How many amazingly good movies did they make back then? This is just one more that I'm so happy I was able to watch. I don't watch anything but the old ones, they're the best, by far.
Such a wonderful movie. Gary Cooper and Ann Sheridan are exquisite. Leo McCarey's films are special. Good characters, delightful jokes and some very touching moments. We need more films like this today - stories with good themes.
Wonderful film, and different! I got so angry for her sake, when he had lent away the house money, fantasy or not. That drunken scene in the bar was a master piece
I was just arriving home with a load of groceries today. I see my neighbor who cares for their elderly parents. I suggested to him that the package of cooked chicken I got was more than I would be able to eat before it spoiled, and would he accept some of it. It was just before noon, and he was excited with my offer! The elderly parents would have a nice lunch! He was happy, I felt good and came in and watched this great Gary Cooper movie! Thanks for the upload, Mr Borchers!
Such B.S. the beginning of the movie begins with a priest sing a homily on being a 'good person'. LMAO Ask anyone if they are a good person'; most answer to the. affirmative, YES! . . . God is GOOD!
This should be forced watching for the millenial and snowflakes generation to see what healthy human relations look like and might help them out of their smartphone zombie state and super irritability. Granted, in 1948 the sbsaharans were at their place more than today.
There's a fine blend o cigarette at the kitchen dear table where the lighter popped off on the dining chair town rears found you mains. Ie me. Would like to know when that blend s a coming
Great actor but the social commentary of the time speaks volumes 1948 us service men and women returning from the Uk bringing back English cuisine fyi 39 minutes dinner roast beef and Yorkshire puddings fun fact Yorkshire pudding cheap easy food designed to fill you up ergo as a kid eat the starter a massive Yorkshire pudding that filled you up and the beef and vegetables made stew’s until Wednesday but the irony is Americans only listened to the greatest generation complain about rationed British food and forgot about the good stuff that could be made with out rationed food

Wonderful film, and different! I got so angry for her sake, when he had lent away the house money, fantasy or not.
That drunken scene in the bar was a master piece
With, I believe, William Frawley (Fred from "I Love Lucy") as the bartender.
1970 was the last time I saw a Salvos band playing on a street corner here in Australia. The end of my youth I think.
They've also 'disappeared off the radar' in England (in what was England, that is).
Thank U 4-Upld, enjoyed very much.
“…That’s when I learned to play the saxophone.” Hilarious!
Why does this remind me off Jimmy Stewart's movie It's a Wonderful Life?
It’s a wonderful life similar movie. New to me fora Christmas favours.
This movie is excellent ❤❤❤
Makes you remember what America is all about
I thought 'America' (the U.S.) was about "every-man-for-himself", with altruism being cosidered akin to communism

A better title would have been "Good Neighbour Sam"
This is a parallel to Jimmy Stewart "Its wonderful life"
