it is caused by taking laxatives for 2 days softening the walls with fluid then putting a tube up the butt and inflating with air to a pressure greater than it has ever seen.. also known at endoscopy. much like a waterhose or heater hose on a car to much pressure on an older hose that has weaken from the liquid and then pressure pushes out pockets.. i had a ct done 2003 no diverticulitus, 2004 had endoscopy to find the back pain that mri didnt see and found nothing there. late 2004 hurting again i got another ct with contrast and bingo now have diverticulitus..i was age 37, weight 209 5'11" would like to find how to deal with this. bending over causes my stomach to bloat. I have also noticed cutting out wheat and corn stopped headaches and the toxic feelings and lost 20 lbs. maybe gmo wheat and corn cause my body to attack the food in the colon causing infections? also dont have appendix just some thoughts being i could never sit still very health before.
I cut out all tomatoes and tomato products, dried fruit and most fresh fruits.. For an Italian that is a big deal. But I havent had an attack since. I also stopped eating solid food for a month that helped heal the intestines.
