Great video. A few years back I started selling Foozy socks, these are mostly silly socks, but they also have their own branded compression socks. After operating a few booths I noticed that my legs were hurting and swelling so I tried the compression socks. The first pair I put on was about two hours (we were open from 8:00 AM till 10:00 PM) after opening one day and my legs were already hurting. Within the first half hour my legs were already starting to feel better, and the rest of the day my legs felt great. After that I swear by compression socks, and the Foozy brand socks are, as far as my customers have told me, the easiest compression socks to put on and take off. Just thought I'd share, have an awesome day.
Thank you so much for the great information. I used compression socks today for the first time and I did feel some relief. Your explanation is very thorough. Thanks again!!!
Thank you for this valuable information about compression socks. I have venous insufficiency and wear compression socks. This video explains why I should wear them. Kindness, Teresa
I had a blood clot in July 2013. I was only 47 then. Glad I survived. Traveled down my left leg. The worst pain ever! A zippered pair of comp stockings only $8 on eBay. Doing fine nowadays. Thanks for being a nurse from a stranger. 😂
I hope you don’t suffer Post Thrombotic Syndrome in later life. A DVT damages the veins and sometimes this is not visible from the outside. You may suffer invisible varicose veins. If you wear compression you need to ensure it is the correct size for your legs. Flight socks are fruitless.
@@thesunnyedge This is my second whole day of wearing them. I had no idea I would feel so much relief. Everything feels better even my back. I'm stunned.

Hi got my answer a few minutes ago. It is ok to wear them to reduce the swelling. I will be meeting with the Dr. tomorrow to review the X-Ray on the knee.
@@thesunnyedge Hi I wore them today for about 4 hours. My leg had a strange shape after taking it off under the knee. It then straighten itself out within the hour. Theres a bit of difference in the leg but the foot has most of the swelling gone. The ankle is still swollen. I also have the Ankle compression short socks that you wear at night time for those like me that have plantar fascitis. I wore them first to see if they would work and they too took the swelling out of the foot. I wanted to make sure it was long enough after surgery to be safe. Rick
I was a very fit, slim, non smoking 36 year old runner yet still developed a freak blood clot in my left leg. I had every test under the sun and no doctor can pin point why I got this clot. The only risk factor was the contraceptive pill.
What about for neuropathy, not caused by diabetes, not relieved much by Gabapentin. Causing severe depression and hopelessness for my spouse. I am researching reviews and the "best kind" but wondered what you thought. Thanks, JScott
Thigh high compression socks are especially beneficial for people who have or are prone to swelling in or above the knee. They can also help with varicose vein symptoms above the knee. For someone without these issues, the knee highs are likely sufficient. Hope that helps! Thank for for watching. 💕
Hi! I was wondering if the type of pants you wear with compression socks matters? I would assume if the socks are squeezing your legs it wouldn't be wise to wear something like skinny jeans? I work in retail and have to be on my feet 8 - 9 hours a day and I definitely feel the heaviness in my feet after a shift, so I am looking into compression socks :) Thank you for the informative video!
Ohhh that’s a long time on your feet. You would probably really feel a positive difference after a shift if you wore compression socks. I haven’t tried jeans over compression socks but that may be too constrictive for comfort. A looser straight leg or flowy pant leg would probably be the most comfortable.
@@thesunnyedge it definitely is a long time! Thank you so much for your advice though, I tried some out for the first time last week and they made my feet feel so much better! 🥰
Yes, they basically work the same as far as compression goes. The differences are primarily in the design and sometimes material. Compression stockings come in knee-high length, thigh-high, open-toe design and sometimes made of hosiery material. Compression socks come in ankle or knee-high length with a closed-toe design.
Hello i have pinch nerve and it is causing much discomfort in mylegs especially the left leg. Spasms and numbness. I am using meds for the pains but not much relief. Just wondering if ìcan use those socks to get some relief. Thank you.
I have swollen feet, especially on the left, most likely due to high blood pressure and the amlodipine I take for that. Would these be helpful/safe for me?
Reasonably a helpful video indeed, thanks! It's actually impossible not to think about Mabel Ridenbel's technique after watching it. Just perform a quick investigation and you'll see what I mean. Having fresh, clean, pain free legs..., it's another thing.
Hi, would it be safe to wear a compression stocking on one leg for a few hours that had a total knee replacement 6 weeks ago to help get the swelling down? I asked my physiotherapist and he was not sure.
@@thesunnyedge Thanks for getting back to me. I will be seeing him on Wed when I get my X-ray to have a look at the knee. Will let you know if I don't forget.
Kavita C. Nagessar people with artery disease or skin infections of the legs shouldn’t wear them. Anyone with medical conditions or any concerns about using compression socks should consult their doctor first.
So do you wear the socks 100% of the time during shifts or only after a certain number of hours? Do you use them after a shift for “recovery”? I work in a warehouse 10 hrs, walking 10 miles per day and my legs & feet are very swollen and tired at the end of the day. Just trying to figure out if I should put them on first thing in the morning, after lunch break, or after the shift? Thank you!
Great question! I put mine on before a 12-hr shift, wear them all day, and take them off once I’m back home. Wearing compression socks for recovery is more for after intense exercise. Hope this helps! ❤️
