The trash that media has put and are still putting in our minds is really disastrous junaid bhai. Do something so we could come out of this ill mentality ... True, that's why many people in India itself is turning away from Bollywood while giving more exposure to South Indian film industries of course they have some romance as well but it is limited to certain extent and it does not divert from it's main plot means love/romance are secondary or tertiary focus meanwhile in Bollywood most of the time whole plot revolves around it or even if they have some other plot they give main focus to romance as if that's the important part of the story for example 'brahmastra' movie, it also got diverted from the plot and gives more focus to romance between ranveer and Aaliyah which audience didn't like and gives harsh criticism, so yeah, Indian audience in last decade has also changed their mind and are more focused on other factors of movies unlike before
It primarily happens due to increased internet access after Jio's entry in 2016 due to which people starts to embrace and watch other countries content like Hollywood movies(marvel and others included) ,Japanese anime,etc.. So people realize that the story, plot, acting and such other stuff are the things which makes movie successful not some superstar or lust in name of romance, so if you see in recent time most famous/blockbluster movies in Bollywood and other film industries didn't have love as major factor like for example RRR, KGF, tanhaji , etc...
