I was hitting some runs near Buena Vista, CO last summer and I can definitely relate to this suffering. We were staying in a cabin in the shadow of Mt. Harvard (approx. 8,000 ft.) and it SUCKED. The only way to get back to the cabin during a longer run was to hit a 1.5 mile long hill/gravel road that just didn't stop hurting because of the altitude. Ohio doesn't prepare you for that ish at all. On the bright side, once I got back home from that trip, 6:20 pace felt like 7:30 pace.
This is such a joke 😂 their idea of “suffering” is the opportunity to just drive up to mountain and do a workout and then go home and sleep it off. Learn to suffer by getting a full time job during all this and then try training at the same volume 😂 those 5 AM wake up calls are normal and most of us don’t get to go home and take a nap afterward, it’s a quick shower and breakfast then off to work for 8-10 hours. Rinse and repeat. This doesn’t motivate me at all. We’re watching people, who’s job is to run, go for a run.
