This is SUCH a cute bag, and it's a great tutorial right up to the part where you start using glue. And the glue is on all of the parts that matter for stability, especially in a bag this size. You have such GREAT designs, it's unfortunate you don't sew the whole bag using similar construction with the sewing machine. It IS a beautiful bag, regardless.

She needs a heavy duty straight stitch machine. The one she's using while it's cute and fine for the sewing of the bag parts, it's not great for heavy seams which will only take the machine out of time for sure.
I make tote bags, purses, wallets etc. I work with all sorts of materials as well. Some things I don't dare use my sewing machine to connect some of the segments, I hand sew some parts. Now, I will sometimes use glue to hold things in place before I hand sew. Hand sewing is my go to method for that sturdy refined finished look. This method may take more time but, the finished look of the product is well worth it. Depending on the bag I am making I use yarn, leather cord, laces and upholstery thread which comes in a verity of colors. Sometimes I sew in such a manner the stitching won't be seen at all. When you make a bag, you know what you want, you just have to decide what method to use to give it that polished look at the end.
I just stumbled across this video and it had me in awe. The bag is cute AF, despite the fact glue was used. I would use this bag (as is) when hanging out. I don't think the bag was designed to carry everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink soooo.....it works for me. Love it❤💗🥰

You make the cutest bags but why on earth do you use hot glue when you have a sewing machine? They'll last so much longer if they're sewn and they're so adorable!
Sewing jeans material at home is difficult, especially at the joints. Glue gun does not serve any purpose
You need a special needle and presser foot for denim. It's way too thick for normal needles. But hand sewing would work much better than hot glue. Especially at the handles and bottom seam.
@@wendijackson8844 You are so correct, when I come to this situation I hand walk me machine to get past these bulky sections. If that doesn't work I hand stitch.
Try using a rubber mallet, or a regular hammer wrapped with some fabric to protect the project and hammer those heavy seams down. Be gentle though.
Maybe that's how she wanted to do it... If ppl don't like it then sew it if ur gonna do the project
Quedo hermosa😍el uso de la silicona es para acomodar bien las piezas y luego todo lo paso por la máquina...la silicona hizo el papel de los alfileres.
Me encanto gracias por compartir, y a todas las chicas que dicen del silicon esta bien es una manera de que ella lo hace, pero podemos optar por coserlo quien sabemos de costura ya es desicion de cada una de nosotras y la creatividad podemos coserlo, ponerle el bies o no ponerselo el forro puede ir separado o al igual que esta en el video.
Muy lindo bolso😍pero me hubiera gustado que en lugar de pegar con silicona lo hubiera costurado. Entiendo que es una máquina doméstica y que el tejido muy grueso pero aún así.

The initial picture of the bag showed that it was made using piping around sides, not the uglier wider use of (glued) hem tape. The handles and top zipper were a more professional, finished look most likely purchased pre-made.
Still, appreciate the video for quick tips. Like the mesh roll of drywall patch stuff to use as stabilizer? I’ve never seen that used before. Genius.
Love the bag but like everyone else I would also stitch where the blue was used but you have me some great ideals for a few projects you inspired me to create my own and have me a couple of techniques to use .THANK YOU!💘💘
Very cute idea! Never saw wall webbing used in sewing projects before! I will have to remember that! But, I myself as a sewist and quilter would rather have all project sewn. If there is any weight in that bag the glue will wear over time and come apart plus will not wash well.
Would liked to have seen how to do the handles shown in thumbnail😊nice idea......I will keep the pocket in the jeans so it is useable.
There are videos showing how to make and sewing the handles onto a bag like this, just do a search.
Agree on the pocket point. I'd also use the jean top on both sides to have 2 pockets. Cute bag.

If the glue bother you, god don't use it on yours and that's it. Is a beautiful project to recreat like what ever you want, pass the glue issue.

Love this. I love the idea of using the glue gun but only to hold it in place so it didn't move while sewing it. Will use this technique for my next bag but will stitch the sides, bottom and handles to make it stronger.
You have the right idea. Take the design and run with it, make it your own. If you can sew, you don't need to have some telling you how to do it you just need an idea to start with. This person has given us an idea, now we make it our way and get the same or better results. It's a start.
If you don't want to use glue... guess what don't use it. Awesome tutorial... a perfect craft to do with my children. Thanks for sharing.

But jeans concept is great.
you can just recreate everything but instead of hot glue sew it ,thats what i plan on doing 🤷🏻♀️

I have been doing crafts for over 30 years. I have never had anything that I hot glued come apart. Just switch it up if you do choose. Your negative comment really was unnecessary. Have a blessed day! Smile!!

Tiene toda la razón. El trabajo muy bonito pero lastimosamente lo daño pegándole con la goma. Hubiera terminado de coser a maquina. Pero igual su trabajo fue hermoso. Sólo que el ajuste sería sellarlo a máquina

This was just Excellent job in the Design and look but please Sew over the sides you tape, cause it looks unstable especially if you are going to carry stuff in your bag it needs stability on the handles.

Yes, if you use glue use glue for fabric it will hold so much better. I would like to know how you decide your sizing on those sides, You don't give us a number for it. All in all, it is so cute, want to try it, but no hot glue for me.

Susan Harrington these are areas where it would be difficult to sew. Either the fabric would be too thick for the machine, or it would be impossible to get the seam under the presser foot in the folded configuration. I would want to use a washable permanent glue alongside that hot glue though, and possibly add a flat stiffener piece for the bottom. But all in all, she does nice work and I’m impressed.
i think its bc of her sewing machine, she’s using a portable sewing machine and it cannot sew such thick fabric. it will break the needle.

@@arlenekanhai Not for long with normal use. If you don't have a sewing machine designed for heavy fabrics, you can use a permanent fabric glue along with the glue gun to hold it together while your fabric glue dries. I think I would also hand stitch as much as possible.

This little bag is so cute. It's a great idea to recycle old jeans. But, why didn't you use Vliseline S 520? It's hard enough and you don't need wall tape.
You shouldn't use hot glue. That is not very durable. Sewing ist better.

What a beautiful bag, not sure why it was glued and not sewn but it's something I will try.
She is showing how SHE can make HER VERSION of the bag in the thumbnail saving herself both time & money. She is not showing herself cloning it or how the factory made it, it is her version & it is pretty amazing! I wish more people would be happy doing this & maybe we wouldn't have the massive credit card debt we have in the US because 15 year olds think they need to carry $1200.00 purses to school causing jealousy & fighting amongst the girls.
I would much rather go to a school where this type of thing was encouraged vs th common today trend of how much can you spend or get your parents to spend on you! How much more fun would it be if kids attended classes that taught & supported creating your own version of the overpriced things that the kids are buying in the mall now.

Why would you use hot glue. Why wouldn’t you sew? No way could you carry more than half a kilo in that without it falling apart
Chrys Kramer they just do that because it’s faster on the bits that are hard to see because this is juts a fun craft not a full tutorial on how to make a strong bag because instead of complaining just do it yourself x

Love the bag, but I am confused with the dimensions. The sheet says 25x64cm, but one of the pieces is longer and the dimension sheet says it the same. What are the dimensions of the other?

Like so many others I don’t understand the use of the glue gun, I also don’t understand why you cut off the pockets instead of leaving them to be used as, you know, pockets?

Great project! Your sewing machine must not be able to sew layers of denim. If one has access to a tough sewing machine that would be able to handle multiple layers please use a machine verses the glue gun. Another option would be to use industrial thread and hand sew important seams. Bright idea and easy to follow. Keep going with the lessons because your creative is amazing! If I were making this bag I would add additional pockets and use a shorter zipper but that's just my style. Don't get discouraged by all the negative vibes. Just review and improve because you got this girl! Keep up the good work!

I am using this bag as an idea putting 'my spin' on the project. I don't want to copy this bag. Instead , I want to create my own version. ie: leave the pocket, not using the hot glue and adding another pocket inside the bag, etc. Thank you.
