but yeah she is older in the show. Also, that's not the definition of adult; it's to be fully grown or mature. Legal ages are absolutely not just based off of culture, but science as well, as your brain doesn't fully develop until you're around 25 and decision-making is the last thing to be fully developed. Nowadays, we understand that minors cannot properly consent to sexual activity due to their decision-making not being fully developed yet.
@@nickdoe7770 But of course is legal age mostly based on culture. Modern western culture may be mostly based on science, but others are strictly based on tradition & religion. Also, many cultures (for example, Islamic ones) are strictly patriarchal, and that means female consent (decision-making) is mostly considered a non-issue.
@@Anedoje Oh yes, because forced marriages, child brides & honour-killings are just evil western propaganda, right? 😁 And I couldn't care less about Islamic law. I only care about the real-life conditions in certain countries.

I don't think it's that she's mad at Jon for leaving. I think she resents him like Steejo said initially. Even if it's petty and it's not his fault, it's still a reminder of Ned's transgression
Kind of. Dany would have died of too much riding horses and too much drogo sausage at night if it werent for that "dream" of her ancestor getting the wings out of her back. He is a dothraki
It's interesting. I never interpreted that exchange between Jamie and Jon as ill-meaning, but rather as a warning to Jon that the Night's Watch isn't the kind of thing you should be honored or seeking to join. Granted, he went about saying it in a sarcastic and cocky manner, but I feel like the reason almost everyone interprets it as just being a jerk is primarily because the show has tried to make us dislike his character. So we aren't prepared to see the well-meaning sides he might have.
Let’s see… I’m part Scottish, never met Drew McIntyre that I remember, but I am married to former WWE wrestler Ricky Steamboat. GOT is still our fave show ever❤️ Love your accents❤️❤️
15:39 - there is another issue. Jon and Robb (Ned's eldest son) are approximately same age. It is possible to legitimize a bastard, Ned can do it. Then it becomes the question of inheritance. And Catlyn definitely doesn't want Jon to take away from her kids.
26:26 since you're interested, about 630 km worth of "wall" was "built", with about 500 km of it literally just replacing an already existing wall/fence with a different one for little to no reason. So only about 130 km of new "wall", which actually only stretches about 75 km since almost half of the distance of newly built "wall" is secondary barriers and supports for the primary "wall" along the same parts of the border. Also, smugglers and traffickers repeatedly sawed/cut through it with ease and there have been more than a few claimed instances of Mexican citizens just coming up and taking apart the wall/fence to use the material for their own houses/construction on their side of the border. So no, he never got his wall.

This show is full of symbolism and foreshadowing. In episode one, a Stag and a Direwolf collided and both died, but the pups lived. The Stark Sigil is the Direwolf. Baratheon is a Stag. Foreshadowing of the two houses clashing. Bran (Brandon) opened his eyes at the exact time the Direwolf (Lady) was killed. Here's a fun fact: Catlyn Stark played Hermione's mother in Harry Potter.
Daenerys is 17 or 18 in season 1 of the show. They aged up most of the characters a bit for fairly obvious reasons. Dany, Jon Snow and Robb Stark all are about the same age, and their age is tied in the story timeline (book and show) to the big war, Robert's Rebellion, where he becomes king. Ned's wife mentions '17 years ago' so that must be Jon's show age at the start, which puts Robb and Dany at 17 or 18 or so.
also i forgot, Dany logically is the daughter of the previous king, so that's why her age has to be tied to his death during the rebellion. i think in this ep or the previous her brother mentioned having waited 17 years for his crown, etc.
Though Cat is a huge bitch to Jon, it helps to remember that it's been shown that Ned treats him as his son (except for a few formalities he has to observe in public for political reasons), and that Robb, Bran, Rickon and Arya treat him as their brother. Sansa, who's a shallow blockhead on top of taking after her mother, is the only one of his siblings who doesn't treat him well. Even his Uncle Benjen seems to treat him the same as the rest of Ned's kids. So, all things considered, he had a good life at Winterfell despite his bastard status.
It makes sense for her character. She’s a young, fantastical girl who only saw the world as a story or song(which it is, essentially 😭). So her seeing Jon, a bastard born of sin, as lesser; along with her delusions of KL and Joffrey perfect sense. It makes her transition in the later seasons/books that much better. She’s almost insufferable in the first book, especially, but she’s gotten so much development since then.

Dear Suzy, You're right: the most of the time "they" treat women like shit. However to make up for it a bit the show has quite a number of very strong and influential women. And whats wrong with being a feminist? Anyone should be one: just ask anyone if they want that woman should have equal rights and possiblities and many would agree; in my mind that's a feminist and so am I (at least I'd like to think so). Carry on with your great work and warm regards from the Netherlands!
I think it's because "feminist" is becoming "hate all men, take over, etc." rather than "equality, equal rights, harmonize with men rather than hate on them". That's how I took it. (And it's true. I see a lot of feminist often hating and being a bit sexist towards men... That's what I've been seeing lately anyways)
@@seri4636 You're talking about radfems, radicals in any political movement are full of extreme nonsense. Feminism always will be equal rights for women + men not matter how many loud assholes shout over everyone else

They're going to give you all kinds of "advice" along the way. Just don't read the comments & get a monitor if you can. There are many out there that will do you good! You guys take care until next time.
I have watched her cry so many times over Naruto her reaction to G.O.T is gonna be so depressing episode 1 season 1 oh u have no idea the waterworks we gonna have to witness
I love your reactions guys, you're great together! Although with so many going on with this show, i think it's litteraly impossible to not get any spoilers reading the comments. You have no idea how many times i wanted to type something sarcastic in response of some of your comments... But that would be spoiling the future so i didn't. Not everybody is good at controling themselves though... The urge is huge with this show! 😅
Sansa gets a lot of the hate about this and I never understood why. The conflict was between Joffrey and Arya, I love Arya but she did escalate the situation. Even a child, in the world that they're in, should understand the significance of attacking the crown prince.... Sansa didn't choose sides, she stayed neutral. How do you think Joffrey would have treated her when they married if she betrayed him? Doesn't seem like the forgiving type to me. She has no choice who she weds, she wasn't betrothed to Joffrey because she wanted it, she is betrothed because it was part of the terms of Eddard being named Hand. She chose to stay neutral rather than side with either which, under her circumstances, is completely understandable. I respect your initial reactions and thoughts but imo she did not deserve to have her direwolve killed or to be called a "stupid c**t". That being said, Sansa certainly isn't portrayed in a positive light in season 1 so I understand the reaction. Just remember we were all 13 once. Honestly, who doesn't look back to their teenage years and cringe about the people we had crushes on, it's happened to the best of us lol!
Arya not only did not save her friend, but she literally dug his grave herself. Arya was so afraid of punishment for fighting with the prince that she hid in the forest for 4 days and it was during these days that the Hound found and killed the boy, even before the trial. And if Sansa had told the truth at the trial, everything would have only been worse, Cersei would have strangled Arya in her place. In the books, Cersei persuaded Jaime to kill Arya, but he didn't have time to find her. And the butcher's son might have survived if Arya hadn't intervened. And the Lady was killed simply because Cersei wanted revenge, and the Lady was the only direwolf in the camp. Sansa's personality and actions played no role in this decision
In a way, what Jamie said to Jon might be seen as a kindness. Reminding him that taking those vows was “for life.” And that it might not be exactly what Jon thinks it will be, I.e. “an elite force”. I see no reason for Jamie to taunt Jon Snow whatsoever. But maybe I’m wrong.
Do recommend a notebook or something to take notes. Especially if you aren’t great at remembering names and relations etc. also always good for writing down discussion points. Some of the episodes are jam packed with stuff and you’ll forget stuff from the beginning by the end. Really enjoy your reactions so definitely want you to be able to really enjoy the show.
Nice rx! Sorry about the episode. GOT knows how to upset. Keep that in mind. If it makes you feel any better, the dire wolf Lady may have just died on the show but Sansa (Sophie Turner) and her real life parents adopted Lady and took her home after this. Lady was their (Sophie’s) dog and lived a wonderful loving happy life with their family.
Really nice intro, Steejo, well done. I saw the title and thought, well, that was a short-lived series. But I would understand, the ending of this episode is the one part of GOT I can't rewatch. All kinds of mayhem and murder, fine, but this is an innocent direwolf. And Dany's not 13 in the show, quite obviously. All the characters are aged up from the books because it would look rather strange to today's audiences and a lot of the filming would be illegal! Anyway, great fun, and I've got ep 3 to watch today as well.
Jon Snow is my favorite character. I think him being a basterd and his father’s teaching’s really lay heavy on Jon. It’s what motivate’s him to be better and honorable.
My favorite thing about reaction channels: when a reactor makes a simple comment that is actually foreshadowing something seasons away and they have NO clue. All reactors need someone sitting with them to look knowingly at the camera when that happens!

Steejo is correct, John as "Neds BStard" is a permanent reminder that Ned apparently cheated and also if for some reason he was legitimised he would be a challenger to her own children inheriting the positions and lands this could lead to (another) civil war.

Theres a difference between modern day feminism and feminism from the 20th century
@@ukuviispert9599 You're right!
@@seri4636 You're talking about radfems, radicals in any political movement are full of extreme nonsense. Feminism always will be equal rights for women + men not matter how many loud assholes shout over everyone else
"The little Lord will remember that" Steejo: "Are you a Telltale game?" This broke me lol
Had to sub after this reaction. Thank you for the giggles, while ideally you catch every nuance, the constant banter is so good, DONT QUIT!!!! lol have fun see you next episode:)
Omg you're the best I love your reactions so much! Both of you are so funny and genuine
"The dragon eggs shall be mine!"
"They're already hers!" 🤣
Just watch the show for the first time, how they cut one of the best lines in the whole book?
"Jon... it should have been you"
I love your commentaries, you guys are hilarious
it was good to hear both talking about Drew.M in he intro his one of my favorite wrestlers in WWE
This is the first of your content I have seen and just wanted to say I enjoyed it and will have a look at more. I loved your unique style especially the fact that you didn't take yourselves too seriously and just had fun with it! Well Done!
I don't think the issue is youtubers talking during reactions but asking what's going on after they talked over the dialogue that explained it.
Yeah that is annoying.
In books... Daenerys was 13 when she was married to Khal Drogo.
Love your reactions so far. You'll really enjoy/hate/be frustrated/love this show, I'm sure. Get ready to be just about pulled through a knot-hole every episode. Just know people love their GOT's.
GOT reaction's are like fine wine.
This and the first reaction were great! This show gets really good.
Well said.
Agreed, she is basically a bystander but gets the brunt of the anger from fans.
I could not read it more then 3 sentences. But... ew bruh
Dont worry steejo got this
"I'm gunna give her the benefit of the doubt." 11:35 Oh, you sweet summer child.
Daenerys is 13 in the books and 15 in the show. But yeah, still young.
And Drogo is around 30.
Sophie Turner is a LEGEND! 🦋🐶
Love your reactions, thank you!
I’m furious... “I think your supposed to be” 😂😂😂
Yeah, you're gonna need your doggie nearby for therapy more and more as the seasons go by. 😂
What you see in this show is exactly how horrible life was in those times (at least the equivalent here on earth).
Jon Snow is my favorite character. I think him being a basterd and his father’s teaching’s really lay heavy on Jon. It’s what motivate’s him to be better and honorable.
I really like your reactions guys, the first episodes are a bit slow but then it gets better, please don't take long with the missing ones, greetings
And now Robert stark and jon snow are in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
And just remember, things get worse before they get better 🙃
lmaoo i love that steejo knows the weiner song
My favorite thing about reaction channels: when a reactor makes a simple comment that is actually foreshadowing something seasons away and they have NO clue. All reactors need someone sitting with them to look knowingly at the camera when that happens!
You guys are awesome!
Id watch stuff with you for sure!
❤😊👍🏻
Keep this going.
Im loving it!
Absolutely hilarious!
🔥❤
"she is only 13 at this point". In the start of the books Danearys is 13, in the show she is 17.
Great reaction! Can't wait for more.
I LOVE IT! I just found your channel. And I am always irritated by people who complain about the REACTORS, REACTING! THANK YOU FOR SAYING “it’s NOT NETFLIX” you two are so funny. I’m loving it already! SUBBED!
Steejo is correct, John as "Neds BStard" is a permanent reminder that Ned apparently cheated and also if for some reason he was legitimised he would be a challenger to her own children inheriting the positions and lands this could lead to (another) civil war.
The only thing I can really say is just buckle up. This show is better than some actual roller coasters I've been on.
"It's like he's been permanently stabbed in the ass!"
That was the moment I hit subscribe. :)
Omg, you two are so much fun!! Talk all you like!
Great reaction guys! This will be an amazing ride
😭 yeah this is a hard ending. I have 4 dogs myself, three of them very wolf like.
21:00 , she's 17 in this episode. 13 in the books.
“What r u a fookin Telltale game” lmaooo
Keep up this TV show my friends, i love GOT so this reaction serie will be full of mixed emotions.
Only death pays for life. Lady (Santa's wolf name) was sacrificed. And Bran woke up. Interesting.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, your time and your opinions. I enjoyed watching you very much.
I don't understand why people tell y'all not to talk during what you do. That's what I love is others reactions. Those people need to watch the show. Keep doing what you're doing. ❤❤
the night is dark and full of terror
Watching a "GoT" reaction and they start talking about Skyrim? I am f*cking home! ;-) Cheers from Florida.
Calling Ned cheater Is just a knife in my heart.
In the books the younger characters were all younger than they are in the show. Dany is supposed to be 17 in the show.
Okay. I gotta admit. I was about to not watch you guys again. But I saw the thumbnail and figured I'd at least see how it went. It's clear you are already emotion invested and care about what's happening. So I'm here for it. :)
