I feel like this is the song every guy doesn't want to admit he can relate to. Serious balls to put this into a song and put it into the world. Props.
I found this song when i still had her, i never knew how important it would be to me one day.
Dawes needs to do an acoustic album.
Three voices and a GIBSON guitar...there we go !!!
Nothing sounds like an old Gibson.
I just heard these guys on XM - rarely does a new band make me stop, shush the kiddos in the car and just .... listen. This did.
I miss Middle Brother.
this is gold, give us more.
Saw these guys support Mumford and Sons in Torquay and they were absolutely epic. A wonderful four piece. They brought a wonderful piece of LA to South Devon for one night. Thank you.
Great singers actually sing with little effort. Notice how little he has to "try" with his voice, for lack of a better term. It's difficult to describe but he's a perfect example
amazing sound. Great lyrics. What else could you want. Great band
That song is great. It's wonderful. That's a shame The Brazil don't know this band.
Brazil loves this band.
When it hits me that she's gone
I think I'll run for president
Get my face put on the million dollar bill
So when these rich men that she wants
Show her ways they can take care of her
I'll have found a way to be there with her still.
When it hits me that she's gone
I think I'll be an astronaut
Make the moon my home and leave the earth behind
So when she steps out into the night
And finds the light that makes her prettiest
She'll be facing me every time she shines.
When it hits me that she's left me alone
When I finally move on with my life
Her goodbye written into stone
And her shadow grown into a night--
When it hits me that she's gone
I think I'll be a movie star
Play the finest men the world has ever seen
So when all of these lovers that she's found
Show her ways they learned to talk to her
Behind each perfect word, there will be a little bit of me.
Rul nice
Liveandbreathing If only other people could or would see it that way. Thank you for not being a jerk.
Very nice,that Gibson sounds gorgeous.
All time favorite 😍
Is there anything more painful than Losing the woman you love?
I think I am 100 of the 611 views.
Thanks, Uma Shankar💜
must be his favourite shirt it has a rip in the shoulder
I saw these guys around 2010 & told them they reminded me of Poco, a band from So Cal. I told them I thought they would go far. Looks like I was right. They were in Little Rock w Chris Denny, another one worth checking out.
Yeah! Poco! Haven't heard that name in a lot of minutes.
Well said
Love his voice Taylor
beautiful lyrics!
great song!
I love it
so fucking good
Good song. I don't know if I'm weird or something but this reminds me of yawning and now I can't stop. Good stuff though.
son muy buenos
I miss that piano man
You said yourself it's your opinion, which can be neither right or wrong.
I keep coming back to this, does anyone know if it on a cd as cannot find it anywhere
It's on their album titled "Nothing Is Wrong". Although it's full band, it's a great song nonetheless. It's also on Taylor Goldsmith's side project, Middle Brother with members of Deer Tick and Delta Spirit. Their album is self titled.
anyone know what Pencil Condenser mic is/was used on his guitar?
I'm not 100%, but looks like a Neumann KM184 - www.neumann.com/?lang=en&id=current_microphones&cid=km180_description
What sort of hat is he wearing?
Billy Grimes I'm a fairly intelligent person but I'm not understanding the meaning of your comment.
Just wanted to let everyone know that this is a cover, the song is by middle brother
He wrote this song while in Middle Brother.
spencer k The people you see singing _are_ Middle Brother
+Ben Whittington No, Middle Brother is comprised of the three frontmen from Dawes, Deer Tick & Delta Spirt. This is just 3/4 of Dawes. Andrew is correct though that this was written by Dawes and first used on the Middle Brother album with the other members of Middle Brother singing two of the three verse sections. Amazing song.
Ben Whittington Lol no they’re not XD
that guy in the jean jacket. The pianist that is no longer in the band
ok
*You're
The drummer has the worst case of weed eyes I have ever seen.
That guy on the left has seriously long legs. 😁
that's Tay Strathairn, he used to be the piano player for Dawes
Phillip does a cover of this song, and while Dawes sound amazing Phillip Twitchell sounds better. If anyone has heard of Phillip Twitchell then you know I'm right! So don't be haters to me for my opinion!
Your not right if it's an opinion. LOL
When bands these days can't think of a chorus it always turns into: ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...oooooooooooo.. Plus someone should tell Garfunkle's kid to take his goddamn hands out of his pockets during video recordings.
Go to bed Dad! You're drunk!
