Reading the Crownfall Comic
My hero guides are mainly for people learning how to play Dota or for those who want to learn how to play a new hero. I aim to teach people the general concept of how the hero should be played and what makes it unique. I'm a Divine player around 5k and don't claim to be the best at Dota, but I do have enough knowledge and experience to help you learn the basics.

I do care abt dota2 lore. I spend time reading the lore of each character. If items have lore, i read them too. It’s nice imagining the bigger picture based on each hero’s lore.
I'm just really not a lore guy but I do understand some people like it.
Lore is great i love it! But this weird teasing after this long of a wait is just annoying nothing else. Loregasm by slacks is pure chefs kiss NGL

@@Docwell i understand, but i've been playing dota since warcraft days so sometimes i get bored playing the game itself prolly due to lose streaks or sometimes just purely boredom. I appreciate lore because it's like attention to detail. I like how we could try connecting things within the game. Adds more depth and dimension to it. But yeah, each to his own.
When Dota eventually dies. People will miss the content and cry about it. The community is very ungrateful.
Reddit may miss the content. But yes, I am not appreciative of them wasting what little time or effort they give to this game on mediocre lore comics.
It'd be a cool extra if Valve cared about the game in any real way. Instead, they essentially steal millions of dollars from the pro scene and give bottom of the barrel low effort patches that negatively impact the strategic integrity of the game.

Lore is good for the reference from different items, we need more of these.
I don't mind it, I'm kind of just baiting, but I'm also not that interested in lore.

I like the cinimatics they release, i saw the hoodwink cinematic vs arc warden and made me fall in love with hoodwink lol. “Hey space face Crack this!”
Oh yeah, I have no problem with cinematics. A lot of them are great.
So for me, the lore of the Dota 2 cast and the life and personality that all the character seem to have is a huge part of what’s kept me invested in the game for almost ten years. I personally love that Valve goes through all the effort to add lore, interactive voice lines, etc. to the game.
That being said, in an instance like this, where the lore seems to be overshadowing or delaying the core gameplay, I start to take issue with it. Still though, I have to question the overreaction from some to Crownfall. Like, is the meta we have *really* that bad or stale that we need a big update right away?
The meta’s shifted a lot since 7.34d dropped, and people are still figuring a lot of strategies and heroes out. It doesn’t feel that stale to me yet.
Such a shame though, Queen Imperia can't be a hero in Dota since Veng's arcana style 3 is the Queen itself.

It was nice to reaed through, it's just that I was expecting Crownfall to drop today or yesterday, and this comic alone just feels so little...
I figured they would drop it today so most of this was just bait, but turns out they didn't even drop a real patch with Crownfall lol. No hero and no gameplay...cool lol.

The Dota lore is indeed vast and complex, however the lore of the anime has no continuity with the lore of the game. I rather enjoy the detailed lore, though a patch soon would be nice.
Edit: I noticed when watching that you dislike the writing, possibly because of your distaste for the lore overall. I think the writing is completely fine, it dosn't seem off at all. As for Scree'auk, she is a goddess who has been known in the lore for a while, with there being voicelines from venge and skywrath referencing her, but it seems this comic is just an exposition of the relationship between the three.
I've seen some of the Slacks videos about the lore. It is kind of crazy how much there is for a game that doesn't focus on it very much.
@@Docwell Valve does that for all their games, TF2 has insane lore, but of course you see none of that in game.

It's really not that bad, but it is disappointing there's no gameplay patch.
Valve policy was known for a decade already.
They only do and invest into things they are currently interested in.
Obviously, DotA lore is rather interesting subject, but not that interesting for the devs themselves. That's why its so scarce and not systemized.
Considering loregasm is literally the best dota content out there apart from TrueSight, yes people cares about the lore

Yeah I saw everyone liking it on reddit, but now that there isn't a gameplay update I wonder if the popular view will change.

You are correct, I can only read through tts. To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand this comic. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical reader's head.
