- My 2001 Lexus IS300 with a 1UZ swap! The 1UZ engine is the predecessor to the 3UZ. This is a very common swap overseas in Europe and Asia!
The 2JZ was ripped out and swapped with a V8!
Hey this car is now totaled, I sold it to someone a few weeks ago and they crashed it and totaled. 😢 now at junkyard

That's sweet! Lexus should've made these with the UZ engine stock, Chip Foose did a 3UZ swap on his IS300 with a V160 transmission.
That 3UZ swap with the V160 should've been a factory option in the IS300.
You can drive it in Forza 2 heheh

You're a lucky guy.. the previous owner did a great job on this. I believe he also swapped the tan interior for the black one which looks awesome

Just wrecked my gs4. Thinking of getting a is300 shell and swapping. I have a gte gs300 that make good power. But I have always been a 1uz fan. Plan to keep it stock.
I love this. I’ll be doing the same swap in my 2001 is300. The manual transmission will put more power to the wheels. Make sure you get the automatic transmission emulator.

Fun car. I 1uz swapped a 01 is300 years ago. Put a lot of miles on that car. Now I have a 1uz swapped ae86. It is a handful.
Love it, saw your post on Reddit. I haven't looked through the thread the original builder did yet but Im curious as to the exhaust manifolds they used and how much wiring was involved, as well as if the power steering lines will bolt up to the rack or if they were custom made.
I think if I do end up doing this, I'll end up going with the 300zx trans since you can get those even cheaper, and they're about as strong as the AR5/MA5

@@gabrielmarin4593 it was for me. I paid less than 300$ for it, but it was missing the clutch fork and shifter, but you can get those new from z1 motorsports and the shifter bracket you have to get a custom one anyway, and I was going to put a short shifter in it anyway

Hood lifts are amazing. I recommend them, and I have sc430 stock exhaust manifolds

Why does the trans have gs400 internals? Aren't all a650e trans the same?

Ar5 transmissions good? Will they work with the is300 rear end gears
Ar5 is great, I run it with 4.1 differential and it pulls nice off the line with stock 2jz. Gears are short with 4.1 so if you want longer gears find a 3.7 or customize a 3.5 differential
Did u you stock is300 motor mounts?
Quantum Auto makes motor mounts for the 1UZ/3UZ for the IS300s, that you could use.
Does the E Shift still work??

I'm in the East Coast, has no issues with OBD2 Emissions. A 3UZ will pass California inspections if swapped correctly.
How much WHP does it make ??
I'd say around 270 WHP

Do you know who did the actual swap? I have an 02 IS300 with stock manual and I want to do the same swap with some minor power adds like cams.
Also, do you have to pass smog or a plug in inspection in your area? I'm curious how that will work, I'm in Austin, TX and they plug into your ECU and make sure no codes are being thrown and the emissions system is working.
Yeah I know who did it but I don’t have any contact with them. Still on the hunt, it passes emissions fine though. I would recommend doing 3uz over 1uz
