I used to be an escape artist and made my own picks. Best material for this is hacksaw blades. Very cheap and the perfect size and flex etc. Used ones are free too. I will not tell you what I used for handcuffs (even two pair behind my back with the keyholes together and thumb cuffs and then 200 feet in the air upside down on a crane in the wind + chains, ropes, combination locks and aerial jacket etc), that's a super secret. Your welcome.
Dammit you guys are seriously like tracking my hobbies as I come across them. I just recently (well like 6 months ago) got into lock picking and made a ton of picks from hacksaw blades. Its funny I have only been able to SPP or rake the deadbolts in my house but I haven't been able to get the cheap little interior door locks like the one you guys did.
Told a classmate how to pick the lock on her rv when she left her keys in there and her parents locked up to go to work. Paper clip did the trick and me watching too much tv.
Dude. That makes me feel real good as I'm going to sleep tonight. Albeit it's kind of my fault for clicking on this vid right before I fall asleep but oh well I guess.
LOL, Pat said "tweet @Teckzilla" Been watching him since the screensavers, makes me think how many shows he has hosted since then! Keep up the good work guys!
I like bump keys, just like raking, only easier. But you do need the right size key for the lock for that to work. Used a bump key for my spare house key for awhile, kept me in practice and if anyone found it, chances are they didn't know how to use it.
I was bored one evening and made a set of "Masterlock" bump keys using the old hand filing method. Took forever, but was fun enough playing around with them. The cashier who sold me the lock and files gave me the dirtiest look ever - I think she knew about bump keys anyhow. I'm awaiting some lock picks from Amazon and a practice lock (clear plastic).... I might end up making some diy lock picks for fun as well - might go look for street cleaner/old hacksaw blades...
Now this is one video I can get behind, as I've lost a set of keys before, and have been locked out of my house in the rain, and have lost keys to a few master locks over the years.
I tried picking the lock on my friends iPhone but i broke the iPhone so DIY Trying now ows me 800$ because they did not put a disclaimer that it did not work on IPhone locks. You also owe me a new computer. And a new lamborgeni cas i broke that too.
I want to know where you found out about the windshield wiper blade materiel from because I figured that out about 6 years ago and posted about it only once on a certain forum.... also related to diy
ihave manny padlock.,I'm just collecting and i don't no., if where is the other of my key,. because my mother is absent minded.,she forget if where she put,. that is a big help to have an idea and technic., how to revive it again my old padlock.,
Waaaaaait, why are you teaching lock-picking to thirteen year olds? Kidding, this is actually pretty useful. There's a lock I've forgotten the combination to that I can actually use now. :D
Nice video....however be careful to check laws in your locality...it may be illegal to have mere possession of lock pics without a license. I dont think it would matter if you keep them in the privacy of your own home or place of business but carrying in public wouldn't be smart
If you don't mind destroying the lock and per say it has like 7 pins in the tumbler then you can do what cody did in codys lab and use a few drops of nitroglycerin and obliterate the whole lock all together...
I'm probably going to do this after my set of lock picks arrive in the mail + a practice lock. My mum lost the key to her filing cabinet and I'm needing to get into it.
just so you know in the lock picking hobby or lock sport world there are 3 rules 1 do not pick a lock you don't own 2 don't pick a lock in use 3 do not do anything against the law with your picks rules 1 and 2 you all broke
I looked at the MIT guide and would equate it to the eyesore sold as the guide to lock picking by eddie the wire which was too technical and hardly any real practical pictures. Also its clear you where paid by toool to mention them and they take themselves a little too seriously and charge over inflated prices for picks of questionable material and thickness also with no names on them which could mean they snap and break too easily. They also charge member fee's and dues just to associate with them, that's not something I would support. It's really sad and pathetic that you yourselves overlook other youtubers on here who teach DIY lock picking or sport picking I know that youtuber bosnianbill has a pateron account set up to let subscribers pay him or donate to his channel and I don't see appeal in that paying for a video you are watching for free. That's something you people need to consider, what I learned also came from youtube and didn't cost me a dime nor did I ever read any formal books on it.
Hypo needles? broken windows? damn, you guys live in a dodgey as neighborhood
That's your typical white suburb.

Awesome! What will you guys not cover for topics? You guys keep me guessing all the time. Keep it up!

LOL, Pat said "tweet @Teckzilla" Been watching him since the screensavers, makes me think how many shows he has hosted since then!
Keep up the good work guys!
I've been watching him (not continuously though) since SYSTM, the first Revision 3 show ever!
You guys are fueling my inner Grand Theft Auto 5... :O
Locks only keep honest people out. :P
Absolutely true.
Depends on the lock, but, yeah, too many locks are too easy to get around, esp if you're willing to damage whatever it's in.
I like bump keys, just like raking, only easier. But you do need the right size key for the lock for that to work. Used a bump key for my spare house key for awhile, kept me in practice and if anyone found it, chances are they didn't know how to use it.
raking is nice if you have that key. But SPP is quite enjoyable, sometimes FRUSTRATING, but when you get passed a touch lock it feels like drugs lol

They sell clear see through locks on ebay so u can practice. It comes with a few different lock configurations so you can learn how to open any lock

Windshield wiper metal. Been doing this for years just to prove to ppl how easy it is to pick locks
you shouldnt be wearing gloves while operating that grinding wheel
Used hack saw blades also work pretty well for this.
Wish I found this channel sooner much love for Patrick Norton
Awesome guys! keep up the DIY(E) Trying!
I tried picking the lock on my friends iPhone but i broke the iPhone so DIY Trying now ows me 800$ because they did not put a disclaimer that it did not work on IPhone locks.
You also owe me a new computer.
And a new lamborgeni cas i broke that too.
this only works on novice locks. not master licks
2y no reply sorry to hear it but funny
Ben Treacy hahahaa too good!
I get my wiper blades from the trash barrel at Autozone.
I want to know where you found out about the windshield wiper blade materiel from because I figured that out about 6 years ago and posted about it only once on a certain forum.... also related to diy
Patric looks like the Heavy on Team Fortress 2, hahaha, cool video though!
I got a lock picking set, it's very tricky to learn.
this will help me in my journey throughout my life...
I wonder if the metal strips on wiper blades will work. They're hard metal. We don't have street sweepers here.
4:08 is that boxxy?
'Round here she's Catie Wayne!
DIY Tryin No
Catie you can run but you can't hide.

There is a method to recovering combinations for your locks. Not giving a link here but is easily googled. Any newbie can crack one within 10 minutes
Ooooh, gotcha, I'll look into it. Thanks, both of you!
I need to make this now!
Do it and send us the result!
Peter Torls 2 years later
it is illegal to have lock picking tools in some places unless you are a registered locksmith, so hide them in your shoes!
why not use hacksaw blades and a thin allen key?
+Justin Dre because hacksaw blades would destroy the inside of your lock
great show!!!
Can you pick a car lock?
Isn't one of the lockpicking "rules" not to pick locks you are using...?
True
why?
_ ϺɅƦCΞL _ They might get damaged
"free"
Great info!
Nice work gents

Thank you so much!!
In that neighborhood i'd be working on better locks than picking them LMFAO
I live in the city so I made the whole thing with a file and that took soooooo long
I'm probably going to do this after my set of lock picks arrive in the mail + a practice lock. My mum lost the key to her filing cabinet and I'm needing to get into it.
