    Why does the direction of cut matter when you're doing a segmentation?

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  3 дні тому

      @@bushwacker49 makes a difference on the final appearance of the piece. The pilot hole is hidden better. It also creates the top piece to go into the bottom piece. You could change the direction if you want by tilting the head or the table to the other side and then cut in the opposite direction.

    I don’t know why it took a UA-cam so long to pop one of your videos up for me!
    I have had a scroll saw for two years now, and I have never used it until yesterday. You gave me the confidence and the know how to get started! Thank you so so much… :-)

    I’m so glad I found your channel. I just bought my first scroll saw. I’ve been a woodworker for a long rime and always wanted to try this. Your videos are so well made and you simplify the process when teaching. Thank you for sharing this.

    I don't understand why you cut on a slight angle for inlay???

    • @SusanLoar
      @SusanLoar  Рік тому

      This is to make a tight fit. You could cut at a 90 degree angle but there will be a slight gap the width of the blade when
      you put them together. The angle creates a nice tight fit. My suggestion is to cut them both ways so that you can
      decide what kind of look you would like. I hope this helps.

    You presented a very thorough, clearly explained process. You took what many would see as intimidating and made it quite approachable. Thank you for an excellent video. Blessings, Glen

    Simple design, but elegant. Very nice. I like it! Which Titebond was that you used? I don't have that one.

      It is called Titebond quick and thick. It is in a gray bottle and it’s only for interior projects. I like it because it dries so quickly.
