You missed the Captain Cook Museum at Adventure Bay. It has his hand-written log on show. Also the trip to the South Island lighthouse and the magnificent views from there. I love Bruny - the best part of Tassie.
What a great side venture to your Tassie trip. You presented a great and spectacular view of Bruny. Good work, I should like to visit there someday. Cheers Tony
having Celiac myself, I miss "real" bread so much!! That looked incredible, and I am sure it tasted marvelous. The oysters - not so much, there is no way I could ever try them...you brave souls...lol
Hi guys….love this video….the nature there…incredible, now I have to try and shoe horn a visit to Bruny, we have trips organised for almost every day during our short stay in Tassie…we plan to go to Maria Island….so might try and make it two islands to explore….our trip later this year is just in the south, we will look at the north another time…..this will be our second time in Tassie….we experienced a weather bomb last time, heavy rain, snow on the high ground…howling gales, and this was in December…felt right at home like my own islands crazy weather…but you know what, we loved Tassie, hence our return later this year…cheers guys for your hard work making these great videos x
Thank you so much! 💙 Bruny is a fantastic spot, definitely worth a visit for a future trip! Fingers crossed you get perfect weather for your trip later this year 🤞
@@lydiaandwehan Thanks guys….you know we expect a full gamut of weather when we are in Tassie….just make sure we dress for the occasion…I am so looking forward to both Melbourne and Southern Tasmania….part two of my wife’s special birthday year….in a few weeks time we head for Mauritius….visit her relatives there and just chill out…..our beach vacation…..doing nothing….as Tassie we will be up at the crack of dawn everyday…..safe travels guys, I am catching up with your videos…..really enjoy them and your warmth that shines through..cheers guys x
Wow, just searched it up and it looks incredible! Thank you so much for the recommendation, we’ll definitely check it out. And thank you for watching 😊
Sadly we were a little worried about the road conditions and whether our van would be fine driving there! We actually had a chat with another camper who had just been down that way and they said that the road was pretty pot-holey at the time of our visit
As a local I think the ferry prices are outrageously expensive. If the images you showed are yours, I think you saw both species of Tasmanian quoll: the Eastern Quoll (lighter) and the Tiger Quoll (darker).
I think the ferry was pretty cheap for us as travellers, especially compared to the ferries in other states such as to Kangaroo Island in SA which was almost the cost of the Spirit of Tas! 😅 I’m sure as a local it’s a huge pain and can really add up if you’re frequently travelling to and from Bruny or live there, it’s such a shame that they don’t offer it free or significantly reduced for locals. The images we showed were taken on the night as we were driving and the video clips we showed when talking about the colouring of the quolls was from the beautiful Eastern quolls during our time volunteering at Devils @ Cradle 😊
There's no Tiger Quolls on Bruny. Just Eastern Quolls, they come in light and dark morphs. Both are the same species. Tiger Quolls are considerably bigger, and only come in light colour
@@lydiaandwehan at least you had the same reaction as each other- try going on a date with someone and their whole family at some fancy restaurant, having 3(or more) of the things because they’re trying to impress you with the decadence, and then having to get them to stop the car on the way home so that you can throw up! I’ve not touched oysters of any sort since then, but yes, I used to enjoy kilpatrick!
After picking up hundreds of them during our volunteering in Cradle Mountain we’ve become obsessive about checking for leaches every 5 minutes 😅 They’re the worst!!
We always try our best with pronunciations everywhere we go and search for them online or ask locals (especially after getting the pronunciation of Gravelly Beach so wrong! 🤣).. but we don't always get it right. I believe with Truganini we saw a few references online saying that the media often refers to Truganini as 'truh-ga-ni-ni' but based on the pronunciation of the language (Nuennonne) around Oyster Bay it would actually be 'troo-ga-ni-ni'. But it was quite hard to find a clear source online, so we definitely don't mean any disrespect if we pronounced her name wrong.
@@lydiaandwehan I know you don’t mean any disrespect 😘😘 I’m glad that you guys make the effort to try to find the correct pronunciations of things! Hey- you pretty much nailed Launceston, so you’re winning IMO!! 😂😂
What a darling couple! You are the loveliest people I have ever seen on UA-cam. So glad you have loved my beautiful home state of Tasmania. ❤
Oh thank you, that's so kind of you! Tasmania is incredible, we've really fallen in love with this beautiful state.
another amazing episode guys ❤what a lovely couple
Loved watching you trying to eat the Oysters, I still haven't been brave enough to do it. Well done for keeping them down. Loved the Quoll photos.
😅 I think the more you think about it the worse it is! And thank you!! 💙

Will add those on the list for next time. We loved Bruny too!

I love oysters. Bruny Island oysters are the best

You’ll definitely have to at some point! Definitely some spectacular places over here 😊

Love your vids, very concise, you should check out Devils Gullet in the central highlands of Tasmania, Australia’s Grand Canyon

Another beauty!! Well done guys. Fresh oysters never the best way to try first..but well done for giving it ago. 😅
Thank you, hope you had a great new years! 💙 We tried our best hahah, now we can say we've done it at least! 😅
@lydiaandwehan Happy New Year! Yes next time try oysters kilpatrick a little easier to swallow lol

Yeah, or just compare to the Maria Island ferry price.
Come on manup on those oysters!!
😅 We tried!
OMG 😂 oysters are a great aphrodisiac 😊
No to the oysters !! 😂
🤣🙌
If you're detecting spice in your honey you may be mildly allergic.
Yeah - tried raw oysters - not my thing at all! They are nice however, cooked with bacon & sprinkled with soy sauce
Definitely not for us! 😅 Lydia's mom did say kilpatrick style is best but I think it'll be a little while before we try oysters again.
