    Hi Sandy, quick question
    How many steps can the server make before contacting the ball when serving. Ive read about " not running or walking etc" but can't find a definitive rule
    Can you clarify this point please

    Hi @ThePadelSchool ! This was very informative video! Thank you for that🙏🏻 Can you tell me one more rule for me please.
    If the serve is made otherwise correctly but it hits the net, you get new first serve. What happened after that if you serve again correctly with net touch?
    Or in case the first serve is not good at all and the second serve goes correctly, but with net touch, you get again new second serve, but what if you hit the net again?
    Thank you already for the answer 🙏🏻

    When is a bounce (specially on serve) considered to be on the glass and on the side fence? There is normally a metal "pole" right at the edge of the glass - is this considered valid or is that fence?

    I've been struggling with whether to hit it hard/or soft. because sometimes in my games I receive a powerful ball and I hit it back to their glass. like is there a technique on how to hit it? (note: I am only talking when you are playing close to the net).

    Hi. We are having a discussion concerning the position of the receiver of the serve.
    Some of us mean that te receiver also has to stand behind the service line. A few even mean the receiver has to stand behind the service line until the ball has bounced in the service box. Others mean that the receiver can stand where he wants or at least can enter the service box after the serve has been hit…
    What is the correct rule?

    • @lemattheuz

      Correct rule is that only the server has to stand in his serving box, the other 3, his partner and his opponents can stay whereever they wants as long as they are on their side of the court.

  • @steinhalvorsen_

    Could someone please help confirm whether or not I understood this correctly? At 1:53 it sounds like when an opponent hits a ball that has a trajectory towards the back glass (without a bounce first), it's out, whether you volley it or not. Yes? Wouldn't this be hard to judge when hitting hard volleys at the net - whether or not it would actually hit the glass or not if it wasn't volleyed? Or is it perhaps only when receiving players volley behind the service line or something?

    • @ThePadelSchool
      @ThePadelSchool  7 місяців тому

      Hi Stein! I think there’s a form of misunderstanding involved here. A ball can’t be called in/out just based off of it’s trajectory. The ball has to hit the fence/glass directly for it to be called out. Depended on if you learn to read the ball trajectory and react accordingly, you can then know wether to volley a ball (even before it has bounced) or leave it and let the opponents ball/shot hit the fence/glass directly and therefore you win the point. And yes, it’s much easier to learn which balls to leave and which ones to volley, the further back you are on court. Hope that helps!

    Is a net first service repeated or considered like faults?
    Note, Padel Regulations 2021 do not tell us how to deal with Net First Service. It states that Let first services is repeated, and, Let/Net second services repeated.
    9.2.b "If there is a “let” on the first serve, it should be the complete point repeted"

    I Have a question about serving via the net. When you serve and the ball touches the net cord and then bounces on the service court, is that already a let serve? And what about a serve that touches the net cord, then bounces on the service court and then (before the second bounce) hits the fence. Is that also a let serve? Or does the ball have to bounce twice on the service court or hit the glass after the first bounce to be a let serve? I noticed that not everybody is interpreting this rule the same way.

    • @Mollelarsson
      @Mollelarsson 2 роки тому +5

      It is not automatically a let if the ball bounces inside the service box after hitting the net. It is as you explained with your second example, the ball needs to; 1: hit the ground inside the proper serve area & 2: then either hit the ground again or the glass panel. Only then is it considered a let. If it doesn't bounce inside the serve area, or the second bounce hits the fence, then it's considered out, and you only have the 2nd serve left.

    Is there a rule that either the server, or opposing team should switch sides after a point? My mates do it but i cant find the rule and pro’s dont seem to be doing it

      Yes, this is stated in rule #5 - change of ends. Although this is rarely used at recreational level.

      @@ThePadelSchool The opposing team ? I was watching matches and doing extensive research. I concluded that only the server needs to start on the right and keep switching, the rest of the players could stand where they want, true ?

      @@ThePadelSchool Ah thanks for pointing out the exact rule! I see now. Changing ends mean both teams switch sides.
      What i meant was that the server and his partner or opposing team should change their position on their side of the net. That’s not the case in rule #5 i see

      @@RifetOkic Ah, I see! Then you should have a look at rule #8 - return of serve. Hope that one clarifies.

      @@ThePadelSchool Ok it’s mildy confusing. I found this description of rule #8
      “b) The receiving players in first game of each set will decide who will be the first to receive; this player will continue receiving the first service of each game until the end of the set.
      Each player will receive serve alternatively during the game and once the order has been decided it may not be altered during that set or tie-break but may at the beginning of a new set.”
      Which one is it? The receiving player ONLY receives the first serve each set, or do they keep alternating who receives?
      When i see pro-matches the receivers don’t stay in their corner?
      I assume the receiver takes the serve only in the first game of a set, then in the next set, his or her partner will receive only the first serve… correct ?

    Is there rules on how many times the ball can bounce on the glass wall before you need to hit it?

      No, but personally I haven't seen a ball rebound of the glass more than twice and after that you'll need to hit the ball.
