I read an article saying that Dior is trying to move towards being more “clean” (changing some ingredients, leaving some out) which to me means ruining everything they reformulate. This clean marketing tactic personally makes my eyes roll back in my head. 🙄
Seriously. While i can appreciate brands wanting to be more natural... The "natural" ingredients are usually extremely irritating to those with sensitive skin.. or even not sensitive skin. If they were going the direction of being crueltyfree etc I'd be more forgiving but good grief... this "clean" trend is... " let's throw a bunch of extracts in everything so it sounds more natural" 🙄
“Clean” is such a convoluted word. Most “natural”products have ingredients that are so irritating to those of us with sensitive skin. There are only a handful that I can use.
I just learned about this concealer this year, because I worked at Sephora over the holidays, and I was blown away by this concealer. I don't think I've ever felt a more moisturizing concealer before. There was a guest that came in and got a color match, and this was one of the concealers recommended. Omg I think I want to get this one, maybe I'll ask for it for valentines day lol
Nooo! This was sooo good for hyper sensitive skin. With the added extracts and fragrance there is next to no chance this will work for me. Dang. I could even use the old one while on isotretinoin, that’s how good it was
Thanks for the review, Stephanie. Two quick comments; I don't work for Dior but I am well aware of consumer product companies' struggle to maintain quality with unstable supply chain partners and uncertain access to raw ingredients. Dior is a sophisticated company that (I suspect) hears the rave reviews about their products and I doubt seriously that they WANT to reformulate, it's likely a necessary pivot. I could be totally wrong of course. Secondly, there are a handful of fantastic concealers out there (as I've found through you and other awesome creators) and more hitting the market in a constant stream. Always good to have more than one "holy grail" IMHO.
Agreed! I work for medical devices company and to say it’s been a struggle with supply chain is an understatement. Companies feel forced to reinvent the wheel in order to not sink!!
I love that concealer so much (I'm 48) that I was devastated when I heard about this reformulation. I know that makeup brands all want to be "clean" with "natural" ingredients because this is a big trend and they are all adding skincare in their formulas, which is not necessarily a good thing. Everybody has different skin type and sensibility to some ingredients. I already have a skincare regiment that fits my skin issues, I don't need more skincare in my makeup. Some flower extracts can trigger sensitivity and can lead to inflammation of your skin, as well as hyaluronic acid and squalane that are very popular in makeup... Looking forward to your final thoughts about this reformulation.

I have to agree with you that the old concealer looks better as you showed us. I bought the original because of you and have absolutely loved it so much. So sad to hear they have changed it.
In Europe Dior is also pricey but still way cheaper than in the US - I'm always shocked when I hear what you are willing to pay for their products! If they want to go "clean" they should remember this is not a priority for all customers and instead of "improving" loved and popular products they should come up with a separate "clean" line and see how it goes.
Hi Stephanie I love the original so much that I hopped on Sephora and bought back ups. I noticed that almost all shades were sold out. Every time a company “reformulates”, the product worsens imho.

One of the reasons these companies are reformulating products us many European countries and even certain states in US are enacting laws that require them to make products vegan cruelty free and leave out many chemicals or ingredients that have been deemed toxic. Whenever I hear "reformulated," all that means to me is that the company is dumbing the product down. For the sake of corporate profits, they are willing to cheapen the product, effectively screwing the customer over. If it worked at $38, they should have just left it alone. If the ingredients or production costs are higher, they should have just increased the price and left the product intact. Personally, to me, the new one is noticeable under your eye and not for the right reason. It looks dry and is creasing. I will pass on this one.
I bought it and returned it same as the foundation capture I used for 16 years. The quality is not even close to the old version. It’s a cheap product and nothing was fine better ! All just a marketing ! The concealer moves and looked like I had wrinkles which I don’t. The foundation capture I loved do much (now it’s a cheap foundation) both items are a cheaper quality not better. It’s thin and looks not good at all and creased. Tart is way better and cheaper. I am not buying Christian Dior foundation anymore neither there eye concealer.

Why try to fix what isn't broken? Nobody asked for this!!!
Ok, bring out a new, reformulated version but, keep the original in production too. That way WE have the choice.
I'm so upset with Dior right now.
I hope they don't reformulate anything else!!
Thank you for this review Stephanie, I very much appreciate it .
Love you, 💗💗🤍💗💗🤍💗💗
Why are brands always messing up a good thing? If it’s not broken, don’t fix it!
Just...why!!!???
Nooo are you serious I loved the old one I’m actually really sad about this 💔💔💔
Why do they do this to us??????
Eeek it has fragrance. I will never repurchase this
The extracts are just marketing baloney. They are way down at the end of the ingredients list.
Disappointing.

Ughhhh
So done with dior 😑
I bought it and returned it same as the foundation capture I used for 16 years. The quality is not even close to the old version. It’s a cheap product and nothing was fine better ! All just a marketing ! The concealer moves and looked like I had wrinkles which I don’t. The foundation capture I loved do much (now it’s a cheap foundation) both items are a cheaper quality not better. It’s thin and looks not good at all and creased. Tart is way better and cheaper. I am not buying Christian Dior foundation anymore neither there eye concealer.
