My husband and I were both widowed when we met. Some months after we had been married, I begged him to watch this movie with me, “but please hold my hand the whole way through because it is supposed to be really scary.” And he did. When the film ended, he was sobbing and told me about when his first wife died of cancer, he and his daughters had gone through his wife’s desk and cleaned it out. But months later, he happened to look in a drawer again, and inside were three letters from his late wife, one to him, and one to each daughter, encouraging each of them to go on with life. To my husband she had written, “I hope you find a special friend to spend the rest of your life with.” He couldn’t explain either how they had managed to overlook the letters the first time or how the letters suddenly appeared afterward. But he felt so blessed by her words, and about a year after that, he and I met. We are terribly happy together and I feel a sort of blessing over us from her.
My husband was playing basketball with his friends and mid shot he dropped dead of a widow maker heart attack on the court. He was 43. That was almost 11 years ago. Ive always wondered if he knew he was dead. They tried for 45 minutes to get him back but he was gone. There are no words to express how much I miss him 😢 wherever you are my Love, i miss you
😢 Reading this in a cold late January night, I am so sorry. I do not know who you are but I am thinking about him and you and the loss. Pain connects us all. 😓
He knows
@PoliticalRegality thank you so much for your compassion and empathy it's very comforting from another human soul
They say time heals, but for me it's just getting harder. I am lost without him 💔 😢 there are some comforts. I could walk to the place he rests. I can see it from our house. this is a great comfort. Knowing he is near. Knowing he likely didn't suffer pain. A widow maker is fast they tell me. I believe he knew I love him.
@@br4524I had a 90% block in my LAD that they only caught during a catheterization after I kept telling the doctors something's was wrong despite a clean stress test. They told me I was as close to having a fatal heart attack without actually having one as you could get. I often wonder what might have happened had I just kept my mouth shut. Sometimes you know, sometimes you don't.
Your husband is still with you. Talk to him as if he is in the same room because he probably is. Pay attention to your dreams too. They communicate in dreams.
I now have a terminal illness and don't have too long. I've made my peace because I believe the soul survives physical death. I hope you attain some level of peace. Know that he watches over you and you will be together again.
I have goosebumps watching Willis in this film. Knowing the sickness he is experiencing now in real life is surreal.
Same here! We have loved watching Bruce all these years and now he's sick!! I feel a great loss now and can't tell Mr. Willis how grateful we feel to have been blessed by his talent all these years!!! We are praying for him and his family daily now! 🌹
Each time I watch this movie and this particular scene in the car with Toni Collette and Haley Joel Osment, I always cry.
Me too. I get chills
Yes. That part tears me up. I lost my mother, and I always hope that I make her proud with my life. SMH I'm tearing up now. 😂
Absolutely !!
Toni Collette (with HJO) just breaks me with the bumblebee pin & in the scene about her M … “Every single day.”
One of the most BEAUTIFUL films ever made…This is a masterpiece…❤
Totally agree. From a scary horror film to transforming into a very lovely and tragic human story & journey. Beautiful and sad love story and yet hopeful.
Donnie, Toni, Bruce, Haley were phenomenal in this movie. All of them! What great actors! M. Knight Shyamalan is a talented director. Please continue making more movies, Mr. Shyamalan! You are awesome!
Wouldn't have been the block buster it was if not for this exact collection of talented. 🥰🥰😍😍
I am a Bruce Willis fan.
This is EASILY my favorite Bruce Willis performance!!! He has MANY great performances but Sixth Sense BLEW MY MIND!!
Many great performances in this
AWESOME story!!!
Donnie sets the tone of that entire film. Without him disturbing you to the core in the opening sequence… everything following it just doesn’t feel as eerie.
So true. Great comment
The opening of this video, with M Night S talking about writing "garbage", and tossing it out, reminded me of my high school art teacher, Mr. Clercx. He taught watercolor, and would tell us to just start painting, painting, and painting, that the first ones are all going to be over-thought garbage that's been done before, but to just keep painting and tossing, until you got all of the pre-conceived, derivative stuff out your system.
Because after that was when the REAL good stuff could finally show up in your work and it starts to get interesting...
That 5 mins Donnie brought Vincent to life was too vitally important. Can't visualize it w/o Him 💯
1 of the greatest & effective plot twist I've ever watched in cinema.
Toni Colette was fantastic. I cried with her in the last scene with Cole and the bicyclist.
There was someone who wasn't fantastic in this movie?
Yes. I thought she was particularly amazing in the watermelon scene. Superb.
Loved that scene, absolutely brilliant
This scene really hit hard with me because I ask my Mom the same thing. She passed when I was 10
Me too. I hate crying in movies and I was still fighting it back from Bruce leaving Cole, so when he started w/his mom, I was a double mess.
Haley was absolutely amazing in this movie. Everytime I watch him in this movie I'm just amazed
I had no idea that was Donnie wahlberg…. Wow…. Such a great movie
Me either
It was in the credits
Ikr? I didn't know for YEARS.
A few years after the movie had come + gone, someone mentioned Donnie Wahlberg being so good in it for such a small part + I was surprised that I didn’t remb him in the movie at all.
When they said he was the thin guy who shot Bruce Willis I didn’t accept it. I had to go back + watch it to believe it. I had NO idea that poor naked messed up rail of a guy was the cute buffy bulky Donnie Wahlberg.
Donnie, you nailed that scene like no one has ever nailed a scene. Made the entire movie. Perfect action.
I was Shocked when I learned that was Donnie! ")
@@lindacristhopher2410 same!
The fact that I don't remember most of those actors and actresses being in this movie tells me I need to go back and watch this movie again as I loved it originally and have saved it for a later time
SIGNS AND SIXTH SENSE ARE IN MY TOP TEN MOVIES!!!!❤❤❤👍👍👍
I waited 10 years for you, I’m not giving you nothin. One of the best line deliveries of all time. And Donnie improved it.
I loved it. It was intelligently written, it portrayed realistic ( 3 dimensional) human beings in their entirety… It was more simply put ; very engrossing from beginning to end, SO INTRIGUING and unpredictable that I was thoroughly entertained. Usually, I can see what’s coming, so tired of formula movies. This story was SO REFRESHING…. 💝♾
Father said that to the evil wife? Dont recall.
Holy cow, Donnie did it in one take?!!
@@brendabouma1227 I had no clue that was Donny Warburg. Talk about method acting. He blew me away. Well done Donny!
Donnie Wahlberg was freaking great and only one take!
One of my favorite movies of all time. I can not believe I didn't know that was Donnie Wahlberg who played Vincent. He was unrecognizable to me. I've always known him to be an incredible actor, but he knocked this one out of the park. M. Night Shyamalan is a brilliant Director. This whole cast and story was fantastic. There is rarely a movie that I can't figure out the plot, etc. He definitely got me with the ending. :)
Ditto re Danny
Thinking about Bruce's situation right now, decided to revisit this impactful film, then look up any UA-cam videos that reflected this film. I am even more impressed with his ability to absorb the characters (including other roles he's played). This is still an outstanding film with phenomenal performances
I'm ready to watch this movie again with all the insight that's been offered. I truly had no idea that Vincent was Donny Wahlberg. Didn't even look like himself and who knew what a fantastic actor he turned out to be.
Ys, he really lost a lot of weight for the part.
Oh yeah!!
Same here!!
I JUST found this out!!
I was like WHAT!!!!!
why doesn't donnie actually use ghis boston accent in the interview?
He did NOT play his typical role in this. Everytime I see him on screen, I know it's him until this movie. He seriously needs to be come back to acting.
That kiddo should have won an oscar!
Agreed! But having him in the supporting role instead of leading made no sense to me. I know the movie companies do that sometimes in order to improve the chances of their actor/actress to win, but Haley was in this entire movie. And if you look back, I think they felt Spacey was a shoo-in, but other than Spacey, it was a weak year for Leading Actor. Regardless, he should have won over Michael Caine.
Donnie Wahlberg seen scared the hell out of me I didn't even know he was a Wahlberg but let me tell you that scene creeped me out something crazy
Perfect acting
Yeah I never wanted to watch that scene when I was younger lol. Now I love it.
@JustJaneOYVEY I've always been impressed with the talent of the Wahlberg brothers. I had no idea that was Donnie for many years 😳. He gave a masterful performance. I mean when you don't even SEE the actors that's masterful crafting
I just now saw this scene with Donnie. I love this movie being a psychologist. Donnie’s journey to do this scene is amazing! Thank you Donnie!
What?
They're talking about Donnie Wahlberg who lost 40 pounds and went through intense preparation to play Vincent, the former psych patient, in the first scene.
I was so surprised it was Donnie Wahlberg. I was watching Band of Brothers and reading bio for the cast and it says he was in the Sixth Sense and I thought, which was him so I checked it out and I was blown. This was the opening scene and it was so good! It set the mood for this classic movie! I never blinked each time watching this movie.
What an astonishingly bright child Haley Joel Osment was
Wahlberg put a lot into this wow he’s such an underrated actor and anyone who saw him in this role and as Lipton in band of brothers has a real appreciation for how hard he works at doing best possible job on every role he does he’s a BEAST
I feel sorry for anyone who knew Bruce was already dead as that is the beauty of the film and part of its classic Hitchcock feel.
I was today years old when I found out that was Donnie Wahlberg! If someone would have told me that was him, in the past, I would have second guessed it and looked it up! Just wow!
Haley was so young yet he has such emotional maturity. Wise beyond his years for sure.
I was so relieved that no one had spoiled the ending for me. I didn’t know for a long time that Donnie Walberg was Vincent. Such a shocking transformation. I love how the color red is a clue and how Night always makes an appearance. This one is my favorite!
Donnie so dedicated. 💜
Man I have to watch this again! It’s been a while. Got chills as if I’ve never heard of this movie before. And he’s right. No one gave the movie away. Bravo!
The cast was stellar especially Toni, Donnie, Haley and Bruce. Donnie did a fantastic job and I wish he did more acting roles in movies. No offense to his brother who falls short in the acting department sometimes but Donnie's acting is fantastic. One of the best movies ever.
Night I saw the Sixth Sense when it first came out and I was surprised by the end. ❤️
Thank you. As professional guess-the-ending viewer, I was astonished to be "got" by this movie.
Same! 😊
When I was a little kid, my mom took me to see this in theaters. I slept in my parents room on their floor for months afterwards. This traumatized me to my core. One of the best horror movies of all time. I’m still “chasing the dragon” and finding another horror movie that has such a profound effect on me.
I know exactly what you mean. I was six years old when I saw this movie in theaters with my mom, brother and sister. That fear, the idea that ghosts are all around me at any given moment has never really left me. Wasnt until I got a little older and had the courage to rewatch this masterpiece was I able to appreciate the layers of this film. I think Hereditary, which also stars Toni Collette, is a brilliant horror movie that will haunt you long after the ending credits
Probably wasn’t such a good idea to take a 6 yr old to see this type of movie.
Haley is absolutely so intelligent and intuitive way beyond his years. It just blows me away!!!
I'm a single mother with one son. I can relate to Toni Collette's character.❤❤❤❤
You Sir, are a Brilliant Screenwriter! Best Movie Ever!! Thank You!!!!
I'm glad Wahlberg was able to come back from going so deep into this role. That's a dark place to come back from
I loved this film when it first came out but I viewed it more as a scary movie. I am going to watch it again as I can see it was not scary but beautiful. The deleted scenes were amazing ❤️💙
I’ve only seen it once because I didn’t want to spoil my memory of “that” moment, but now I’m ready to watch it again to appreciate the extraordinariness of the writing, the acting, the editing etc.
does donnie wahlberg use boston accent in thehardcore movie and the feautrette or not reallly though?
I will watch and rewatch any movie by M. Night Shyamalan. All of his movies go deeper and richer than the obvious, which is often revealed at the end. They are experiences, not just movies.
I just started bawling! Not only was this movie so well done from the writing of the story to the characters bringing this all to life but also made me cry because of what we know Bruce Willis is suffering now. It is true tho. These movies will last forever.
Such a beautiful movie
Whoooaaa I never realized that was Donnie Wahlberg 🤯🤯🤯 phenominal.
I watched this movie I was 13 and only remembered Donnie Wahlberg as my early 90s childhood crush. I had a Donnie toy doll and everything. Was a shock to see his name in the credits.
Thank you for sharing the experience with us all. Willis, Wahlberg, Haley and all the talent and performances in this movie, and most amazingly, Shyamalan's writing, directing, and producing The Sixth Sense- I feel one of the truly unique and great movies of all time.
Donnie Walburg lost 25+ pounds...and hit a de Nero sized home run. I can't think of the movie without Vincent Grey. He becomes the burned bridge between Cole and Dr. Crowe.
Donnie Wahlberg actually lost 43 pounds for the role.
When I first saw this film, I never knew that was Donnie. He totally broke my heart!!
I have to admit, I did not know that Donnie Wahlberg was Vincent Grey! Shocking!
De Niro
Are you even freaking kidding? 😂 I had no clue that was Donnie Wahlberg.
Donnie Wahlberg was really amazing as Vincent in this movie.
Thank You for posting❤
Very generous to give us this.
Filmingmentary, You are a Gem💎
Fantastic film I didn't click all the way through that it made me love it even more.
Donnie Wahlberg is an incredible actor.
he's a really incredbile actor.
Master piece!
The music of this film is so stirring and emotional ❤️❤️
I had no clue that was Donnie Wahlberg. Damn fine acting.
Wow I didn’t even know that was Donnie Wahlburg in the movie it looked nothing like him at all
I didn’t know either
I must be an idiot because I didn't even know that was Donnie Walburg until today!! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Mr. Osment doesn’t look the same, but every time I see him, I hear that little boy’s voice: I see dead people.
This was a great video. The movie is one of a kind. Every aspect of it was phenomenal.
I wonder if he and Patrick Chan (of the Conjuring series) would come up with working in tandem? Probably something that would keep us all terrified for weeks, but also reach deep into our souls, poking at our deepest, most private fears and desires.
The Sixth Sense is 25 years old!
It did okay at the box office but the infamous twist had people coming back for more making $293 million domestically and $672 million worldwide
Haley Joel Osment got an Oscar nomination out of 6 total
Many claim that Bruce Willis is under acting but he has this very inward approach that works for this particular role plus this helped his career after so many slumps
This was M. Night Shyamalan's first major success into the mainstream and infamous for having one of the most memorable twists in cinema being very profound and audacious
Shyamalan has such a distinct style he brings to every one of his projects and it’s quite fascinating to see each time
So many of his signature tropes are recognized from the long shots to the extreme wide angle lens to the twist ending itself
There’s very good acting from Willis, Osment who knocks it out of the park, even Collette as this boys mother, quotable lines, the music by Howard Shore is effective being quite haunting but also touching, and the shots of Philadelphia are impressive with many of the statues involving human architecture staring out
There’s so many instances of the color red spread which adds some clever visual touches
There’s a need for communication and understanding so it’s not just seeing ghosts, the true horror is not being seen or heard or understood by those around us
Adults can still learn to listen to kids around for awareness, knowledge, and healing
It also says a lot about us prioritizing our work over our loved ones, being so wrapped up in the things we’re “supposed” to be doing
I watched this as a kid and even certain parts scared me a lot which works to its advantage remaining a staple of pop culture even being parodied in other media forms
A lot of character, scares, heart, and some doses of humor so whatever you think of Shyamalan’s career afterwards you have to admire his creative identity here
It’s a very human ghost story that doesn’t have to rely on expensive gory special effects to be effective
One of the best movies ever!
Great film, I lived this as a kid myself. I’m 65 now, and once in a while I still need to sleep with the lights on. I just told my siblings about what I had to live through.
Omg, this happened to you in real life? How did you get thru it? How are you now? If you dont mind me asking?
@@passion4posh I am a 65 year old retired Art teacher. I didn’t accept my psychic abilities until I was in my mid 40’s I have worked on missing person cases and a local murder cases since then. A lot of people think it might be “cool” to have these abilities. It caused me a lot of suffering when I was young and it made me feel isolated. Now I have accepted it and try to use it to help others. I’m writing my story. My working title is “Tales of a Reluctant Psychic”. ❤️
@@dreamcrone I am also a psychic but abilities didn't show themselves until I was in my twenties. I have experienced the wonderful and am experiencing the terrible but still maintain its a gift. Its just a shame in my case the dark side came along to ruin it for me. I would certainly read your book. Look forward to it. Would love to help others withy abilities but now plagued by demonic realm who are blocking me so I don't know of I will ever be able to do that.
@@dreamcrone I hope your family were supportive. Mine just think its an illness.
@@saraoconnor6169 I just told my sister and brother this year. I think my parents knew something was wrong with me. I never told them. The first time I brought a spirit home with me was after a sleepover in 6th grade for 3 days it was relentless. Every time I would sit down to relax with the family it would try to enter my body. I didn’t know how to protect myself so I would jump up and move to another chair. Eventually I left the house when they noticed I was acting strange and asked me what was wrong with me. After 3 days of torture and very little sleep I gathered all my internal willpower, stamped my foot and yelled no!!! It worked. The fear was always there put it gave me a bit of relief.
Wow…hearing about his writing process is incredible!
Fantastic! Thank you for the content.
I feel so lucky to have experienced this film in the theatre and with a packed audience. The film started with a gasp when Vincent appeared in the bathroom and ended with an even bigger gasp when Anna dropped the ring and we all realized the plot twist at the same time.
Willis had such a look of discernment and recognition throughout this movie. It’s sad to see that light flickering away. Great job in this movie by both.
The Sixth Sense is one of my favorite films, ever. can't really recall another movie that has so many amazing & wildly different elements that meld together so perfectly. It's heartwarming & heartbreaking and terrifying & comforting, so wonderfully-acted by legit EVERY SINGLE ACTOR. Can't believe I never knew really anything about the BTS details considering how much I obsessively seek out that kinda stuff. Loved finding this featurette & now i'm gonna continue watching people react to this film for the first time on youtube lol. Am I beyond dumb for believing that so many of these people didn't know about the big twist? I know I was spoiled because I'm a baby b*tch & didn't watch this film until I was basically an adult but I was still shook because it left my brain while I watched. Damn, sorry for this long ass fuck essay of a comment, got too amped.
I never knew that was Wahlberg. He transformed himself into that part
Toni you played it perfectly. It doesn't matter how old your kids get you still feel their pain.
I feel this film so much more now than I did when I first saw it as I can relate my own experiences with the spirit realm to Hayley Joel Osments and Donnie Whalbergs character. Although my abilities didn't show themselves to me until I was older, I have experienced the good and the bad side of having the gift. Sadly I don't have an open minded shrink or parents. They just think it's an illness. So, I can relate to having to deal with so called well meaning people who are just not seeing the big picture and the burden of experiencing stuff and having to keep it largely to myself. This film is legendary with some superb acting. Should have won best film at the Oscars in my opinion.
They call this mental illness and they rather not know but I understand you.
Of course it's mental illness. Sixth Sense was a m-o-v-i-e....
@@davidsmock8235Let me tell u. In my mid 20's I started having demonic attacks. And they continued up until recently..... What I saw was 100% real. I had dreams about things. And those things happen ALMOST EXACTLY LIKE MY DREAMS for real. Unless u experience it don't just call it mental illness my friend. Sone are on a different spiritual plane than others..
My best horror movie experience in a theater. It premiered on a Friday the 13th during a terrible thunderstorm and the theater was packed tickets sold out. Great experience! Had a lot fun.
Stellar......This is Perfection .....
I'll have to watch this again. Because I barely remember this scene.
Great Movie great cast! Bruce Willis and the boy phenomenal
All actors great job!!
This is my favorite movie of all
time. Shalimar, and all the actors nailed the realities of
coping with the supernatural
experiences of some children and the people around them who are unprepared to guide the children in understanding
what they are experiencing and
why they experience such things. I was a child who remembers experiencing spirit
communication since I was 5
years old. Coping with it was very difficult . Mostly I had to
rationalize the reality of it myself. As an adult I did seek
therapy and religion advice, but
found most who were counsellors of therapy or religion were unable to comprehend the truth of such
experiences. Luckily I did find
a few who did grasp the truth
and were willing to discuss it
with me as well as divulge their
own experiences. Validations of
Truths of Reality help us all to trust ourselves and others who
Deserve Trust . Also Validations
help us to more easily Discern
Falseness in life's realities that
some people want to control
others with . Life is better because of truths being validated by evidence we each
Know of our own experiences .
Namaste. Carpe Diem.
Watched this movie so many times and never realized that was Donnie Freaking Wahlberg. Actually watching Scariest people with him as the host. This movie was amazing and one of my many favorites.
12-27-24 the very first time I watched this movie , no matter who I talked to about this movie we all said we could not believe the ending. It was so so we just could not believe it. Best movie ever. I know I watched it over and over.
This was a great movie! I remember talking with my cousin about it when it came out because she was Mr. Willis's PA when they were filming it.
Donnie is fantastic in "Dreamcatcher" too
Bruce Willis was in
The best action movie(Die Hard).
The best horror movie (Sixth Sense)
The best sci-fi movie(Fifth element)
The best buddy cop movie(Last Boy Scout)
The best jungle movie(Tears of the Sun)
The best TV series (Moonlighting)
The best Comedy movie(Death Becomes Her)
And some low foreheads still believe that he can't act.
You forgot Pulp Fiction!
I had absolutely no idea Donnie W was Vincent in this movie! I've always loved Sixth Sense. I understand now that every person in this movie and the writer/ director were perfection. H.J.O. broke my heart.
Amazing movie.the Funeral situation was jaw dropping Creepy
What do Sixth Sense, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and the Silence of the Lambs have in common? The cinematography was done by Tak Fujimoto!
O.M.G. Such a great, GREAT movie and experience and (maybe the greatest) psychological thriller of all time!! Donnie Walberg FRICKIN' KILLED this roll!! When paired with Haley Joel Osment, Bruce Willis, Toni Collette, Olivia Williams and the rest of this extraordinary cast, you just can't one-up this movie! OhhhhMG!! I don't want to think that M Night Shyamalan peaked too soon but seriously, how do you top this movie - ever! Seriously, no one with a heart can ever top the emotion or the SERIOUS jump-scare type of realization that you get when you see the whole story. Ahhhh, thank you M Night and cast. I've never experienced this kind of sensation since this story and doubt that I ever will again. ❤❤❤
I can relate to Vincent. Not as severe maybe, but still relatable. There is 'fear' and then there is 'terror'. It's a matter of degree. Vincent had suffered it all. Cole maybe fear and maybe grief, but not terror.
Donnie is just amazing. 😍
Love all of M. Shyamalan movies.
Masterpiece . Bruce and Haley were spectacular .
I saw the movie " The Six Sence " after my brother died. It helped me understand a lot about death. It also got me interested in the paranormal. Especially psychic mediums . Like Cole and Vincent in the movie. Love this movie. Everyone did a great job. Thank you M. Night for writing and directing this awesome movie.
I'm warning you to stay away from that stuff. What we perceive as spirits or ghosts are demons. Satan is very good at impersonation and manipulation. We are appointed once to die, and after this the Judgment. Please repent of your sins and place your full trust in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation.
What a convoluted and totally powerful movie
♥️ the cast, such a wonderful movie 🍿
All these years and I had NO idead Donnie Wahlberg was "Vincent ". None!! Whoa....Great movie. Now i want to watch it again
This is all so interesting. Great movie.
Remember seeing this in the cinema. Eventho the twist was spoiled for me. It was still an amazing movie & i enjoyed every second of it
That was great advice you gave the kid. He really shone in that role. I found him soooo believable. That's where the magic is.
I never ever knew for a minute that guy in the bathroom half naked man was Donny Walberg 😳 I didn't recognize him at all...wow! Fantastic acting to all in this movie. 🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
So sweet Bruce to love and protect his family.
M. Night Shyamalan is my favorite movie writer/producer. His movies are unmatched. They make you think, but what you think is All Wrong.
So cool and beautiful and sad and tiring, but made so aware. I love this movie and I try to watch it whenever it comes on❣💗💞🤗 Bring another❣
