Just found your channel ! Like it, I did similar jump... 4 year ago, I left france for the Hudson Valley NY... because my job was making me crazy, my ex husband, too much people around, not enough air... I packed few box and my son and few weeks after I fly to US... I was not an English speaker (very poor English and remain not perfect). But right after few hours, I feeled the same freedom, no more pressure, the positive mood and be no one in middle of NYC remain the best feeling ever. Important is to always keep in mind than we are not tree, we can move and choose to do what make us happy and align with you and don't just follow others....
It was our idea to just plop a house down somewhere, too. But we did go ahead and buy land, which makes a difference. Not having to jump through building code hoops is well worth it. We were more interested in the mountains than the beach, which may make a difference in how unrestricted we are. It's more remote here. But we have the Atirro River a stone's throw away, with great swimming holes and swinging bridges and waterfalls... so far my list of things I wish I'd known before I came here is limited to pretty much one thing: that I should have come here sooner. Mine and Michel's experience has matched our expectations. It's just a good place to be. You nailed it about the freedom. I had no idea, either, how much freedom had already been taken from me in the States. It would be very, very hard for me to go back now, after tasting this life.
@@Chenzaloon we have one. I don't have much of a following yet, but I figure if I just keep posting content folks will catch on eventually. I spent two years in Costa Rica and in general, it's not a consumer culture like the USA or even Mexico. Import taxes are high. You might find Chinese stores with cheap stuff but a limited selection. Even cheap crap you might find in the USA is not cheap in CR. You'd be surprised what you can live without or buy second hand like Ticos.
You can find something similar to a Dollar Store at the Pequeño Mundo stores in the GAM (Greater Metropolitan Area which encompasses SAN JOSE, HEREDIA, ALAJUELA and CARTAGO) and also a lot of Dollar Store imitations are now popping up in GRECIA!

If so, can you use your phone as a hotspot or are you close enough to town? Reason I ask is because that house is my dream house too. Hi everyone.. there is a new law for foreigners in Costa Rica wich is that ..You can bring everything your car your furniture everything. coming into the county is tax free
Yes, it is just for residents and while it passed already, it is still awaiting posting in LA GACETA the official newspaper where it gets printed and then is officially the law. Expect that will happen by year end. Also the same with new DIGITAL NOMAD law, it passed and is awaiting posting in LA GACETA.
Bro where are you located? I'm near Parrita, also from Jersey, if you're ever in this area swing through, let's smoke a blunt or a few joints and i'll send you on your way with bags full of fresh fruit
Just paradise on earth brother you are so lucky shit coming from a guy living in a hood town patetson newjersey i see what you saying god bless brother
I will make a trip there next month and check out a few rentals near good internet for my online business. I plan to move in July. Now trying to figure out vaccination/covid restrictions and where is good to live with school for kids.
Well I got the scooter cheap, but it needed some help.. now that its working correctly, im super happy with it. I wanna get a car for longer trips but dirt bikes arent my style.. I know ill kill myself lol
That's all I plan on brining board shorts and sandals maybe a skateboard and skimboard but mostly just board shorts one backpack and a small tent u think the police will bother me if I camp out for a month? I'm poor so wherever I go I'm gonna have to catch fish to eat and trade for beer and ganja 😂 also does anyone rent rooms out cheap? Like 400 a month or less close to the beach?
Lots of hostels, camping is great but eventually its going to get old, you can catch and cook but I wouldnt base your trip on that lol def have a backup plan!
I agree start from scratch. Leave whatever energy or worldly thing in America. Just bring yourself and adjust

Like you, all I ever wanted was a little simple house right by the beach. Thought it was impossible. Damn, you found it. 👍
Apperently that house doesbt have electricity, I was going to rent it for a week, but no lights!? Ehh ill go camping.. Im on the west coast about 45 min south of dominical... Scooters are the cheapest transportation to buy here besides a bike 😎🌴❤️ thanks for subbing
@@jasonberner8614 not normally but thats where my dog was attacked, so I know they are there
Hi everyone.. there is a new law for foreigners in Costa Rica wich is that ..You can bring everything your car your furniture everything. coming into the county is tax free
Yes there is, but I think it's only if your coming and getting residency.. I could be wrong about that but I'll have to do some research
@@Chenzaloon You're right..is just for residency
Yes, it is just for residents and while it passed already, it is still awaiting posting in LA GACETA the official newspaper where it gets printed and then is officially the law. Expect that will happen by year end. Also the same with new DIGITAL NOMAD law, it passed and is awaiting posting in LA GACETA.
Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤
Wicked Chenzaloon keep it up.
Appreciated!
Hotels are near airport is it ok if I stay there near airport how will I go beach side places
If you stay up there, your living the city life
@@Chenzaloon so where I get hotel is better to see water falls volcano and beach side places

Dope brother, whats the boom bap on the first part of the video. Very much looking forward to visiting and perhaps not leaving. :)
Thanks for the positive outlook.
great video, but how does one make money in CR?
Online 😎
Starlink? At your dream house on the beach?
Lol too expensive
Are you happy with your Scooter? And would you have preferred a dirt bike but was just a lot more expensive?
Well I got the scooter cheap, but it needed some help.. now that its working correctly, im super happy with it. I wanna get a car for longer trips but dirt bikes arent my style.. I know ill kill myself lol
Dirt bikes are too noisy if you like nature it's a strange choice
where do you live in Costa Rica.
The tip of the OSA 🌴
That's all I plan on brining board shorts and sandals maybe a skateboard and skimboard but mostly just board shorts one backpack and a small tent u think the police will bother me if I camp out for a month? I'm poor so wherever I go I'm gonna have to catch fish to eat and trade for beer and ganja 😂 also does anyone rent rooms out cheap? Like 400 a month or less close to the beach?
Lots of hostels, camping is great but eventually its going to get old, you can catch and cook but I wouldnt base your trip on that lol def have a backup plan!
