If you can’t have a laugh what’s the point, fair play! Trading my disco 5 this morning in for disco 4 graphite. The 4 is just a more impressive looking low key wagon. Planning on holding on to it for foreseeable as they are definitely in the collectible category.

I’ve got the XXV version and love it. Was very interested in your comments about ride/drive quality compared to a RRS, so perhaps I may hang on to it for a bit longer, despite also liking the RRS. Another great video. 👍
For a big bruiser this vehicle is quiet and refined and that gearbox is seamless, great piece of stock that won't be on your forecourt for very long 😎👏

Hi have a 66 plate landmark, nice car, but only done under 31000 already had to replace the air suspension pump. I have noticed that low mileage late 16 examples the prices for them now up to £42500 now . Regards mark

Hi Barrie, I visited a car dealer yesterday north of Warrington. Lovely Peugeot 508 FSH, I'm a cash buyer, test drive it. Offered to sort a deal on it, his auto trader listing was 480 above average plus it was due a cambelt change very soon. Yet he would NOT drop by 1p ?! I've never known a dealer not even offer at least a full fuel tank. His attitude when it came to sorting a deal was unbelievable. To say I wasn't even giving him a part ex job it speaks for itself.
Xmas time of year, cash buyer, cambelt due, highest above average price, yet not any give.
He even said... find another like this... and less than I day later I have, less miles and 500 cheaper. Problem for me is that sale is down south too far.
My main message here is wtf is going on with dealers and these 10 year old car prices these days 😐

Its really difficult to buy stock at the moment (good stock that is) i have just been bidding on a car for my mate (CAP Retail for it was £10450) i dropped out at £11650, we are advertising cars at cash prices too, we are paying more to buy stuff but not passing on the increase to customers so are margins are squeezed and we cant afford to knock anything off, ps Autotrader Price Banners are way off at the moment and should really be ignored, glad you got sorted though, there is always another car down the road !

Great review Barry. Am looking at buying a 2015 SDV6 HSE that has 168,000kms clocked on it. It there anything that I should look out for? By the sounds of it, this vehicle is one that is built to last. - Regards, Aaron
Make sure it has a good service history, oil changes are important, also front and rear cambelts should have been changed at that mileage i think, and make sure that the air suspension is going up and down as it should,

Awesome car the Discovery 4, literally the most versatile vehicle ever made… and a true full size 7 adult seater vehicle!
The one u drove is lovely in Nara Bronze with almond ‘premium leather’ interior with piano black trim and cold climate pack!
I’m in Oz and is more Toyota, ford and Nissan country over here… and many people have there comments on JLR product, however honestly nothing compares to a ‘Disco’ 4 for refinement and superior ride quality on and off road!
I adored my disco 3 HSE V8.. and my disco 4 SDV6 HSE i bought new, I would not change for any other new LR at this time especially the discovery… it just dosent make the cut like the old model… Take the D4 for a drive an you won’t look back, and yes it is better than the the RRSport!
Some of the best options to look
For in one is the rear diff locks, premium leather, cold climate pack, harman Kardon 875watt 17 speaker sound system, to name just a few!
Lots of glowing comments on here and no mention of the poor reliability and the nasty habit of the crank shaft breaking.
Never mind, you’ve managed to get it in now, just worth a mention, we sell lots, they are the best cars on the road and we have more trouble with Audis, mercs and bmws than we do with JLR product, but for some unknown reason everyone likes to have a go at British product, which is probably why our motor industry was decimated, so thanks for your contribution 👍
@@BarrieCrampton Thanks Barrie, sadly I am talking from experience, I have a 2016 D4 broke down twice whilst travelling in Europe and now on 19.400 miles. I have had three Discoveries and the D4 has been the worst. I will agree with you BMW and Audi just as unreliable. We use these as company cars and yes none are perfect. The old Nissan Terranos now they were bullet proof.
Thats bad but we also had to spend £2500 on a Volvo because the windscreen wasn’t sealed properly (which is a known fault) and water ingress ruined the entertainment system, bmw mini gearbox’s exploding, its just rife throughout the car industry,

Great car love the look of them,, But! ! That engine hmmmmm it’s a ticking time bomb 💣 ready to blow… unfortunately your grasp of battery power and it’s chemistry really need a brush up🤓, but yes diesel has become very efficient probably no point in telling you how per Kilometre to litre burnt it is much more economical then battery power?,,but progressive technology will prevail as for British bashing I think you put your hands out to be slapped… look at your leadership ?. F1 and Max vs Hamilton, both deserved the title but to win under those circumstances puts a shadow on it for sure, but if it was “Max the Brit”would you feel the same way?? I doubt it, take when you win on a dodgy decision in football you say SORE LOSERS, I take it your trying to sell the car not your opinions.
I would take Boris any say of the week over Biden, Macron and that German woman, ------ we will have to disagree on a few points in that answer, Landrovers are the best car on the road in my opinion, i personally would hate to win at any sport under circumstances like that, and we British have an overwhelming sense of fairplay, best man won but Max didnt win he was gifted it, they bent the rules to facilitate him coming first, also usually in football decisions go against us, ie hand of god maradonna etc, Electric cars are absolutely awful, they are made with precious metals, mined under terrible conditions, and powered by "nuclear power stations" the clue is in nuclear, weve had a few catastrophes over the years with Tankers like the Tory Canyon, and the Exxon Valdis, yes they do cause pollution, but weve never had anything like Fukushima or Chernobyl, and thats with the power stations we have, in the UH it is estimated that we would need 11 more nuclear power stations to facilitate electric car take up, 11 more potential Time Bombs, on rather a larger scale than a landrover engine, and having to keep fuel rods for 200,000 years until they are safe is insane, we just have to keep them safe from terrorists for 200,000 years, what could possibly go wrong, thats not taking into account that electric cars are just bombs on wheels and once they catch light you cant but them out, or that batteries have to be clamped together because other wise they deform during use, and if 0ne cell or god forbid the battery conditioner goes then the whole battery will be useless, every single Chevy Bolt that has been sold is being recalled to have the whole battery pack replaced, in the meantime owners are being told to only charge it to 80% and when you've charged it make sure yo park it at least 50 feet from your house, when you work on electric cars you cant do it on your own, your area has t be cordoned off with tape so no one can wonder in accidentally, and there has to be a huge insulated sheep hook available to drag your corpse away from the battery back should you poke your screw driver in the wrong hole, so in closing electric cars are a joke!!!!!!!!! we wont know the true cost of electric cars for a number of years, but i think its not the right solution,
@@BarrieCrampton just for the record I absolutely agree with you on electric cars viability and long term sustainability ie power stations to run the whole show.
They are just not a long term solution but unfortunately the powers to be and Ala-cart eco warriors think differently. As I said pound for pound or Kilo for Kilo diesel is much more efficient specially for long hauling trucks etc.both diesel and petrol cars are having their Concord moment as a certain Mr Clarkson once said, they are at peak performance ie a 2 litre petrol golf kicking out over 300bhp and giving reasonable mpg.But the whole battery not losing weight as it loses power thing is what I meant when you need to look at the chemistry of batteries. F1 well that’s something that we’ll have to disagree on, unfortunately fairness or FairPlay is missing from a lot of sports let alone countries, your Borris is ready to throw who ever under the bus to save himself and as for that German woman she has since retired, Biden is old and not really up to the job but a hell of a nicer guy then the horrible guy that he replaced, hopefully they will learn to be united again at some stage or before they tear them selfs apart but politics and religion is a rabbit hole that Really shouldn’t be brought up at a dinner party let alone A UA-cam car channel 🥸 finally as for that LR disco 4 V6 Diesel engine, well let’s say I love LR but not that engine, it is inherently flawed, same in the Jag but for some reason it doesn’t brake Cranks.
