@@BreuckelensFinest Naw not necessarily so! We had a couple of stations (K-ACE & K-JLH) in Los Angeles back in the late 70's and throughout the 80's that played alot of obscure tracks/records. Even though the record labels would send them the music with instructions on what they figured should be the first single or hottest song. Thank God the dj's had the wherewithal to listen to the entire project and play what they thought was hot along with the suggestion of the label. In 2021 I sure as hell hate that the dj's of today only play per what the programming managers insist that they play. I strongly believe that it is the latest updated version of "PAYOLA" (pay for what to play) on steroids. For the most part the only thing you hear on regular radio in Atlanta are Atlanta based artist and it's been that way for my close to 30 years living here. There is basically no variety of music being played here despite the fact that BRAND NEW music is released every Tuesday in this country. So I subscribed to XM satellite radio damned near 20 years ago and am quite content. The programming could be a bit better but it's a far cry from the bullchit radio stations here!!!!! Out
RIP "Chief Rocker" Frankie Crocker🙏🏽. I am so honored and privileged to have grown up listening to the "extended" master mix versions of these gems back in the day. Shout out to ALL of the DJs that know the importance of letting a song rock out in it's entirety. If you know, then you know.. 💎 ❤🎵
Yup!! That's where I heard it,actually was in a cassette that my brother had recorded on one if his many trips to N.Y. in the 80s. Man the song came right back to me today.
I first this while I was stationed in New Jersey in 1982. I heard it on NY radio station called 92 KTU The HOTT ONE! With Roscoe. I brought it back to Cali with me and bumped it and people went nutz for it. Back in the day before music went digital, music would hit east coast radio stations before they made it out west. Peace
I was 16 when this jam came out heard it all over Newark,NJ .When I have my 50 b-day it will be a 70's & 80's theme.Takes me to a special place in time

I-Level were ahead of their time. I was buying Promo 12-Inch records by artists I did not even know yet back in 1982 thru to 1990. This was one of the 12-Inch records I had. I wore this record out. The grooves in the vinyl turned white from the needle in the groove. This music is still amazing today in 2023. It has 412 Comments for a good reason. These Extended Versions were priceless.
This mixes perfectly with Sharon Reid Never gonna give you up, then Patrice Rushen Forget me nots, then Denroy Morgan I'll do anything.... Yup, I was 15yo when all this came out, still love it, at least they can sing!
