Recipe:
4-6 large pickles
¾ cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
½ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups panko
1 tablespoon herbes de provence
Ranch Dip:
⅔ cups mayo
⅔ cups sour cream
½ cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon chives
1 tablespoon dill
1 tablespoon parsley
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1. Slice the pickles lengthwise in half, then half again to get 4 pieces.
2. Pat the pickles with a paper towel until they are as dry as you can get them.
3. In a bowl add the flour, egg, buttermilk, smoked paprika, salt and pepper. Mix until you get a smooth mixture.
4. In a separate bowl add the panko and herbes de provence. Mix until combined.
5. Working with one at a time, take one pickle and dip it into the wet batter, let the excess batter drip off then add it to the bowl of panko. Make sure the panko has covered all sides. Add to a clean plate and continue with all pickles.
6. Spray the air fryer basket with oil and place the breaded pickles in one single layer. Spray the top with oil.
7. Set the air fryer to 400°F for 10 minutes. Half way through cooking, flip the pickles and continue cooking until golden brown on all sides.
8. To make the ranch dip, add all the ingredients into a bowl and mix until combined. Serve with the fried pickles.
